At 3 minutes and 16 seconds, Phil's introduction of Gary begins, Gary answers by giving one of the most agressive-mindblowing outburst ever played on an electric guitar. RIP Gary my great hero of the guitar, your music is timeless.

Saw Gary fill in for Robertson at a Lizzy concert in Chicago in '79. The bands on the card were Lizzy, Pat Travers, and Foghat (yes, Foghat was the headliner). Pat Travers and Thin Lizzy blew Foghat away. In 1979 though, Moore was still relatively unknown in the states.

his name was Mark Narseef (sp?) he filled in for Brain Downey who dropped out of the tour for a short while because of some family issues i believe.
@harleymann59819 жыл бұрын
I think Brian Downey returned to Dublin regarding a family issue. The drummer here is Mark Nauseef

I just wish they'd remaster this, and release the entire thing on CD, rather than just the Cowboy Song and the Boys Are Back In Town. It would be awesome. :)

I too wish they would remaster this as the audio is horrible sounding. I have this on VHS video and it was released by Rhino Records. Rhino on the sleeve said that this concert was improved and in hi quality but what was actually fixed?? I hate to see what the non-improved version look & sounded like??

Walked out on Lizzy? From what I heard in interviews Lynott and Moore were always at each other's throats, even back in Skid Row, and they couldn't always stay in that close of quarters for too long. They were similar to the relationship of Phil Mogg and Michael Schenker of UFO. They both created magic together, but they would constantly be at odds.

Garry Moore's solo is one of my favourite. Just shreds, really goes for it. What guitar is he playing? I love it.

A Gibson Les Paul Junior. Once belonged to Steve Jones. 🤟🏻🎸🔥
@PedrSion3 жыл бұрын
@@bramez71 It’s actually a Gibson Melody Maker. Looks similar to a Les Paul Junior. The giveaway is the elongated pick guard and the lead coming out of it. The lead for a LP Junior goes in the bottom as per a LP.

Gary's solo makes me laugh everytime i watch this- its just so ridiculously over the top, it just goes to show there's alot to be said for absolute sheer arrogance and a 'look at me i fucking rule' appraoch in a rock band lol. just perfect.
@dimebag6214 жыл бұрын
i thonk , he was playing a gibson melody maker with a di marzio pickup on bridge
i think guns n roses is the best live band because those shows on the usi tour were surreal, beside the whole.. axl problem, they put on the best show, but it is pretty pointless arguing which band is "better live" cuz its all just personality, but this fucking show was so nice, which i could have been around.
@GraffitiPhysical11 жыл бұрын
No, it's a 60's Gibson Melody Maker.

@sooperkula They can't remaster it, the master tapes sounded like shit originally. I have this on VHS tape from 1987, mail order from Australia. If they tried to clean it up, it would ruin it. They also tried to make money on it already by releasing this on CD back in the late 90's, and it sounded horrible.
