A little late to say anything, but you shouldn't overlook using logic circuits early on. Basic Logic Circuits don't require any alloys so you could have done solar tracking as soon as you had the electronics printer. Also, you could clip the front of the furnace through the wall, use chutes to feed it, and activate the vent with a Logic Switch. Keep in mind for next time!

There's a kit in the autolathe called "respawn point." you'll want one of these ASAP for Brutal+Stationeer starts, they're quite cheap, only a bit of iron, gold, copper, and they let you spawn in a 'safe' environment where you can keep a backup suit to go get your stuff.

You might consider using the Headlight Enhancement mod for the enjoyment of your viewers. the description is "Changes the Hardsuit Helmet Light, Space Helmet Light, and Headband Light to be an omnidirectional light with minimal shadows, further throw, and higher intensity than the standard helmet light. If you value being able to see things clearly over realism, this is the mod for you." The only issue with it at the moment is you might need to remove and re-equip the helmet, or print a new helmet to get the omnidirectional light to work. It doesn't seem to kick in on the helmet when it is spawned at world start.

27:25 This is a good example of a difference between US English and British/Australian English. For US English, Hire is generally only used when referring to people (hire a maid, hire a tree crew) while Rent is used for property or equipment (rent a car, rent an apartment). They aren't as synonymous in American English as they are in British English, which causes confusion when people aren't aware of the difference.

@@DS-gg1dr That's kinda the point though. If you're paying for a taxi with a driver, you're hiring it, because you're hiring the driver. If you're just paying for the vehicle itself, you'd be renting it. You would rent a truck to help you move, but you'd hire movers, who would bring a truck with them.

56:30 - Volatiles don't auto-combust in the presence of oxygen until ~300 C. As long as the outside temp is below that, you're safe from a boom, at least. Nitrous only requires like 50 C or something, but oxygen takes a lot more temperature to auto-combust. Night time is absolutely safe for that on Vulcan.

@2:11:30 "I have 1 % remaining of a cereal bar" Splitsie eats more from the final cereal bar to take it from 44% to 39%.... I see how it is in tight survival situations... Splitsie 60%, everyone else 40%. We saw this last time on Terraformers when you ate all the soybeans and Capac had to starve to death on a chair; watching the sunset as he wondered if the sun would set before he goes. I looked up at old dev notes and it looks like the final hunger debuff rate is 10% extra food usage. That survival closet and fixing mood would have probably gotten you enough extra time for 1 trader reroll... But at least you are getting a general idea for how to proceed through Brutal Stationeers together. It looks like you figured out how to make your air last, but now comes the race against time for growing plants before water and food run out. From my experience, water runs out around day 10-12. Food runs out around Day 18-20. Air is very variable for running out and can run out within a week (from constant outside daytemp exposure) or you may die from lack of water first. Looks like the target is to make sure you have a trade pad going by Day 7 to potentially get more air, water, or food as needed. By day 14 you need to have your potatos growing. Excited to see the next attempt.

Lol I was fed those soy beans, I didn't take them 😜 This time I was just trying to get us as equal as possible as I knew we'd give up regardless of who died first, so even fed was the best for longest survival, but I miscalculated and are more of the final vat than I thought that last click would 😞

@@Flipsie A likely defense🤣But you definitely didnt stop the overfeeding of the soybeans too! That aside, It was a good run. That trader rng though has broken many of us too. I figured you wont do any cheezing with sleepers/cryo tubes because... that would be for boring streams of "watch me sleep". Although cryo tubes act as a sort of respawner I think... I'm not sure... I suppose if you do get them and they work out right, you could rp them as a sort of, "Oh no... so and so died and I had to resuscitate you in the cryo pod" respawn thing. At least then skulls would be generated. Best of luck on the next run!

when you are taking care of hunger and thirst, you should go into the airlock and first open your waste tanks to pressurize it. then you can eat and drink without taking damage from vacuum. then turn on the vent to capture the waste air.

the rush is fun, i focus a 1 by 1 space to live in, and leave the rest of the base empty. than i can just chill in there, no windows to the ouside just a window in to my base

2:35:20 A quick way to find out which tool for disassembly is to just point at it with a grinder. As the grinder is disassembly only, tooltip will tell you the correct tool for disassembly.

Oh right that was a food trader. Hands down this is one of the best traders for being settled on food. Buying 1 package of flour, milk, and eggs would have cost 95 space bucks and been capable of making 4 muffins for high quality food that would last for quite some time. Adding the oil for an extra 25 space bucks allows you to make french fries from the eventually grown potatoes. But it is hard to look so far ahead and know they needed that because water was critical at the time.

may i suggest making an airlock between the solar panel room and the main room? a window between the two should be fine as it will be one or two windows worth of heat instead of the amount you have now. nevermind i see you blew it up.

Yeah, we'd talked about doing that if we'd survived long enough. Having proper airlocks would have been high on our list for both outside and to the solar panels

@@Flipsie i more meant an "airlock" as in two doors with an active vent to vacuum out the space, just anything to stop the heat from coming from the solar panel area to the main area. even just walling it off completely once it was set up until you could afford to airlock it "properly"

The waste tank is too hot, it can do lung damage faster than vacuum 😕

I've just been using some decorative mods in my other playthrough, ones that add curvy tubes to walk through, letters to put on the wall, that sort of thing
