I wonder if the star dance clip being freed for Wiggler's red coins will be useful if there's some kind of like, disjointed or delayed star spawn discovered and/or a way to use it to clip through the floor or something. Wishful thinking, probably. But maybe something will be figured out some day.

I think if you use an emulator you can pull information from the emulator with a Lua script and use the game data to tell video editing software like Sony Vegas or Adobe Premier to generate arrows and circles and stuff for you. You have to know where exactly in memory all these numbers are but still it does let you automate stuff like this. I think Retro Video Game Mechanics Explained does the same thing and explained it in a video decribing his video-making process.

Doesn't the coin count overflow after 32767 on the Japanese version? So you could still use star dance clip with the previous method by getting a second 100 coin star, it would just take a really long time

I believe the game would crash before you got that many coins, and I'm not sure it'd work anyway.

@@BaufenBeast I'm not sure if that's a huge concern since if cloning is used, the pipes will soft reload the level and clear out the clones, so any time the level gets close to the limit just pop through the pipe and you're good to go. The real question is if there's a way to duplicate coins other than the big piranhas, I can't think of any Bobombs or cork boxes on THI off the top of my head.
