@@aprilleerose so true. There are more tigers in captivity in the US alone, than all those left in the wild.

Actually, the owner may be right. The problem is that the animal itself is ENORMOUS and immensely strong. Those who have cats, like I do, know that sometimes - depending on the animal's "personality" - they can attack and bite, and yes, they are trying to play. Some cats are like this, others not so much. I have a permanent scar from playing with a teenage cat, 6 years ago. Now imagine, a freaking tiger or a lion. The difference is, indeed, the animal's size.

Giving a child any sort of pet with the purpose of letting a CHILD be responsible is just torture for the animal. Think of parents buying their kids hamsters, most of the time they live in constant abuse because a child doesn’t know anything about hamsters and the parents never did any research on it either. But, my mum once got me a tarantula for my birthday and she lived in a cage in our living room (He was a columbian hairy spider so he wasn’t afraid of being on display) she did plenty of research, and took care of him herself, we respected him, and he’s still alive even today, because we cared.

A new world tarantula like the ones that they got is normally harmless.those hairs don't really do much besides cuase light irration unless you let them get in your eyes. The real iusse is getting a pet without researching it and relying on pet shop for informantion.even dog when improperly cared for due to lack of resreach can become dangerous in fact dogs are more dangerous cuase unlike truanaucla they can actually killed when not trained and socialised properly. But sure lets owes blame exotics/the type of pet rather then poeple getting animals without resreach or being prepared.since it's obvouisly the animal that matters.

@guardiansanimalrescuestate72893 жыл бұрын
So true. I only believe in keeping them for education and conservation, and for the making of antivenin which saves many many lives every year. Or if an animal was rescued and it was unable to be returned to the wild, then that’s the only way they should get zoo animals. I absolutely hate the illegal and legal exotic pet trade. Those tiny monkeys that everyone thinks r adorable dressed up in a diaper and clothes........most don’t know that they r ripped off the back of their mother when only 2 days old. Most also take all of their teeth out at this time so they won’t ever be able to bite. They r then sold for top dollar. And they end up with a diaper and clothes in a persons house. And they wonder why the poor thing is acting out. Monkeys are very social animals and live their entire lives in a family group. And on top of that, the mom mourns the loss of her baby until she is pregnant again. The cries coming from both the mom and baby are just heartbreaking. They can hear each other but can’t get to each other. They make sure the baby is bottle feeding and they remove the teeth before they go to their new owners. So the mom and baby can hear each other for that week. It’s just so so wrong.
@LizC-hq6tt3 жыл бұрын
@@guardiansanimalrescuestate7289 I agree 100% It's truly sickening what humans are capable of, for $, and status, & just because... Then people who think they love them but them treat them like humans and just can't understand why they ripped their friends face, fingers, ECT... example. Travis the chimp... They said they treated him like he was their son... The day Travis attacked her friend the owner had given him a Xanax (which doesn't work the same on chimps as it does ppl, and again humanizing him..) because he was obviously making her nervous. That chimp was losing his shit is what he was doing, from years of being treated like a Human... None of his instincts were ever gratified, I imagine that had to have been incredibly frustrating to for him.. it's just sad what people do to animals for really selfish reasons...
