I had a friend in high school who’s parents where kinda rich, and all he wanted was a mustang for his 17th birthday, (thinking he’d get a mid 2000s gt) and his parents got him a eco boost) after being salty about for a week he became to like it and nicknamed it the “4 banger ‘stanger”

I've almost never heard anyone say those things Real reasons for Ecoboost over GT: - It costs way less but still looks like a Mustang - It weighs almost 300 pounds less - More tune-able. That doesn't mean "bruh my Ecobeast smokes GT with only a tune", it means it's easier to customize the engine's performance - It's a great car even if it's not a 'true Mustang', a lot of people don't care about the heritage.

V6 Challenger is the worst of the V6 muscle/pony cars. It weighs over 3800lbs, but only has barely over 300HP to manage it. I really don't want to be the guy who shit talks it...but a V6 Toyota Camry is faster than it, and I wish I was joking with that statement, but a V6 Camry or Accord will just embarrass the V6 Challenger. It's not worth, "having the cool look" if they're going to lose every race :(

I really did get an eb over a gt because of insurance Lol.. at the time, insurance for a GT would cost me $430 a month.. that's more than the note on my eb Lol. Right now Im paying $185 a month with progressive for my eb and will probably pay it off by the end of this year, 2 years early.. have $9k in positive equity.

That's not even official. It's only speculated to be because Ford owns Mazda, and Mazda used to have a 2.3 engine themselves. That doesn't mean it has to be Mazda's engine. As far as i remember Ford has the ability and knowledge to build engines themselves as well. Because as far as i know this engine was completely developed from the ground up By Ford, Mazda and with a little help from a German company called FEV Engineering. That doesn't sound like the kind of involvement necessary just to modify an already existing engine. I don't unfortunately why people always have to bring bullshit comments into videos just to ruin the comments sections with confrontations and unnecessary drama. Why couldn't you just see it as a great engine and not bring up Rumors just because you want to be the 'more informed' person here?

Dean Grimsell the L3-VDT and the 2.3 EcoBoost do use the same block, that's fact. Ford themselves say that, the rest of the engine, they say is all them, and its a different turbo than the L3-VDT. It's not just the fact that they use the same block, or the fact that they're both 2.3 L I4's, it's also the fact that their power and torque curves and outputs are VERY similar. And, by the way, I wasn't trying to bash Ford in any way in my original comment.

That was fun, and to each his/her own. I’m 55 years old and bought a 2020 Mustang Eco Premium. Always thought I’d get a 5.0, but decided to have my midlife crisis on a budget, plus I’m lazy and when I went to the nearest dealership the car that had the options I wanted and was the right color was an Eco. Adaptive exhaust, sounds good enough to me, no regrets. She’s going to remain stock other than perhaps upgrading the intercooler. But who knows, one day I might just get the 5.0 because all things being equal, naturally aspirated just seems better to me.

Let me preface this by first saying, I own a '21 Mustang GT. With that out of the way, I have owned 2 '67 GTs, one with a 289 HiPo and the other a 302. Both were heavily modified. Neither ever hit 330 hp. So, for a 4cylinder to be putting out something close to 330 hp, it's damn impressive. Technology is great sometimes....really wish I still had those '67s though.

Me and a friend of mine were celebrating after she bought her first mustang (a white 2015 ecoboost). Some assholes inside our local starbucks started talking about how terrible it sounded and how it was a "Mustang for poor people". I walk over to see who said that and the guy looked like a sixteen year old rapidly aging. I go over to him and his friends to ask him "I'd like to see what a rich person drives these days" in English (English is a common language in my country yet it's considered kind of aggressive to speak it). I said that to him as I point outside to the parking lot. There was only one car in the parking lot. I get asked back by my friend to our table and laugh the whole thing off I lived in the Philippines (not anymore as I have moved west along with most of the people I know). Back there it was quite common to hear people pretend to be rich to impress peers. My friend just wanted to own a mustang, something she can drive around and enjoy. She didn't need the big V8 or the two million horse power, she just wanted a mustang. I'm quite close to that age she was in when she bought that Mustang and honestly I'd want an Eco boost too!

You can't daily drive it (unless if you can keep up with the trash fuel economy) there are other better options like a mustang gt less power but it's much cheaper and parts are every where for it also chryslers are known for being unreliable

The ecoboost is a cylnder head modded Duratec 2.3 or origional design is actually a 2.3L called L3VE and it's based off the b6T and 1.8 BP motors, this motor is better with the older Port fuel injection heads due to being somewhat stronger quality, the stock NA 2.3 can make around 300HP they use it in rally racing, people who turbo the port injected motor can make insane numbers like the blue Ranger GT that has the duratec 2.3 and a turbo 10 second 130mph

With my budget i was able to either get the 2019 EcoBoost Premium or the GT Base. I went with the EcoBoost Premium because im more interested in having leather interior with all the bells and whistles than i am having a V8. That being said, if i could afford a V8 Premium id be driving one. I do love my EcoBoost tho 👍

I’m looking to buy my very first Mustang soon for my 30th birthday. I can easily afford a 2020 GT, so that being said I can afford an Ecoboost. Now I don’t have a heavy foot, love turbo sound, love the growl sound. One cost 10k less than the other. I’m really debating which would fit me right. I could care less about the whole “ why didn’t you get a 5.0 if i get an Ecoboost” honestly that argument is truly lame. No one pays the cars monthly payment and insurance but me.

I own an ecoboost and i have never said those things but the people that do have some good imagination 😂 funny as hell too. Only thing i say is that i will TRY to upgrade to a gt now because i have found a better job that what i used to have. I make $650-$800(mostly $750) a week after taxes with this job so idk if i am able to afford one but if i can i will.its always up to the bank tho cus im pretty sure i can pay $600 a month for a car. But at the same time I'm thinking of keeping the eco until the next model if mustangs come out and get a gt then if the models are pretty. But i do want that gt power :(

The ecoboost comes stock with a forged block that is rated for 900+HP. Fucking crazy. With stock turbo you can crank out 600+ hp.

You should watch videos about how to stay in boost, and when to stay out of boost. Your car will sip gas otherwise. My Mustang GT averages 20.2mpg In Indianapolis Indiana Traffic and 18.8mpg in San Francisco Traffic (where the previous owner lived). So your mileage is absurdly low, and I'd definitely do something about that.

Ford, as well as GM, have crankshafts built by a Japanese company. That means Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, GMC, Chevy, Saturn (Formerly), Pontiac (Formerly), Oldsmobile (Formerly), Cadillac, and Buick oriented towards USDM all contain a bit of Japanese innovation. The thing is, the same company supplies Toyota and Hyundai, so GM's inline 4s have similar cranks to Toyota, Hyundai and Ford inline 4s (this company does not manufacture V4s, as none of their customers manufacture high performance "superbike" motorcycles.
