I can see why they didn’t show the other women.- They weren’t as prominent as Rita. And they also would’ve had to show Rita’s marital affairs as well. Which isn’t fair and also not the focus and purpose of the film. So they alluded to these side “lovers” throughout the movie. The nuances were there, but the movie stayed focused. What I do wish, was for it to be 20 minutes longer. To help with the dynamics of the large story they were trying to tell. This could’ve made great as a 10 episode limited series.

Excellent video, thank you very much. I have seen the movie and it's wonderful. The movie is about 2 years in Marley's life with some flashbacks and flash-forwards and doesn't claim to be a 1945-1981 biography. As a Marley biography obsessioner I knew this stuff and understood in real time that the facts you mention wouldn't be in the movie and shouldn't be either. Sufficient references to his infidelities are made (the phone box scene and Rita's dialogue). However, the CIA involvement is not undoubtedly proven and the London marijuana arrest is as unimportant now as it was then and was presented in the movie in a relevant context. Pascaline was the daughter of the dictator of Gabon, Omar Bongo, not a Jamaican politician (if that's what was meant). I agree with one thing - the apparently fabricated forgiveness scene for Bob's would-be assassin should not have been placed in the movie; it would have been okay to do that even if the event hadn't happened if the atmospheric context of Bob's character had allowed it, but seeing as the truth was diametrically opposite (as I also picked up in another biography, not Don Taylor's) it really is unacceptable that this was done and I'm a bit surprised that Rita and Ziggy allowed it.

The production of the film about Bob Marley was overseen by his children and wife, and I found their account to be credible and well-executed. Marley's family and his love for his people were integral parts of his life and legacy. Therefore, including references to his extramarital affairs in the film would not add any value to his legacy. There is no evidence to suggest that Marley wrote any of his songs for his side chicks. It is widely known that Rita Marley was the one true love of Bob Marley's life.

I don't think Bob and Esther had children as is stated in this video also the date he passed was incorrect, you need to get facts straight before making claims.

Bob said the weed was his in the movie when the cops stopped him. Maybe you didn’t understand the slang.

if you watch the interviews with the family, the point of the movie was to celebrate his music and his message...it was not an entire biopic.

Watching the film "Bob Marley: One Love" is a frustrating experience for fans, and for those who aren't, it doesn't explain any of the "natural" mystique of its star, it doesn't give them the context to justify its undeniable greatness, and in fact it constantly annoys with its formulaic approach the most interesting period of Marley's career.

It doesn't make sense to leave out the fight for marijuana legalization...its an issue to this day.

5:57 he never had a child with Esther Anderson. She saw all the kids he already had and was like “Nah” They did mess around though and at the same time all the early iconic pictures like the Catch a Fire album cover were all shot by her.

This movie stunk, they literally whitewashed it & didn’t give us Anything a true biopic is supposed to give u. I learned nothing new about bobs upbringing, not a single mention of his early career, no mention of all his kids (just a select few are mentioned) & most importantly no real deep dive into him as a PERSON. It felt rushed & quickly put together. 3/10 is my rating on this movie.

I think the movie was made to attract new people who never heard about Bob. Fans did not find much new.
