Such a great band. They had a few different members over the years, but Phil Lynott (singer/bass) & Brian Downey (drums) remained throughout. Clever songwriting with Phil's penchant for poetry produced some classic rock of the era. The Cowboy Song, Cold Sweat, Still In Love With You, Are You Ready, The Rocker, Roisin Dubh (The Black Rose) to name a few.

@@JohnProph I don't believe anything, it's a fucking objective fact, If you didn't know the song like anyone else it's your problem... The song was a hit, at least in Europe, check the lists of its time. Thin Lizzy is in general a lesser known band in America, which I don't fucking care because I'm not an american and rock music is not just an american thing, there's life out of american rock, like this very well known song. Now you turn passive aggressive because you don't know a shit about it? deal with your own ignorance, which is yours, but not mine or any other Thin Lizzy fan... you know? you're not the unit of measurement for anything. School yourself and be humble

One of Thin Lizzy's best songs. A top twenty hit in the UK where the band was very successful and influential. Very influential as well on the next generation of American rock bands, although the public at large didn't really get it.

Thin Lizzy are KINGS! The Bass player & lead-vocalist is: Phil Lynott [Philip Parris Lynott]. The band are from Dublin, Ireland (so don't let any noob come telling you that: "...U2 are 'responsible' for ...Irish rock..." or something 🤦). This band had a brilliant career, influenced hundreds of other musicians. And wrote SPECTACULAR music, together! Legendary Guitarist, Gary Moore, was a long-time friend & a song-writing partner of Phil Lynott's. Moore even spent a short span of time in Thin Lizzy (the only album he is on is: Black Rose: A Rock Legend (generally, just referred to as: "Black Rose"). [also employing the Gaelic: "Roisin Dubh" in the title song 👍👍] Some more songs by Thin Lizzy for you to check-out!: "Angel From The Coast"; "It's Only Money"; "She Knows"; "Showdown"; "Sha-La-La"; "Fight Or Fall"; "Fighting My Way Back"; "Don't Believe A Word" (the wordplay/intentional ...nebulousness ... ambiguity, indistinction, through juxtaposition, here is, just, ...pheww!🤘🤘) "Silver Dollar" "Freedom Song" "Sarah" (-The one from 1979 [The Black Rose album]-NOT the earlier one! (Yes. Thin Lizzy have 2, different, songs with the exact, same title.)) "Sweet Marie"; "Old Flame"; "Johnny The Fox Meets Jimmy The Weed"; "Ballad Of A Hard Man"; "Borderline"; "Spirit Slips Away"; "Southbound"; "Bad Reputation"; "Chinatown"; "Cold Sweat" "This Is The One"; "Fats"; "Mexican Blood"; "We Will Be Strong"; "Cruising In The Lizzymobile" [IF you can find it!!🤘🤘] All 🔥🔥🔥🔥 [in their own manner.]🤘🤘 (No. Those aren't "all of them"😝😋 ...There are more. 🤘🤘)

Thanks, DayOne! Thin Lizzy were awesome - was privileged to see them back up Queen (1978 - I was a teenager fan of Queen - never got over that) -- they were amazing, though, especially lead singer/bassist Phil Lynott - he was magnetic... they have other hits in the U.S. - most known for "The Boys are Back in Town" and "Jailbreak" - most Americans don't realize they are an IRISH band... (RIP Phil) --

You are likely thinking of King Harvest (a band from Ithaca, N.Y., who, somehow, re-formed in France). King Harvest had a hit in '72 with a song called "Dancing In The Moonlight" (Actually, a cover of a song, written and recorded by the older brother of one of the members of: King Harvest, with his band.) The band Toploader did, what *I* consider, the BETTER cover of that song (w/a slightly "modern" feel), in ...I think it was 🤷🤷2000? (maybe '99, or '01 🤷 -somewhere in that window.)). -The FULL, written, title of the THIN LIZZY song is: "Dancin' In The Moonlight (It's Caught Me In Its Spotlight)" -but people are too lazy 🙄🙄🤦 --And, NO! ...while "The Boys Are Back In Town" is THIN LIZZY's most POPULAR song (and that ENTIRE album: JAILBREAK, is end-to-end, from before the first note to well after the last!!!! 🤘🤘: PERFECT! PURE!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥), it is NOT "their best" (as if any, truly, GREAT band (or even a DECENT one!!) could have a SINGLE, "BEST" song! -PFHAHHH!!! THAT would be ridiculous! - No: they have tens-and-tens🤘🤘!). Don't get it twisted: I love "The Boys Are Back In Town" but the two commenters, here are ONLY saying that because that is the only Thin Lizzy song (or, maybe, like 🤷🤷 ...one of ...3 ? 4? -If we're lucky!) they, actually, know! THIS band [THIN LIZZY] influenced EVERY dual guitar band, from after 1974. All of the '80s bands you can think of with "guitar teams" [Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Ratt, Scorpions, Queensrÿche, Tesla, the '80s Whitesnake, Skid Row, Guns n' Hoseheads ... maybe even Metallica (🤷 -I've never heard any of them mention it, but every NWoBHM band that they cribbed from or admired, claim a debt to: Thin Lizzy. Without any doubt.). Most Thrash Bands had a dual guitar team.] inherited that idea and part of the sound they were going for, directly or indirectly, from: Thin Lizzy. [Judas Priest are the only 2-guitar team that, slightly, pre-dates Lizzy (or are concurrent with them).]

@@SonicProfessor_a.k.a._T._Andra ok, thanks, I love your passion level and the knowledge sharing. Well spoken. I’m one of those who knows the King Harvest track, had never heard this Thin Lizzie track… if you don’t already know, this channel of Angela’s is quite open to lesser-known tracks and artists, which I really appreciate. I asked her once if she preferred requests for ‘popular tracks’ or ‘quality tracks’ and she said quality. So we get a mix of nostalgia and learning new (to us) stuff, which is good, which I think is the perfect mix.
