I'm not sure the population is that high in James' area ... He's probably made the call to suffer the loss than have his name trashed because he charged to repair damage (which if he hadn't spotted the nearside wheel when it was returned could be claimed wasn't damaged by them ...) I'd say James has made the right call - hopefully he'll inspect more carefully next time as discussing all of the damage at the time is far better to de-escalate than highlighting it when you notice it
@JohnClark-ew8dh5 сағат бұрын
I get the approach of most saying you should charge her for this, that and all the rest but sometimes just washing your hands and being done with it is worth the avoidance of faff and stress. If the lady that bought it doesnt want a potentially costly repair done for free then it probably isnt worth dragging it out any more than you have to. Yes its money lost, but just just writing it off and moving on is what I'd do. You can fix the wheels, the brakes and the cat, but you cant fix stupid.

What you should have done is not gone out St away, said bring it in, any code is always something wrong, just clearing it never lasts. You could have then fitted a cat at your leisure, checked the brakes, given her the car back. You've made the car look a liability by mentioning the brakes, people just panic, if she'd have said I want to reject it, just say no I'm fixing it, what's she gonna do? Now as you say it'll drop in the book, wheels to do, I find if I get a car back it never does as well as before, it's as tho everyones seen it and it's oh there's a problem, I actually sometimes retire a car for a couple of weeks, to wait for fresh viewers.
