We always think our hair is just nappy and unmanageable. I realize after watching so many of Damian's videos that a good wash and condition regimen brings out beautiful curl patterns that easily locks or looks great naturally!

There is nothing wrong with big locs. The problem is that you need not to be having your locs twisted so tight to the root, that's how you get breakage.

I don't know much about locs but I do know how to interpret art. The main difference between a connoisseur of art and folks that look at pictures is the ability to see beyond and the real. You helped me understand the "Art" of locing hair! Thanks for your support as well! Peace and love with a hug!

I am unfortunately taking care of my own locs as well as my daughters, but I have watched these videos till I can recite them backwards and forwards. So far I have been able to get the same products and keep my hair maintained very well until I can get back to regular visits with my Loctician. Damien is a godsend to those of us who can't get to him!!

Not everyone wants a lot of locs, hair is personal you do with it as you please if they like their parts that's all that matters. I do however agree with you with how "snatched"them locs were pulled.

@DamianWalter this is why I so respect you as a loctician, I've watched you for years and can't wait for you to do my hair. I have done comb coils as a stylist. And I have always wanted to give whomever hair I was doing at the moment a full look. I never knew Anything about loc to part ratio, I just knew I didn't want it to appear sparce so I always went for the full uniform partings. I swear I have learned so much from you. I can't wait to meet you when you do my starter locs nor can I wait to take my classes with you. You care about your customers as do I. Your amazing!!!

Just want to say I love your truths about locs. I have been doing them for a few years and I have learned a lot that I have been doing wrong and things I could be doing better. Thanks. I think you should have classes and educate folks who just dont know I am just starting my locks and I cant wait to put your methods to work on my clients as well as myself.

I went to try and show her the bumps on the side of my head and the hair broken off 1/4 inch around each loc thinking that she would "GET IT", but she acted like "oh I never seen that before. As if something was wrong with me and my head. I'm went right back to DIY locs. I will not pay somebody to break my hair off at the roots.

Hello Damian, I have one question. When you talk about the base of each loc and ratio I am unsure of what size that really is. On one video you said that the base should be big enough to support the weight of the loc and in this video you made each base smaller. Do you have a diagram that would give us an idea of large each part should be? I can send you a picture of my hair and texture if that is necessary for you to help me. I wish I could just come to Houston!!

Amen my brother! I had some extentions sewed in and my hair was braided so tight and that was after letting her know they were too tight. Then on top of that she had to sew the extensions in. My scalp was was pulled up and I don't even know how I made 6 days. It was a choice to keep a headache and be miserable or let 300.00 go down the drain. Well, I took a lost and that will be the last time I sew anything in my head. And yes, you're so right! You're awesome Damian and thanks for saving us!

I want my hair to have volume and body, and I have that with medium to small locs! My parts are very close and I have only 5 to 7% of scalp showing cause I don't twist too much or put my

That is your assumption. I have clients and friends with thin locs that do not fall out. If the person parts them correctly and uses the right margins, and the person takes care of them, they will have not problems. Locs are very easy to maintain once they mature.

i See the comments about Damian making negative comments about clients hair and who they went to to have their starter locks but a lot of blame lies with the Client for not doing a LITTLE research on what a "beautician" Loctician SHOULD be doing to their hair and what products SHOULD be used. Some of this messed up hair is JUST COMMON SENSE> I'm taking my locs of 15months because "I" am not happy with the progress. I will go back to natural no loc for a while. No waxes were use to start me.
