I used to think I was thinning but it turns out I just have fine hair. My hairline has stayed the same and my crown is still intact. I started massaging my scalp everyday for the past year and the strands actually got thicker. It took time but it was worth the wait.

@@teamoverdose2535 my fingers. Don't massage it with your nails, use the skin. Also when ever your scalp itches, use the numb part of your fingers, like this you don't end damaging your scalp. Keep in mind, it will take time.

I have fine hair since I could remember. Since I was a kid I used to hear other people comment my hair is so thin. I'm not gonna I was really upset and I tried to learn to embrace my hair, even though I'm still struggling to accept that. Last year I have major breakdown because of hairloss, imagine my hair is already fine and starting to lose hairs. I bawled, never forget that feeling how desperate I was. But thank God my hair is getting better, I noticed my middle scalp area has gotten less visible. I started wash my hair everyday and never forget to put on hair serum that contained minoxidil.

Whenever I go to the salon, my hairdresser complains that my hair is so thick, but the individual hair strands are kinda fine. My hair doesn't hold ANY product, even the strongest hair product out there just disappears after an hour max. My hair is dead straight and I can't do anything with it 😅

Hairdressers always called my hair thin and I never understood why it was so puffy then, then finally a good hair dresser told me "no your hair is fine, but you have alot of it, you need your ends thinned actually and that way it'll take some weight off the roots and give it more height while taking away the puffiness from the ends" best hair cuts I've ever received.

I'm African American with fine hair. It breaks and splits no matter how well I take care of it and get it professionally trimmed. I think grazing bra strap is the longest that I'll ever get. I get splits that sometimes look like tree branches. Also my hair is very slippery and it flat irons at a low temperature (345). I wish my hair strands had a large diameter.

When you have huge amount of fine hair and it's wavy, it's like wearing a huge pile of pin feathers that looks like it's swallowing me, but is actually so fluffy and lightweighted. The problem with this type of hair is that it gets very frizzy all the time and it's hard to grow it very long like I always wanted to because ends get broken and dehydrated so easily. The most important thing for this hair is to keep it constantly hydrated with appropriate products and to protect ends with oily serums.

I have fine hair, tons of it, but overall a small ponytail. It also is SUPER straight and soft and nearly impossible to hold curl/styling (heat or steam)/perm. I have to use perms for "hard to perm-type hair" to get any hope of body or curl😵

I have extra fine and thin curly hair! Stylists usually talk about making my hair look fuller and thicker, which I have never asked for. They criticize how my hair naturally grows from my head and it has turned me away from liking going to the salon. Typical curly haircuts don't work for my hair, but they insist that i need shorter hair so it is "fuller". I guess I am one of the few that actually feels confident with her fine and thin hair. I have yet to find a stylist that doesn't criticize and talks badly about "the state" of my hair (it is actually healthy!) And when I tell them I am not looking for volume, they look at me like Im an alien and tell me that I need it -sigh'

Ramazan Durmaz I think it might be mainly because I need to start blow drying my hair. My hair is thick but I do have fine hairs too. Someone mention in another comment that it’s normal to see hairfall when you wake up because when you move around in your sleep your pillow would be pulling on your hair unless you use a silk pillow casing or smth. I also am going to look into getting a scalp exfoliator especially since I sweat a lot from my head.

I'm Hispanic, nationality is Colombia 🇨🇴 and as far as my race I would say native American with European. I have a lot of hair and I can barely see my scalp but my hair is dark black it's thin and spiky kind of like hair in Asian areas. What advice would you give me? I went through a crapton of stress. Never had hair problems and anybody that has related to me hasn't lost it till late 50 yrs or older. My mom, sister, and brother all lost alot of hair but I definitely lost the most. It was back near my ear. It's been about 3 months since I started seeing baby hairs consistently growing in about 1/4 - 2/4 an inch per month. The hair is growing back, but I'm still decently stressed out. I believe my hairline is pretty close to where it normally was. The hair density is definitely alot less than it was though and my twin brother has the same density of hair I do. (Still good considering I was basically going bald from stress) How long do you think it will take for the density to completely refill? If ever? P.s (did have one patch if hair missing near back of neck, not top of head, and still do.( similar to 3 inch knife slice) 17 year old

I'm not him hairdresser but I have fine hair and I have experienced your problem. If you want to make the process of regrowing and recovering your hair as fast as possible, you're firstly gonna have to reduce stress for a longer period, like, around 2-3 months you really need to be relaxed and eat all the needed vitamins etc. So you need to be healthy inside, so outside gets healthy too, like hair. If you can't change your stressful environment and problems, consider psychiatrist and that sort of medication for some short time to calm down your nervous system. Also, it's famous advice to massage nettle drops or extract or water from cooked nettle in your scalp, cause nettle is good for growing hair faster and for hair strength too. Also, any products that contain something from nettle plant are good option for hydrating fine hair, such as hair masks. Hope this helps

I got my driver's license today's so I'll probably spend 2-3 months at the gym and at the baseball field 😅 I'm in a new school testing program that allows people to go to a separate tiny school, get their work done, and then leave whenever it's all done. It's built for people who need time off from people and are stressed out, so it should be good! Hairline quit growing in, but it's not moving back anymore, so I need to destress more for more to come back probably. So the game plan is: 4:30 Am cold dip at lake (live 5 min away) 5:00 Am - 6:30 Am workout Get ready for school Do school Go do baseball + a run, then go home and go to bed early. +Biotin shampoo and conditioner +Biotin vitamin +multivitamin

I thought I had thin hair. I definitely have fine strands of hair, but with proper care for your hair you can totslly turn the switch on! Nutrition, exercise, biotin supplements, never using heat or products, inverted massage on your scalp, and egg mask with olive oil 2 times a week, really really did an amazing job on my hair and scalp! Ok, so i think i have the worst case of having fine AND thin hair, which sucks as my hair is a big insecurity of mine. Yes, thin hair is natural because it can be because of genetucs, so you can't control it.

You really need someone who’s good. Layers if done correctly can add volume. Try just cutting the length up and vary long layers to start.

@@meganfc7094 coarse hair feels and looks thicker than fine hair. My sisters hair is fine but she has a lot of it. My hair is thin but coarse. I’d rather have fine hair that’s thick. A coarse hair strand is bigger than a fine hair strand. That’s the only way I know to explain it.

So I believe I have low density but some of my strands are thick like I’ve seen fine hair and I’ve seen my strands of hair and my strands of hair are thicker than fine hair but my hair is not full so maybe I have medium hair because my strands are thicker than a persons who has fine hair because my cousin has fine hair and I took a strand of her hair and a strand of my hair and my hair was thicker but I don’t have a full head of hair it’s weird to explain Like people thought I had thick hair because where I work I have to put my hair in a bun and my boss thought I had thick hair my boyfriends mom thought I had thick hair So maybe I have medium here now my hair does break but it’s not fine it’s thicker than fine

I have dense and thick hair. I thin it alot when I’m at the hairsalon. I find it often difficult to rinse out the shampoo when I’m in the shower. Because the water won’t go all the way down to the scalp. Struggle with irritate scalp and skin rash. Do you have any advice how to handle it better?
