While, yes, it's definitely because of Peter Dinklage opening his ugly face, there's actually a very good reason to use CG dwarves: To add more of the cartoony nature of the original back into the movie, because there's things you can get away with in animation that just doesn't work in a wholly live-action atmosphere. Like, if they wanted Dopey to wiggle his ears like a cartoon as a bit of a gag, if he was being played by a real human being -- either real dwarf or shrunken by perspective -- it'd look really out-of-place and weird. But if it's very obviously CG, and kind of cartoony, then it could work.

I can't sympathize with any actresses aging out of the hot roles category because that's been happening for over a century. Every 40+ year old movie star complaining now about the lack of lead opportunities was someone who, 20 years prior, had pushed out an earlier 40 year old and so on and so forth going back generations. It's the system they signed up for and to protest only when it's their turn to face the music is pathetic.

@victorcates933021 сағат бұрын
Actresses may age out. But some of them might start to disappear or slow because they have children. Rachel McAdams, Emily Blunt, Amy Adams are mothers. Unless they drag their children around or leave them for months on end, they're forced to have slow things down. And the nature of the pressure may have changed. In the past, it might have been a male view that they didn't want to look at someone over the age of 30. Now, a lot of these projects are meant to appeal to teenagers (as they have zero taste but decent amount of disposable income). If a teenage girl views someone over the age of 30 as too old to empathize with in a trite fantasy of empowerment, that's a different problem. Actresses aren't being put on icebergs and cut adrift in the name of patriarchy, but in the name of empowerment. It's the current problem with Daisy Ridley. Pretty sure men find her attractive enough. But she's not in princess territory anymore and that's the only thing Hollywood does currently.

Not only is Disney in denial, they're also delusional. Certainly they must have figured that the "dwarves" would make wonderful little action figures and this way they wouldn't have to pay anything to anyone but themselves. And speaking of Mr Dinklage, I seen him appropriate a giant's part in a Marvel movie. What was that about? Just sayin'.

I don't understand why they copyright claim trailers. IT'S ADVERTISING. Shouldn't they want it to pop up everywhere. A trailer is something they let out so people can see that the film exists and get hyped to see it. They don't make money directly from it. That's not what it's for. They actually have to PAY for people to see it because that's how advertising works, so they should WANT people spreading it for free, because then it's free advertising for Disney.. How do they not understand that?
@EvilDoresh12 сағат бұрын
Of course they _have_ to make a trailer because it's expected for a big cinematic "event", but they also want to limit the amount of people having access to it out of shame.

It's not even about prettiness. Fair didn't mean pretty, not directly. It was derived from the old beauty standards. Fair meant PALE. Hence SNOW WHITE. They certainly can't go that way.
@sandman_says_runrunner4701Күн бұрын
That is all kinds of wrong. Does fair refer to "having very little color, coloring, or pigmentation : very light", yes. But it also refers to "pleasing to the eye or mind especially because of fresh, charming, or flawless quality", which is the application in this story.
@snakedogmanКүн бұрын
The original tale is German though, and they used the word "schön" which does not mean "pale" (or fair as in "balanced") but simply "beautiful". Of course the "white" still refers to her skin in German too. "so weiß wie Schnee, so rot wie Blut und so schwarzhaarig wie Ebenholz" as her mother had wished for. The original tale is very obviously and clearly about beauty (although with the subtext of inner beauty and goodness as well, which the evil queen does not have, but snow white does).
@bad-people6510Күн бұрын
@@sandman_says_runrunner4701 Her name was her description for f^^k sake. Paleness was considered a beauty standard because it was something difficult for women to achieve outside the upper classes, who had access to makeup, and who could avoid tanning. The ravages of the sun which afflicted the women of the peasantry. Also why the makeup itself back in the day was ghostly white. It wasn't two distinct definitions, the concepts were synonymous. Hence why I said one was derived from the other.
@sandman_says_runrunner4701Күн бұрын
@@bad-people6510 "Her name was her description for f^^k sake." Well duh. But that has ZERO to do with the topic at hand. The Evil Queen was noble too douche canoe. If that is really what the Queen was asking she would have said, "Who is the fairest of all the nobles?", since the peasantry could have had tons of more beautiful women than her but was only eliminated due to having darker skin. It is not synonymous; it is an aspect or facet of beauty in that time. You really think the Evil Queen was asking who was the whitest one of all?! 🤣🤣🤣 You rode the short bus to school didn't you?!

I think we should coin "The Zegler Effect" for when the star of a project acts so out of line that they damage the project beyond repair by making the general public actively root for it to do poorly. Or refer to a character who is hated to the point it harms the work they're in purely because the actor is so despicable as "A Zegler" akin to "A Mary Sue". She's certainly not the first person to do this, but unlike other actors and actresses who have done that this is quite literally all she is known for: she's only been in a small handful of movies, nearly all of them are aggressively mid, and she's not known as the face of any of them.

*What is more cringe:* *1.* Zegler being 'fairer' then Gal Gadot Or *2.* The idea that a King/Queen would ever expect themselves (with the unparalleled responsibility of making thousands of decisions) to be 'the fairest & most moral person in the land'. Because to be a great leader, often means acknowledging how unfair things can be - but encouraging them to happen anyway. For example, the martyrdom of Leonidas' 300, the martyrdom of so many people on the titanic, the naturally disproprionate spread of wealth/resources between the leaders (aka the rich) and the followers (aka the poor), the physically biological differences between male and female, the unfairness of the weather, unpredictability of wild animals, the random chances of you dying from a small wound or disease (like the native Americans did), random acts of god ect If a leader ignores these naturally occuring, highly unfair things - then he is bound to fail. A great leader embraces the threat of these imbalances so passionately - that when injustice strikes, he is prepared to do whatever necessary to lessen the blow on everyone. They are too busy, distracted, and pragmatic, to care about 'fairness' lol

If you're finding yourself disappointed at what your favourite actor or singer or whoever is doing, you're in too deep. Why have any expectations of them other than great acting? Fuck 'em, every celeb, no matter their views. They're in the limelight to act and that's it, anything else they do out here is irrelevant and embarrassing for them.
