Wow, what a journey. This could be a trilogy on its own. Episode 1 - A New Fit Episode 2 - Pleather Strikes Back Episode 3 - Rise of the Cosplay I will say 1500 for that suit I feel wouldn't really be worth it. the helmet looks way too big, and the fact that the shoulder pauldrons don't move after they have been clipped on sounds really uncomfortable. Looks badass but 1500 is alot.

He just threw it on straight out of the box and filmed it. Not one single person who made a video has worn it correctly. This is coming from a Vader veteran.

I'm immediately brought back to my 5th Birthday. My dad decided to dress up as Darth Vader to surprise me and my friends. It was crazy because my dad was just as tall as the actual Vader from the movies and he had a very powerful and deep voice so when he actually walked out it was like the movies became real for just a little while. It was one of the best days of my life.

As an ex 501st Vader, you get into a routine to put the suit on, but i supose being double jointed helped with things like zipping my undersuit up. You do have to learn this swish throw to get the cape on. And having a decent cape hook helps to center the cape. But i did need help getting the mask and dome on, because normal shoulder armour's a bit bulkier. And once on you have difficulty reaching your head properly. Yeah the suit's hot, when i took it off i looked like I'd been chucked in a lake! Keep hydrated. But not as bad as one event in a outdoor shopping centre in the middle of summer. Where some journalist wanted a picture with me as Vader sparring with some kid in a Rubies Obi-Wan costume. But every time he'd pose this kids left arm, he'd drop his right arm. So he'd adjust his right arm, and he'd drop his left arm! In midday open sun, and I'm basically wearing a massive solar panel!!! Torture.

Good lord I was laughing my ass off watching you try to put that Vader suit on thinking mini me the whole time! LOVED IT. That suit is nowhere near worth $1,500.00 though. Even just looking at it through a tv screen it looked very cheap. I would expect for $1,500.00 for the material to be high end leather, and for the control boxes on his belt to not look like cheap plastic. I would also expect that the chest control panel to not show the straps. They should have had that built into the suit itself so that its placement was already perfect, and so no straps are needed. Plus you're right that it shouldn't be so damn difficult to get that cape on, and the should pieces shouldn't fall off so easily. They should never send out a product to be reviewed if they know it's a cheap product. And if they didn't know then that says a lot about them.

The thing I like about this rig and the subsequent adventure we've all just shared is that I feel you now possess a much deeper and more profound understanding of the actual piss and frustration that Anakin had to live with 24/7 for at LEAST a galactic standard year before this new and horrible reality became something resembling manageable. This becomes VERY evident ( and Burt Reynolds outtakes hilarious ) when you don the helmet and engage your existing saber muscle memory which in turn fails you in a MOST spectacular ( and Cannonball Run outtakes hilarious ) fashion. And let's not gloss over your attempt to simply walk and navigate the room in a manner that by comparison made Hayden Christensen look like Mikhail Nikolayevich Baryshnikov coming off of that operating table. 😁 Anywho, it's good looking rig that with some minor improvements to make it more user-friendly would make it a real winner. My only major beef is that control plate which needs to be sewn into the jammies at a height that reflects what we know from the movies and reinforced for strength and stability. Great video. I also have the complete Darth Vader Outfit. I paid around $1000 for it. The only difference is that my chest plate doesn't light up properly. Gotta tape the lights in place. And my helmet is in 4 different pieces that needs to be assembled as it is put on piece by piece. Well I'm sure it's well made and of course anything Darth, is not only popular and legendary...but it is also a work of art. The only problem is it is very cumbersome, even the actors needed help with their costumes, and it looks like it's awkward to put on by yourself. Can you imagine how tragic it must have been to have all of that just to maintain life support for poor Darth. The emperor had him where he wanted him. A suggestion is that the panel should be placed on by velcro and then just pushed onto the suit rather than have adjustable straps, those are ridiculous and they're in the way. The belt should be more adjustable as well.

A very honest review and something people should really consider before splashing cash. I agree, that unless you are 6ft+ It doesn't work, because on a shorter person the head looks too big and you start to look like the vader parody out of Space Balls. They should make a costume for size, so a slightly smaller head peace (if possible) for shorter guys, and definately better adjustable straps. Totaly agree that for best results its a 2 person dress costume. Its too hard for one person to put all those parts on without help. Great review.

I once as a kid purchased a Darth Vader mask from target. At the time I thought $25 was a lot of money. But it had such a cool design because the face mask had the front portion and then you attached the hood portion with Velcro that was on it. It worked out really well, so you didn’t have to try and squeeze your head into the hole of a single piece mask. And then you could do a dramatic reveal if someone were to redeem you.
