John Sykes is the one of the best guitar players...and great singers...and that is the truth,the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

I definitely won't disagree!!! But another part of the truth is that he has always been a bit of a fretboard wanker and that he over-used the pinch harmonics sometimes.
@TheBudLife677 жыл бұрын
Zakk Wylde should pay royalties to Sykes for those amazing pinch harmonics. Love that sound!

Yep... not sure if Zakk has ever acknowledged John as an influence.. but its pretty obvious!

I thought (down slow and easy) From whitesnake came out in 83? Im probably wrong. Must've been after this..I remember going to concert whitesnake in 84. I think they opened for someone probably iron maiden I forget cannot remember who headlined. Whitesnake also had radio friendly song (slid it in)

Lizzy's been my fave band since about age 14 yes I'm old but tis dub or mix is too much with the crowd almost drowning out the tune in places. Wonder why there were no backing vocals with John's amazing voice and Darren and even Scott pitching in? Met both Sykes and Gorham in 2003 in Toronto very cool lads!

Happy that Sykes had issues while auditioning with Ozzy. There were absolutely no appropriate gear for him it seems...WHATever that was, if it wasnt the case John might have joined him instead Thin Lizzy and that would have been a shame. Not only because it is history but also 'cause of Jake Lee's debut album and all. He wrote great songs with Ozzy. two of my favorite guitarists. Still it got me thinking that Sykes playing Rhoads stuff and writing for Ozzy would have been killer...

Sykes also auditioned for Dio as well . Iam glad he didn't get it , as Vivian Campbell was made for Dio . And Sykes was perfect for what he did in Whitesnake . Their best selling album ever the 1987 album . It all worked out for the best was like fate .
