Had one in the army while I was in. Been through extreme cold (Alaska) and extreme heat (Death Valley Arizona, Afghanistan too) It’s still going strong and I have it to this day. I bought mine in 2010

I've had a few Carbinox watches and they have held up pretty well. The last one I killed by pitting it while welding, obviously my fault. But their prices have went up to the point I don't think they are worth it. I'm currently wearing a ZBlaze watch and it seems built just as well, at a quarter of the price.

Many different cheaper watch brands have mass produced computers in them with customized cases. The screens may be different materials. They only have to be more indestructible than you while you're wearing them.

Good point. Most of these tests would be more realistic if strapped to a rubber hand+wrist of some sort. That's how one would wear it and your body will absorb much of the shock.

I know they likely already lit on fire by now, but for a lithium fire you’d want like, a metal bucket filled with sand to put electronics in when the batteries expand, they can burn for a while and burn extremely hot and can burn almost anything.

I always had good luck with G-Shock while in the army. I was infantry and wore that watch everywhere while stationed in Alaska and deployed in Afghanistan. It’s been in -35 deg weather and it’s been in over 110 deg weather. Very durable watch. It even survived a suicide bomber when I was hit lol I didn’t like how bulky it was but it held up for years of abuse!

I actually have the exact same cheap watch. I'm abusive to watches and it has held up for over a year. There are a few little scratches you can see when the watch is asleep, but as soon as it lights up you can't even tell.
