Most big names of the industry have. EA, Ubisoft, Blizzard, Bioware, etc. Bethesda isn't looking so hot either, TES6 HAS to absolutely BANG for them to survive the next decade. The only big name from the old guard that still seems to be doing well is Rockstar, but even they have their own host of controversies with abandoning RDR2 DLC, the MTX hellscape of GTA Online, and their parent company Take 2 generally being absolute pieces of garbage. Gaming is a battlefield of an industry right now. There are some good names, but even the best of them have been corrupted over the years. So today's allies are likely tomorrow's enemies at this point. And it's difficult to trust any studio to have the consumer's best interest in mind during development.

If a developer puts in work making a skin knowing its purpose is to produce real money from transactions but then all the players do is use cheat engine to get it. Then they don’t see the value in their work. What’s the point at that point? Why even create the item if people are just going to “steal” it. The whole point in devs creating these things is purely for financial gain, obviously. You want to hurt the game companies but it’s the devs who are hurting.

Some companies do not want their products to be used. They want you to buy (a license for) them, but they hate people actually using them. That's why their use is made intentionally complicated.

They used to have the most diverse set of games from tactical fps like rainbow 6, Third person tactical shooters like ghost recon, platformers like Rayman, stealth games like Splinter cell, and survival fps like far cry 2. Today, they killed most of their IPs by chasing trends and greed.
