SO much good here, with little time to catch a breath from one "wow" to another! After beginning work on a high volume mold (circa 34 kilo HDPE), the energy requirements led me to focus on heating the mold with a parabolic reflector- and here we see such already being employed! I jumped with excitement!

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the transition to larger equipment, as im sure many on their Precious Plastic pathway will have investigated at some point. Very informative. Please do create the welding video. Possibly think about a video on dowelling and creating a solid joint too - as weldments and assemblies are a very good 'enabler' for the PP equipment to produce larger products.

It Is difficult to reason with people which seems to think that open source plastic recycling done by communities Is as Dangerous for the enviroment as those entities that are actually plastic producers. My advice would be, start to get your hands dirty with the research for a solution, before closing your eyes with and easy judgment.

Honestly, a lot of these plastics would be far easier to recycle locally by makers if manufacturers would just CHILL THE F OUT WITH THE LABELS/ADHESIVES. Getting manufacturers to stop with some of their nonsense will go a long way. Won't be as splashy or get you a bunch of clicks, but it would probably affect the outcome more.

I think we would all agree to that. If you watched until the end, you will have seen that one part of Flipflopi's work is to work on regulations and laws to tackle the problem from the source - as recycling alone is only to clean up the mess, so we need to make sure we avoid the mess from happening in the first place. Tough one though, sadly the industry is powerful. :/

@@Precious_PlasticHQ Yeah I wrote that before reaching the end of the video, and you're right. It will probably take regulations. Specific regulations need to be proposed. Manufacturers won't propose them on their own; society has to get together and ram this change through them. First option is just to ban single use plastics, but that would be tricky. The next would be to produce a universal standard container spec which meets specifications for recycling (and come complete with tooling to actually do it). Go in increments from 0.5L and increase in powers of 2. Once that's in place, require the manufacturers and designers to produce a similarly spec'd product. Shift their financial focus from "making things pretty" to "making things functional". If they want to save on those extra costs, they can just use the universal standard.
