I have a 2015 optima, i want to put sound dampening material in the door but I'm scared of the latch part of the process.

I started a project of adding sound dampening material inside the doors and could not for the life of my figure out how to get that door carrier part off. I had to put everything back together to much of my chagrin. Is there any additional information you could provide that would be helpful? Must the window be disconnected? And the key/lock actuator. what do I do there? Any info is helpful. Thank you much.

How do you do this if the window is all the way down? Or rather how do you get the window back up if it is in the down position when the regulator goes out?

remove the window motor. That should allow you to push the glass up

Is it possible to put a bolt or something in here somewhere to just keep the window permanently in the up position and then put everything back together? Our 2016 Kia optima window regulators keep going out one by one (3rd one just went out) and we are tired of paying $150 every time for a replacement. The gear attached to the regulator that the motor gear goes into keeps cracking into pieces.

Kia carries (or can order) These. Call your local dealer with the last 8 digits of the Vin # and they can order it for you.

Thanks for the video I replaced the regulator snd motor and it works perfect, only question i have is about the auto power down on the window is there a way to reset it?

Hold the button for an additional 8 seconds after you have put the window up. That should reset it.

Where is the regulator? You were not clear or I didn’t understand. There r 2 different types of regulators for my car and I need to see the color of the regulator clips in order to know which one to buy

Hi Julie, the regulator is the entire panel you see in the video. There is only one style that fits the car. I think you will need help with this. Do a search for power window repair and the city you are in. Good luck

The regulator for front door glasses has sanwich clips that tighten to the glass, but for some dumb reason the rear ones have this plastic tab that screws into another plastic piece on the regulator, and the tab glues into the bottom of the glass with the worst metal phillips screw ever made. So if the last bozo that works on it uses the wrong size phillips head and strips the screw it's impossible to drill out or get the glass out and work on it.

Some I put the motor back on and it just spins. Am I missing a piece on the motor shaft ?

The title says 2011-2015, but you say your video is for 2013-2016... This is a great video and I have a couple questions if ANY could PLEASE help advise, I'd be very grateful for the advice 🚨I have a 2012 KIA OPTIMA SX tgdi and have an issue with my drivers side window not going up or down properly...this happened when I was visiting my sister, so when I got home the window had slide down into the door frame. As I was driving ... Got home, wrapped some duct tape with the sticky side on the outside & around it around some needle nose pliers and was able to pull the window up. I pulled the fuse & ended up getting some clear duct tape & taping my window up until I could check it out.... I don't know much about cars, but I do a little here & there.... I do like to try to take things apart and fix them & usually have a good outcome I saved my Dad about $800 one time when I fixed his riding lawnmower & my Dad was great at fixing things, God Rest his soul, I sure do miss my Dad😢he's not here to help me so I took the plastic panel off the inside of the door, I don't have a drill or electric screwdriver etc so I only had regular screwdrivers, which I thought would be okay.....they were until I discovered there is another area that needed removed it, the glass was between that area & the door frame.... I don't have the correct tools to go any further so I put everything back together & have had this window taped up for a couple months 🤦🏻‍♀️ Due to health issues, I had to quit my dream job about 9-10 years ago😢😢 I was a private duty nurse and now I'm on social security disability because I can no longer work 😢😢so I've been trying to save some money to get my car window issue diagnosed because I don't want to break or cause more problems with this window issue trying to do it myself...plus I no longer have a double garage or a garage at all to even try to repair this issue...I live in Western Pa so it's winter and cold & snowing now.... I'm not even sure if it's the regulator or motor or the window is just "off the track" and not sitting properly .....don't know the correct wording forgive me....😂I'm trying to explain the best way I know how, bare with me Anyway when this first happened I put the window down like I always do and I was headed home, I got a call so I wanted to roll up my window so I could hear my call through my speaker system, well the window was going up & about 1/2 way up it started to go slow & made this crunching noise it was scraping on something metal not like if you would take a rock and scratch glass...that noise 😂😂 So I'm not really sure what the issue is if it's a simple fix or is it a regulator/motor issue???? Any and all suggestions will be appreciated Just trying to save me a lot of headaches with this repair...I refuse to go to the dealership...I've had many bad experiences with an employee there and his lies a lot & is creepy...ever since I refused to go on a date with him when I took my car in for my first repair years ago!!! I caught him in a few lies about my car parts & orders he was supposed to place, but found out he never did & when I showed up to my appt he gave a BS story, I finally had it with his lies & spoke with his manager about it and he confirmed that I was correct, the guy never placed the orders, even though he said he did....I've had a few other issues with KIA dealerships, so I don't trust them to tell me what may actually be wrong or just try to rip me off and say more is wrong So please help...how could I check myself if it's a motor or regulator issue or the window glass just may be "knocked off center" Thank you in advance to anyone who took the time to read my long story & may offer some guidance

That would be the clips on the regulator that came off the bracket. You will be replacing the regulator as shown in the video. Possible you didn't tighten down the glass clips to the glass?

@@PowerUpAuto I did tighten the right side where there is an open hole where the speaker is. I don’t see the clips moving when I connected to power. I bet it’s an easy fix I just am having a little trouble
