Dress looks great and you look lovely in it 💃 I subscribed to Renata a little while ago, love her content too 😃 as well as sewing I do a little bit of jewellery making too, very much a novice but I like doing it and occasionally I get some ideas that combine the two hobbies, when I saw your dress and you were talking about gape issue I had an idea that might elevate the popper idea. If you get some lobster claws and jump rings (the fasteners for necklaces) you could stitch a few jump rings to either side of the open neckline cut varying length chains (smallest towards the v part of the neckline getting longer as you go towards the neck) and add lobster claws either side of the chains and then attach to one side of the jump rings, put on the dress and fasten the other side and you have a decorative closure! You could use old neck chains that you already have, diamanté or Pearl chains for that really special dress, but the findings for doing this are pretty cheap on Amazon. Haven’t tried it obviously because it has just occurred to me 😃 but I have a dress that gapes so may just have a go to see if it works lol xx

So pretty, I’ve been looking at this pattern for a while now, I’m so glad you made it. Next time you use fray check, try ironing it. You’ll find it will soften and dry the fray check.

You look beautiful in the dress. Personally, I wouldn’t make it because I just don’t look right in it and it’s too low in the neckline. I’m short as well 😒. However, there are other patterns out there that do look good on me and I love see what other people make. It’s always nice to learn something new too. My husband helped set up my new sewing machine, which weighs a ton, yesterday 🥳. I’m trying to decide what I want to make first! Thank you for sharing! Your friend Diane ❤️

That dress is stunning on you, it looks amazing. I love doing a little thread chain, there is something about it isn't there and I always smile to myself thinking "hey look at me, I made a chain "🤣😆. You can't beat a bit of hand stitching finishing here and there PLUS you can watch tv at the same time rather than whirring away on a machine 👏🏼. It feels quite "Downton Abbey, posh lady in a room after dinner " kind of feel 🤣. Great video as always 😊

Thanks so much for this video. I’m just about to make this. I’m at the beginning of my dressmaking journey and I’m struggling to see where the instructions are to make the dress. The only instruction booklet I got with the pattern was how to make the top. Am I missing something? Many thanks
@ruthlanwarne89786 ай бұрын
Your jumpsuit is gorgeous and the fabric and pairing is spot on. I like to follow the instructions and rarely go my own way. I’m so behind that I’m still waiting to make the Avenir jumpsuit. I can’t wait to make that. Is that jumpsuit quite complicated to make trips to the loo as it has that tie detail ? Otherwise it’s perfect for you 😊
@theyorkshiresewgirl6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much - no not complicated at all which is great - and because the waistline is elasticated it's so easy to pop back on! It's a winner for me!

I’m such a fan of Rainbow Fabrics. I did have a problem with my last order. I’d ordered 2m of a terracotta corduroy fabric, which my son had chosen for a pair of trousers. When it arrived there was only 1.15m. I emailed them and included a photo of the fabric with a tape measure against it. Got a phone call the following day and agreed they would either send me a replacement 2m or I’d get a refund. Got a refund a couple of hours later. Mistakes happen, but prompt response makes such a difference. Should add I’ve ordered loads of fabric from them previously and not had problems. Always impressed with the quality too.

There’s a trick with paper, I saw but don’t know where. So your machining isn’t so fiddly trying to sew something small. 🙄 sorry that was very vague. It may have been on Pinterest. 💝
@Made_by_Julia2 жыл бұрын
Put a piece of tissue paper under the fabric. After sewing you can just tear it. This way the machine won't eat the fabric. 😊
