Today I saw a lfs employee shut down a woman looking to get betta for her daughter for Christmas. Surprisingly the woman actually listened. She came in for a fish that could live in a bowl and left empty handed even though the store sells bowls and bettas lol. Christmas miracle.

My mom once took the guard off the filter and kinda guided my fish up it so that it was torn to shreds. I was like seven and I was heartbroken for months. Thankfully, I was able to get more fish for my birthday and took (pardon the pun) betta care of them. Unfortunately, my days of caring for fish had come to an end about four years ago, but I’m trying to get more fish now. :’)

I honestly think for the first one, the reason they were putting it in the toilet is because they thought it was ACTUALLY dead. Maybe it was still in the tank and wouldn't respond (sleeping) and they scooped it up. Obviously it wasn't moving in the net. But I do actually understand your view because... Why would they record flushing their fish??

I still feel bad for a goldfish i killed when i was 4 my mum had taught me to look after them and i now look after my 2 own planted tanks since last year so the story is when i was 4 we had a googly eye black goldfish we had always looked after dogs, so my mum came down to find me dragging a poor goldfish on a leash because I thought they needed exercise i meant well but the fish sadly died and i use this as my example to care for my fish after my mum had to give up and sold the tank and once i became 16 i decided to retake up old hobbys and decided a fish tank would be good to help me study and now i have a 5 gallon a 15-20 gallon and a 10 gallon which is the one i look after for my mum all tropical tanks planted

My betta tank is a 10 gallon tank divided in half so there is 5 gallons on each side ( the tank already has a heater, filter, gravel, and shorter dequor), for the holidays I will be putting in live plants for my one betta (I never got to getting another betta) and adding in a few tank mates . I have a backup plan if the tank mates do not work . I do not have a plant type substrait, but will be using a weekly aquarium plant fertilizer .please do not tell me to get a plant substrate, I know it would be beneficial for the plants but seen as this is my first planted aquarium I would like to see if it will work withought .the fertilizer is called LeafZone by API . I am open to ideas on how to improve my tank .

Never believe a fish is dead until you've made absolutely sure. My first goldfish jumped out of his 60 gallon tank and I found him laying on the ground "dead". I had a cry and buried him in the garden in a tupperware cause I felt weird about things eating his body. Then I looked up how long fish survive out of water to find out how long he suffered. I was shocked! In a cool room on a hard surface, goldfish can seal their gills up overnight! We rushed out to dig him up and put him back in the tank where he started moving! And here I am 4 years later, he just celebrated his 9th birthday. He did turn completely white after the incident...

Watching your videos inspired me to make my fish tanks look more natural. I started out with dark green gravel and plastic plants. I have 10 tanks, mostly 20 gallon long tanks. All are cory catfish except 3 bettas someone brought to me because they were really sick. Now they are healthy and happy. Anyway, my tanks now have carib sea super natural sand and only live plants. You would probably give me a 4 until all of the plants grow out. It's a miracle that the plants lived. I am one of those people that can kill a plant just by looking at it. Update: Over a year ago and things are going good. My fish are happy and healthy and breeding like crazy.

First I'm jealous all all your 20longs. My husband doesn't know it yet, but I have a secret plan to stack 20 longs...right now ai have a 5, 10, and just got my first 20l for my birthday. He may figure it out when I ask for my 2nd at Christmas. --- anyhow - what kind of plants do you use? I have a few anubias i haven't killed and have a jave fern but just started moving everything from plastic to planted (around a month same as the 20). -- would appreciate advice from someone recently there

@@Loralanthalas I use anubias. I had Amazon sword but I looked at them and they died. I have been trying to find a good home for my fish, tanks and everything. My health problems are making it hard to keep them as clean as I want to. I live in an attic and it's hard to carry thany many gallons of water upstairs.

So... i have an issue. I cant grow algae. Ive tried raising light hours to 14 hours a day increasing ferts and everything. Nothing worked. My plants always suck up the nutrients too quickly. I dont know what I'm doing wrong. Or right. Its all my heavily planted tanks that don't grow any algae

I don't know about that betta fish in the beginning if it connects to one of those boxes that it's dead but if it's one of those lines that connect to the river then it could have probably lived

I know I'm kinda late to the party here, but I'm new to your channel. I kinda wonder if the person who put the betta in the toilet for tiktok likes is in the U.S. because it's actually illegal in the states to flush a fish down the toilet. Doesn't matter if the fish is alive or dead. Just a random fact I happened across while doing research trying to find something to eat ditalams. I actually had no idea, growing up we always flushed our fish when they died. But apparently this law has been a thing for at least 40 years.

I have two male bettas that share a 10-gallon tank (obviously their sides are separated and they can’t see each other)... and my grandma has bettas as well but for just about all my life she’s kept her fish in a 1.5 gallon tub that was once a container used for cheese puffs.. without a heater, no filter, and nothing else in the tub other than water and the fish and a little light... it makes me so sad to see it because all he does is sit there and most likely just sleeps constantly due to boredom... back in January my grandma had to stay with us for a long time so I tried to offer to put her fish in one of the other small unused 2.5 gallon tanks I have but she said it was ok... but all I could think was no it’s not ok 😭 I don’t know how she’s able to get them to live 3.5+ years

I don’t toss the fish until its white in the eye and floating. If there was any ammonia build up, I’ve never noticed because I don’t have any other fish in the tank.

gives nice but artificial fish tank 3/5 gives non filtered non heated tank with no aeration 4.5/5 :(

nicholas francis Not all tanks need those things, bro. 😂 I have a 40 gallon no filter, no heater tank and it’s been running for four years. Monthly water change of about 50% and a monthly trim of the plants. Stocked with a female betta and platies. About 200 shrimp and nerite snails. The platies breed like crazy and the female betta eats a huge majority of the fry. I don’t even feed her. I drop live black worms in there now and again and frozen blood worms, granular food for the platies once every other day and this tank thrives. People are so ott with their tanks a lot of the time but if you know what you’re doing you can keep a no filter tank.

My Beta is in a 5 gallon tank. I have his filter on the lowest setting. He plays in the flow. He comes up from below the nosel and when the water jet hits his body he rides the wave. He also likes to hang out on top and under the filter. Got to love how he plays.
