Soleimani is the enemy, but that neither makes him a bad guy or a terrorist. The American government and many nations governments around the world have been enemies of the Iranian government since some time in 1979. Soleimani was most obviously a valid and considerable adversary , proven by all the rhetoric coming out of the Trump Administration. If the foreign affairs experts truly believe killing him is somehow making life better for Americans and their allies, then I have to accept that, but even enemies deserve respect. The man is dead and the poor treatment of many people in the Middle East from the Western world continues. US foreign policy goals are 1. Secure access to cheap oil for US oil majors to extract 2. Ensure that US multinational corporations have privileged access to markets 3. Ensure that any form of socialism that pushes back against capitalist elites is strangled at birth 4.
