An alien race sends unstoppable killer robots to take over Earth, only to have the humans hack, reprogram, and turn these weapons against their former masters.

Arrogance will blind even the wisest of beings. The Aliens were so arrogant that they couldn't see that their attacks could trigger a massive spontaneous boost to mankind's potential. This short story reminded me of the War of the Worlds novel and the aliens' demise.

​@@RealEnerjak You are missing my point. I was talking about arrogance. Arrogance blinded the aliens in this short story and so, they overestimated themselves. Same thing with War of the Worlds aliens. Those squid overestimated themselves. War of the War aliens thought they were "The Shit" but got done in by something so basic. Their arrogance blinded them.

@@foofoo3344 I'm not entirely sure that's true in War if the worlds. The way it's told sounds more like incompetence and poor planning rather than arrogance on the part of the invaders. It's almost as if the idea or mere concept of bacteria was foreign to them.

Read the story about fort Henry and the star-spangled banner... All Americans had to do was let Thier flag drop to surrender from almost 100 ships bombard the fort then aimed all cannons at the flag and pole, and hit got hit many times directly hit but the flag was still up, come to learn that when the flag was going down men went to the flag and held it up and when they all died more men took Thier place using Thier strength and Thier soon to be dead bodies to keep the flag aloft.. over and over again..
