Holy shit do I relate to this. Also a plumber, working on sites, HATED it. Always said I'd never be like my dad and work my hands to the bone for 45 years. When I made the jump to live in a van and do training to get off the tools, they all thought I was a loser. Now I'm working from my laptop, living in my van, travelled the world and life is fantastic! Great video mate!

@reuben8824 I started with SMSTS then did Project Management qualification, I managed to snag a job with these 2 qualifications and my previous experience as a heating engineer with a renewable energy company and then worked my way up to a Contracts Manager. 6 years I've been off the tools and never been healthier and happier. Hope that helps mate! It's all about getting the right opportunities!

That’s so true. When someone doubts you, it’s rarely about your abilities. What’s really happening is they’re imagining themselves in your shoes, projecting their own fears and limitations, actually doubting themselves. Their doubt reflects only their own insecurity, never your potential. Realizing this myself has allowed me to rise above negativity and stay confident in my own path. Back in 2011, my British husband and I (American) were living in the U.K., couldn’t make enough to afford anything other than a mouldy flat and we decided that we were going to move to the US and become long haul team truck drivers. When we told others about our plans, the general response we got was “You’re not going to be truck drivers, are you? That won’t last!” Anyway, we worked as team drivers for 8.5 years. We now own our house and car outright and have our retirement savings and a huge cushion for unforeseen medical expenses if necessary. My husband now does local trucking work 3 days per week and I am retired (I was 46 when I finished work). So screw those people who try putting you down!

Fortune favors the brave, but there is little difference between brave and foolish and working out whether you are being brave or foolish will be the hardest thing to determine. In fact it’s impossible. The proof will be in the pudding. You’ll either get lucky and be able to say “see, told you so” or you’ll land on your face and probably won’t ever come clean about it. That’s usually how these things roll. Basically, you are living on a wing and a prayer as is your way. You flaunt it here on KZbin to try and capitalise on your gamble (why not, good idea as long as you are happy to give up this element of your privacy and sometimes dignity, generally speaking, not specifically) There is no right or wrong. No explaining to do. No need to respond to the comments of doubters. You need a thick skin, and from my own observations the most successful YT channels are the ones who do not engage with their audience in the comments section. In a world where you have put all of your chips on luck, I say to you, good luck.

Si, I honestly feel sorry for these people that just spill misery everywhere they go. What your doing is a testament to your beliefs. Although we live different lives, we have a very similar mindset. I am living in Asia, yes I work online, but I am as flexible as can be. I can not conform to these horrendous systems. I always questioned the schooling system and it's indoctrination. Most people would think I wear a tin foil hat but I think we'd have an interesting convo. Hopefully someday! The doubters have no clue what they are talking about. In fact, the results you've had in the timeframe you've consistently posted videos is pretty remarkable, actually. You've been paid in the hundreds of dollars and racked up hundreds of thousands of views, and are closing in on 10,000 subscribers. It can take a couple of years for some creators. Keep grinding at it. Whether you need to get a job and save, I have no doubt this will eventually take off enough to support your lifestyle. You're very interesting as well. I don't really condone the rude comments, although I see where they're coming from, but I personally I think that the vast majority of people who try and live like you want to portray will end up in a lot of trouble over time. People were sitting around campfires, holding hands, singing kumbaya and knitting their own slippers decades ago so there's nothing new here. Remind us again how you got out of debt, bought your van and had some excess funds to travel again? Was it working hard and living frugally? One thing I can guarantee is that life will pass more quickly than you thought possible and if you don't feel like working when you're younger you certainly won't when you're older in my experience. The world is also a changing place, and most of it not for the better, so it will be interesting to see where it all ends up. Maybe you will unlock something and make a go of it but we shall see.
