I actually remember a story on 1000 Ways to Die that is similar to one in this video. That being #4: Air Pressure Enema. i was crossing a bridge over the bayou w my aunt when we saw a gator sunbathing on some pavement next to the water. we stopped to check out , i kept a safe distance and was ready to run to safety in case it charged. but my aunt sat down on the ground like five feet IN FRONT OF IT and kept inching closer. i immediately warned her and even started begging her to stop. my aunt is not athletic at all , she has to struggle to get up when she sits down. alligators are by no means slow animals. she obv doesn't understand predators, she just couldn't grasp that the gator will still attack you even if it isn't acting aggressive. she kept telling me that "it's fine, it's just sitting there". it absolutely could have had her if it wanted. it could have grabbed her and dragged her in the water in the time that it would take for her to even process that it happened , and there would have been nothing i could do to save her. luckily alligators actually aren't that aggressive (unlike crocodiles) and she was able to get up and we left without incident. but they're still opportunist predators and she def gave it every opportunity. i don't think she realizes just how stupid and dangerous that was

I heard about a young teen who lost his life because of a grenade incident. Russian grenades of that era have what we called an 'igniter set'. The version of igniter set is the timer for the grenade and can be as long as (to my knowledge) up to seven seconds and is used to set the delay for the type of use intended. One version is a zero second delay for use as a booby trap. If they thought, they were going to throw it to see the effect, as soon as the safety lever (sometimes called a spoon) was released, the grenade detonates with no opportunity to dispose of it.

The dumbest thing I've ever done which caused pain? Lol...you're gonna love this. In the early 90s, I was briefly involved with a girl who managed a store for "adult bedroom toys". She had a device called a "violet wand", essentially a harmless static electricity stimulation toy which really isn't at all painful...except...when a metal tooth filling in my mouth came in contact with a certain piece of metal body jewelry as I held the wand, acting as a conductor. All I have to say is...you don't know true pain until you've had a static charge shoot through your tooth. An abrupt end to an otherwise pleasant evening.

I went to Charleston, South Carolina last weekend and saw an alligator for the first time. But I was on a tram going through a nature preserve and he stayed in the water. At no point did I get the notion to get off the tram and pet it!

I have 2 incredibly stupid things that come to mind. The first one is when I was a kid I jumped out of a tree because I saw a spider, which I regretted immediately after. The second one was when I had mowed my lawn on a hot day and I was concerned about the mower over heating, so I placed my full palm on the side of the engine and melted the whole thing. I spent a month putting that hand in a cold bucket of water and fortunately didn't need a skin graft, but it was so painful and very difficult to treat.
