It doesn't matter if you have pets or commercial animals. Pet owners to farmers love their animals, and will always try to do their best to keep the animals healthy, comfortable and looked after. You certainly have that aspect when it comes to your Bison !! I see a very happy herd. Thumbs up to the person who sent you that stuff.

Dusty, my son and daughter-in-law used to live within 10 miles from the Redmond Salt Mine that produces those products. Here in Utah we have a large Bison Herd on Antelope Island located in the Great Salt Lake. They sell great products. Garlic is really good for a LOT of things and with chickens, turkeys, etc.

In south-central Kentucky where our old family farm was when I was young, we had a small herd of about 12 Holstein milk cows my Grandfather milked by hand (and twice that number of Angus beef cattle but they wasn't the problem, at least not at that early time). In the very early spring the wild onions (which were actually wild Garlic but everyone called them Onions), would be the first to come up in large batches. The milk cows, which were free range, would get into the wild Garlic, they loved them, but the milk company did not. For about a month till the wild Garlic played out we could not sell the milk as premium, only as secondary milk products cause it gave the milk a strong Garlic smell and taste.
@ShogunHull4 жыл бұрын
AHH.... THANKS FOR THE TIP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. MAKES SENSE....ALTHOUGH...I WOULD LIKE THAT MILK MAYBE VERY MUCH SO. I THINK YOU SHOULD MARKET IT PRIVATELY. DON'T WASTE IT. I WOULD LIKE THE TASTE AND ALSO KNOWING THAT HEALTHY GARLIC IS GOING INTO MY BODY...WHICH KEEPS HUMANS HEALTHY!!! IF YOU EVER GO BACK INTO THAT BUSINESS...OR HAVE THE IDEA TO REACH OUT TO OTHER MILK FARMS AND CREATE THE ADD CAMPAIGN FOR IT....THIS COULD BE A SHOE-IN TO PPL HEALTH CONSCIOUS.
@ataurus2at4 жыл бұрын
Lol just make garlic butter out of it 😁
@Titus-as-the-Roman4 жыл бұрын
@@ShogunHull By Law the milk producers and the processors must remain separate, no way to market it, illegal to sell un-processed milk, and you probably wouldn't like this milk, not a good flavor at all once it's gone through the cow.

👍👍. You hit the jackpot with that load and if ya study up real good you’ll find it will make a difference. Keep a journal to see which is the best. Years ago on our ranch of 48 show horses we had a block in all corrals and stalls. Then someone came up with blocks with added minerals after our soil was tested to see what was lacking. Got to say we noticed improved coats and for our herd of goats better digestion. Our farmhands wife would ground huge amounts of garlic and the liquid we’d put in spray bottles and sprayed the blocks with it at beginning of fly season. It really worked well on flies especially those nasty horseflies that raise welts. With the blocks we’d put them on a metal post and pound in the ground deep and hang them on fence posts and trees. So glad we had soil tested cuz we lacked several needed minerals that we then added to their feed. Good luck and super great that company reached out to you. It gets costly but it’s worth it if they are healthy. Thanks for sharing and if ya wash up with Dawn liquid dish soap it gets rid of that garlic 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@jettabartholomew11184 жыл бұрын
You can also use apple cider vinegar on their grain feed. So when they ingest the grain and it gets into their system and they sweat...they sweat vinegar! Flies, etc hate this 👌

Not sure if you have dusting area for your bison...If not, easy to make...clear an area for vegetation...bring in sand...they will love you for it...Not sure, but you can check... diatomaceous earth added to your dusting area... I worked on a ranch in West Texas years ago as a hunting guide. We had about a hundred head of bison. Everyday you could see them rolling and playing in this dust area that was just nothing but sand. I do believe it kept the Flies and bugs off of them

Amazing Redmond mineral s vender outreach to your Ranch herd with their products from Utah. Awesome! Yes! It was good to see Elenore lick it up the mineral block and the baby buffalo s too. So time will tell how it effects them and your herds healthy coats and hooves and hair appearance and eyesight as well. They remember your treats as well. So that block of mineral s is a welcomed gift . They remember your care for them. Awesome and for Redmond products such a great outreach for their products as well. Great Job on that! Information to share with other Buffalo Ranchers! Teamwork with communication. For national Bison Registry Association . Bulletin news as well. Good news travels quickly. As breeding season and selling season happens . Keeping flies at minimum as well everyone is happy Right! Awesome video.

Raising bison you need to learn to use a welder and cutting torch. It is rather simple. Bison will tear up a lot of stuff as you have shown. The bison ranch that I saw in South Missouri many years ago the hurricane mesh wire fences were stretched and pushed over beyond belief. They raised Beefalo and Bison in separate pastures. I think the bulls fought through the fences. Good luck.

Hi Dustin. I had a friend that had a deer farm/petting, etc. and he used to give garlic to the deer as a de-wormer and swore by it. Don't know if it would work the same on bison, but it might be something to research? Good luck. Blessings.

Kinfolk had a dairy farm ,and as a kid I worked there,summers. Great uncle Bert had several places salt blocks were put down,I remember him observing that he always had water nearby for the cows to drink. I have not looked through your channel,just came across it. Is there a drinking water source near the lick blocks ? Unsurprisingly, the milk yield went down when one obstreperous cow wrecked the feed to the main fields. Took a couple of weeks to rework and strengthen the system,and the records he kept showed it going back to normal after repair. Milk yield records not important to your bison,but making sure all the water they want is available, and more than one source as a just in case,will keep them healthy and happy. All the best.

We’ve added garlic powder as a top dress to our Boer goat feed. We ran out before the new batch came in so we never saw a full long term run. We heard you need to run it for awhile to build their system up. Side note, double check that goat mineral. You said for goats and sheep. Make sure there is no copper. Also, a good quality good smelling loose mineral should get gobbled up quickly compared to cheap generics
