"I like the cheaper one better" is basically my motto and really should be for the hobby as well. Sometimes those expensive sets slam, but you can get 95% of the sound for 5% of the cost most of the time. Not all the time, just most of the time.

It's amazing to see how far this hobby has progressed. From early days where you had a handful of options to now where the selection of IEMs is so big that at times it feels overwhelming when you have to decide which one to get hahah

This price bracket of IEMs has developed so well after the last couple of years. I have a Tea 2 and a Hype 2 and I honestly couldn't hear a lot of difference between them or the Hype 4 when it came out. In fact it took me jumping up to a Performer 8 to notice any real difference in my library. The diminishing returns thing is soooo real.

I'm thinking about upgrading my Chopin to an IEM with a bit more mid-bass and air for better all-around listening. Would you recommend getting the Cincotres or saving up for something like a Monarch MKIII? How much of an upgrade would the Monarch MKIII, for example, be?

We are in a point in this where individual parts' quality has greatly improved in such a way that it doesnt matter too much if the other IEM has 1 more driver too many. Quality over quantity.

What you have said in this video is exactly what I have been reading other people say on forums. That settles it, the Ziigaat CincoTres’ will be the next iem I get. I also realized that for me, it doesn’t make sense to look at the DosCinco, as I can very easily EQ the bass of the CincoTres to match or even go further than its counterpart. Plus, some reviews mention the treble being better in the CincoTres.

I have them and they're fantastic if you like quality bass. I was waiting for him to review them for weeks and when it became clear he won't (left them out of the 'best bass' iem video for some reason, leaving an obvious middle price gap that the Ziigaat could've filled) I took the chance. Bought them from Amazon for the return policy. I'm glad I did because these are my bass endgame set (coming from the Rosefinch and Legato's). They have quality and detailed sub and mid-bass with impact, you can sense the reverb very well without it sacrificing the mids and highs. It's baffling why he's so silent on the Doscincos.

Doscinco are excellent in all characteristics for their price, but the magic bass just takes Doscinco to the top. Now, if I'm thinking about buying new iem, I'll ask how the bass is compared to Doscinco. In the meantime, I have purchased a second Doscinco kit. I use ivipQ-148 for calm listening and ivipQ-129 for a more energetic and driving sound.

Great vid and comparison. Once you get to 3 drivers you can fill the frequency spectrum very well. The Hype series two fails are 1)overpriced and 2) all tuned the same. I think your set of Cincotres has a bit more bass than other graphs i’ve seen that indicate more of a mid bass tuck (I want yours!). I ordered Ziigaat’s other new 5 driver set, the Doscincos and am waiting delivery next week. The Doscincos seem to have more bass and have been getting raves about being the best bass in its price range. We’ll see and I’m sure I’ll chime in.

If you have the money, the marginal gain in performance can be worth it. but if the money is needed elsewhere or in doubt save the money and use it for somethimg else or just another set, so there can be some fun with listrning to completley differnt sound signatures

I was really split between the doscincos, cinocotres, and hype 4s, but there was virtually no info on the Ziigaats when I was purchasing so I went with the hype 4s. Could've saved some money getting the cinocotres instead.

The 300-500 range is so good. Although I haven't tried iems above this price point, looks like the choice is widening at this range and iems from this range will satisfy almost anyone. I used to watch you since 2019-ish and iems has come so far. Crazy the amount of value you get. Really curious how the doscinco and cadenza 4 will compare to this.

I was actually saving up to buy a pair of hype 4s as a wedding gift for my brother, he and his fiancee are a composer x singer couple, and I always die inside a little when I see their audio gear (currently a zero blue I gifted him and a cheap logitech headset lol) The white hype 4 was in my mind since it looked like it'd fit the wedding theme too, but maybe I'll just go with a cincotres if I can't save up enough in time hmmm... These 2DD sets are really proliferating now, huh? I wonder what, if anything, having 2 dynamic drivers working together on the low end contributes to sound quality. I've heard the double DD hybrids, Monarch mk3 and the Hype2 , but I think the best bass I have heard was from the MEST mk2.

I don't think more drivers necessarily mean better sound, sonically speaking. But I believe they do improve technicalities if well implemented, which is hard to do and that's why there are 1 dd sets that sound better than many hybrids out there.

You may not like it, but the potted plant dance is how us men who are at peak virility and masculinity move to the music. Ha. On a serious note, your thumbnail for this video was on point. I thought it was very well done. Zooming in to read the newspaper gives me shades of watching a "History Matters" documentary. The animator of that channel often includes a brief frame of a newspaper with snarky headlines and (in later videos) absurd columns lampooning that episode's topic.
