Man, Wrigley is SO updated now. As a kid in the 80’s, all of the seats were still made out of wood. The concession areas were so crappy, and the bathrooms were a nightmare 😂. It looks great now TBH. You’d think the Cubs would want a new ball park considering that Wrigley has never at any time offered the Cubs a home field advantage. Even when they had great teams that won pennants the American League teams would show up and beat the brakes off them. 1 championship in that park in a 108 years? They had a 71 year WS drought. No matter how great their teams were they were always better on the road and barely played .500 at home. Very strange.

I mentioned the pee trough to a female friend and she didn’t believe that it was a real thing. She could not comprehend a bunch of men standing shoulder to shoulder peeing next to each other. Her main hang up was “doesn’t everyone just stare at each others wieners”. I explained that we just unzip, stare straight ahead, shake off, zip up and walk away. She still didn’t believe me until a few other male friends confirmed pee troughs exist.

The roof top seats are 108 years old but the score board in front of them is way younger. Also, the ushers don't allow beer snakes in the bleachers anymore.

The scoreboard is actually there to spite the people in wrigleyville who got to watch the cubs for free. Those stands were made by the fans

Been to a many stadiums. Wriggly was hyped. Was disapointed and let down when I visited. Place is stuck in the early 1900s. At least theyre making improvements.

The pee troughs are great. Mens bathrooms are already quick and the troughs make them legitimately fast af. Fit in 2x the people and its not awkward

The Cubs did not install the rooftop seats. Those buildings used to have just a few residents in lawn chairs on a flat rooftop. Then entrepreneurial pirates leased the rooftops, constructed the stands, began charging premium prices, and tried to steal the Cubs' product without paying any fees. The scoreboard was constructed later as a way of saying, "you can't steal our product for your own profit." I first went to Wrigley Field 64 years ago. Crowds (sic) of 3,000 to 5,000 fans were not uncommon. On Ladies' Days women were admitted free. When I began going, bleacher seats were 90 cents, grandstand seats were $1.50, upper box seats were $3.00, and lower box seats -- the best seats in the house -- were $3.50. You could go and watch the Cubs lose and not spend more than 5 or 6 dollars.

The rooftop seats were originally not blocked. Ricketts did such out of spite.

A great childhood memory is riding to the ballgame down Lake Shore Drive, turning off at Belmont and meandering through the neighborhoods until you reach Clark and then, all at once, beautiful, old Wrigley appears like a castle.

Never had an issue with the pee troughs. They keep the piss line moving. The troughs beat the restroom accommodations at Soldier Field, I can say that with certainty. I’ve come close to pissing myself many times waiting in that queue. I’m sure I’ve damaged my tackle the numerous times I’ve been beer’d up and in utter agony waiting in that damn line.

To be fair, those rooftop seats were there long before the signs. There was even a lawsuit to prevent the signs from being erected.

Other things about Wrigleyville. The traffic, overinflated everything, tourists from Naperville, the perpetual smell of alley urine, greasy sidewalks, homeless bum secks, $2 whiskey specials
