Thanks so much for posting this -- you saved my Cricut from the trash. Took me just under two hours, including looking for suitable tools... I didn't have a small-enough ratchet so I wound up using a 1/4" box wrench to turn a Phillips bit. Man, this machine was not designed to be serviced, especially by somebody with large hands! But I'm back up and running here. Much appreciated!

This is definitely the best step-by-step video for how to do this. It took me a bit longer than it should have, but with my hubby and son's help, we got it done. The hardest part is those damn 7 screws that are so hard to get at! And, of course, we kept dropping the c clamps. LOL. But thank you! Very thorough and well presented! We were definitely able to follow every step.

This is amazing! So glad I can pay $11 for replacement wheels rather than buying an entirely new machine and chucking the one I have in the landfill. A little annoyed that Cricut doesn't offer repair services...profit over the planet : ( Thank goodness for KZbin and people who aren't afraid to take things apart!

I was thinking the same thing. Every product that does not offer life time waranty, or at least some sort of repair service should not be allowed to operate as a business.

I just want to thank you for a great video. I hope Cricut sees these comments. You have done 100% more than Cricut support. I cannot see why they cannot make it accesible to fix things, they want you to re purchase another one. especially these rollers do not out last the machine itself PLEASE CRICUT.... cannot be that selfish. Therefore I thank you so much for the thorough video very clear and it worked....a pain but it worked.... last Cricut machine I will ever purchase....there is others out there just as better.

Thank you so much for making this video. I struggled with trying to decide to spend another $300 for a brand new maker. After watching your video I was able to fix the rubber rollers myself and it was not hard as I thought it would be. It took me 40 mins from start to finish, the 7 screws were the hardest to remove and put back in. I saved money and repaired a minor fix with little cost. Thanks Again!!

Thanks! I pulled (almost) all of the tools beforehand and got all the way to taking the lid cover off before a timely delay. The T9 star head screwdriver sent me on a shopping trip. Careful, the left side of the machine is a little sticky once you pop the top off. And yes, brace under, and motor bracket on top when putting it back together. They flew off so fast I had to rewatch who went first when reassembling. PS Little hands helped me to not have issues with the inside screws, a flashlight and patience took me a long way. 🎉

Thank you for this video! After watching it a few times I was able to knock it out in about 30 minutes! I used a finger ratchet for the screws under the top plate. I was however able to push the new rubber pieces on without boiling them. It was a bit of a fight but not to bad. It works perfect again. I’ve taken apart a lot of stuff which helped with the process

If you need to fix quickly and don't have time to wait for amazon rollers, OMG THIS WORKS!! Go to any auto parts store, get 5/16 fuel line tubing ($3.50) cut off your bad rollers with scissors, use bad one to measure and cut same size from fuel line. Cut through the middle and wrap around the metal bar where the roller was, pushing load until it wraps around. Mine did not close all the way, but it still worked just fine! I later cut a piece of painters tape to size and wrapped that around also. I also pushed one white plastic roller all the way over against the tubing. It was going to be a temporary fix but is still going strong and since I still have 10" of fuel line left I think I will just leave it 'and replace if it fails.

You are amazing! Thank you so much for explaining so clearly and calmly how to fix the rubber wheels issue on the Cricut Maker. I had to order the rollers twice since my puppy ate the first set, LOL. The hardest part were the C clips. If it weren't for the difficulty getting those back on, this would have been pretty quick. Maybe you know: What is that sticky stuff on the left hand side? Ew, kept getting that all over myself! So glad to find your video so I could fix this instead of having to spend a fortune on a new machine (which probably wouldn't have happened). Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Seriously, just to change the small rubber rollers you have to disassemble all maker? Why did they make it so hard? Cricut should have some kind of service to fix stuff like that. Yo buy expensive device and you can’t use it if your rollers get worn out. Such a shame. I’m so disappointed. I don’t have any skills to do it myself.

Thanks, my fix was successful, i got my rubber rings and c clips (to hold them on the rod) from Ali Express - cheap as. Thank you so much for the in-depth video! We were able to replace the rollers (from Amazon) and fix my 4 year old Cricut Maker with "ease"! Extremely helpful and appreciative. Figured that we might as well try doing it ourselves instead of spending more money to have it repaired or worse buy a new one! We followed through with your steps and was able to put it most of it back together. We stopped before putting the lid/cover on to double check that the machine would work still, and it did! The 7 screws are definitely awful to get to and does take a bit of patience. I do have a question though, does it matter whether we put all 7 screws (the annoying ones) back in or do you think we can make do with 3 of them (the ones towards the center)?

Thanks for such a detailed video. Stripped it down (challenging) and replaced the rollers then carefully put it back together but I’m noticing a couple of perforated vertical lines through every thing I print and the same corroded roller seems to be wearing down again. 🥴 Don’t know why but I will dismantle it again and give it another go. I was so proud to have tackled it the first time. Here I go again!
@theZimvideo
@theZimvideo 7 ай бұрын
The perforated lines are from the white rings on the bar they can be slid around the bar so the perforations don’t intersect with anything important in your work. Thanks for supporting the channel. Good luck.

Ahhh didn’t think of that! You’re right but when I move them I can see the imprint of where they were so is it possible that the bar is maybe pressing too hard? Which lid the top one or the front one? when I put mine back together the front one would not close the spring was not springing properly to keep it closed but eventurally it started to work. if it's the top one could the top case not be fully put back correctly like the slots in the back that I showed in the video did not get lined up correctly? hope you can figure it out. without seeing it it's impossible for me to know what's happening. Thanks for supporting the channel I appreciate it. Unfortunately it's unclear to me what your issue is. The bar is not spinning? The right side of the form urs vs mines is a tad bit different. You unplugged the motor thingy from the right side but didn’t remove it… neither did I… butttt… now the left side where u moved the c clamp form the bar behind the white gear…. (Then u went back to the right side and took that “entire piece off we could have done that earlier “in the video) that the c clamp held back…”😢 it came off in my left side but won’t come off my right side because of the motor🤔. Which I believe is causing my bar to be stuck

Thank you for this. I have a Cricut Explorer 2 but its basically the same. The pressure feet just got ate up over time and I hate throwing things away that I know can be fixed and used. We waste so much in modern society its sad. We live in a world with finite resources. We treat the planet like its a throw away commodity. That's why I am always trying to use recycled materials for projects, or repurposed materials as much as I can. This should help keep some of these Cricut machines out of the landfill.
