36 years ago today the world of live albums changed forever when Live and Dangerous was released.

My favourite Thin Lizzy line up. Its a shame Robertson had to get in a bar fight on tour, and get himself kicked out of the band. Great sound

The vibe in this song is just so immense. It's relatively simple from a technical perspective, but cooler than an arctic winter.

I saw Lizzy at the Glasgow Apollo just a few months after the Live and Dangerous album came out. I know the album was cleaned up a lot in the studio but believe me what you hear on that album is pretty much what they delivered live. A band caught at its peak. One of my all time gigs. Never forgotten it even after 30+ years!

i worked at a kroger store,i was just 18,i bought the tape a few days later.the whole album is good,with southbound my favorite.i loaned it to a friend who never heard the group he dident want to return the tape.loved it to,i got 3 speeding tickets while listing to this album,one time i was going 111mph in a 35 with 11 cops chaseing me.i was fined 60.00 for my ticket,and the cop removed 3 stop signs for me.what a time 1978 or 79.

The greatest rock band ever. You can see they've spent a lot of time together on the road. You only get this good by continiously gigging.

Had Live n Dangerous LP in the ammo stock since the 70's but first time I've seen the video of the concert. Awesome performance by the band. Many "hot summer nights" spent listening to the album. My version has a police intro to it and I hear that is not the norm?

@FrozenHero201010 ай бұрын
It's all a matter of opinion. I liked the _Thunder and Lightning_ album and line up a lot. Phil recruited John Sykes because he wanted to tap in to the heavy metal scene. Brilliant move - JS gave Lizzy fresh energy, so badly needed after _Renegade._

If only Robbo didn't get kicked out of Lizzy for that bar fight that ended their major US tour, then Lizzy could have eventually gone onto AC/DC, Led Zeppellin level fame. They were all set to conquer the world with this line up, but fate would not be kind to them with bad luck at vital moments. Robbo joined the band at 18 years of age. Whereas Phil and Downy were already seasoned rockers by then. So Robbo lacked the maturity required at the time, for the band to take over long term

2:24 it's heavy rock but any blues master listening to that would acknowledge that as a moment of greatness..just several simple notes...just as worthy of attention as his solo in 'still in love with you' and 'don't believe a word' and also emerald...they were short and amazing...gary was great but he never had that magic robbo had

yes and vinyls are more durable than cd´s whole package,music and sleeves,you hear a band as they play on live not emphasize descant or spoil analog sound with digital techincs.
