*THIS IS THE LOGIC OF REVEALING A CURSED TECHNIQUE* Basically it’s rule of equivalent exchange. By revealing your cursed technique and essentially getting rid of the advantage of your opponent not knowing it, in exchange your technique gets stronger

@@LettsReact In this show they call things like this a "pact"... revealing your technique forces a pact that somehow could weaken you by letting your opponent know how your cursed technique works but instead you increase the power of it. It has several applications like the pact that Sukuna made with Yuji in exchange for restoring his body "Whenever I chant the word Extension you'll surrender your body to me for one minute but I'm not gonna hurt anyone"

The entire situation is honestly really sad. Junpei was dealing with a lot of dark thoughts but his Mom was like the one constant pillar of light in his life. Then she's just gone. And of course, when Mahito questions who could possibly be so cruel, the first people that came to Junpei's mind are the bullies who have been constantly tormenting him, beating him up and putting their lit cigarettes up against his forehead until he burns. Their cruelty paved the path to their undoing

8:48 It's a Stereotype in Japan that Moms buy and cook with Green Onions, because you always see it in a Mom's Shopping Bags. She's saying she doesn't want to look like a Typical Mom. She's too Fashionable to be acting like a Housewife, she wants to be seen more like a Casual Single Woman. The Joke doesn't really translate well outside of Japan.

I think the most tragic part of this whole situation is that the worst thing to ever happen to Junpei, his mother's death, happened just after he got hope again. Yuji got to him and made him laugh again, believe that good things can happen, and then his mom just dies. It's so unbelievably cruel, and I completely get why Junpei just gave up after it.

Nanami withdrew because his cost/benefit analysis determined he didn’t have the energy to keep up the offensive long enough to exorcise Mahito in a battle of attrition, so trying to crush him with the rocks was the best he could do in that moment. He backed out to regroup and plan a new strategy.

Binding pacts are one of the coolest parts about how this universe. Something for something else. Your opponent learns your technique so the strength of your technique is prisoners. In exchange for limiting his cursed energy during business hours Nanami gets an amp during “overtime.”

Junpeis story breaks my heart but I love that Yuji were honest when asked questions and truly enjoyed his company. They made a connection and it is so sweet. Also, Nanami is awesome and such a good character. The fact that he tells Yuji to stay behind because someone so young shouldn't be placed in a situation where they may have to kill a human...So freaking good!

I don't know if it was mentioned in any comments before, but in a previous episode they explain that revealing ones curse technique increases the potency or power of the said technique, that's why Gojo reveals it to Jogo and Nanami reveals it to Mahito.

Ok seems your getting lost a bit with the Translation: Junpei was definitely fascinated by Mahito and how easy he dealt with what he seems annoying. Mahito choose the easy Solution to solve his Problems : Murder, and for Junpei as he is getting relentlessly bullied at school and thus stays home and is scared to go he is looking for Solutions. After meeting Itadori who is cheerful despite his hardships and connecting with him over the movies ( Itadori watched a lot in the 6th Episode when he was training with the Punching Doll ) he is getting a different Perspective. Itadori says if your resort to kill what opposes you (for Junpei his Bullies) killing becomes are cemented Action for Problemsolving in your Mind and he is scared on how it might change his outlook on the people he likes and affects them. This is when Junpei becomes conflicted with what is right or wrong while before his mind was drifting strongly to the "wrong" choice fueled by his talks with Mahito. The Finger as explained in the first Episode has a very large amount of Cursed Energy which is the Life Force that fuels Curses so small and large curses are drawn to it wherever it surfaces and want to consume it for strenght, this is what happened to Junpeis Mother she was simply next to the Finger when a Curse was trying to get it and got killed. Junpei is then later comforted by Mahito who tells him that Curse Users also attack People for Money and if he knew someone with Money and Influence that has a Problem with him or his Mother. Junpei knows nothing about the Jujutsu World but his mind went to one of his Bullies he probably knew was from a well of family.

I really love Itadori's reason for not killing people. Like there is nothing wrong with the usual "Kill=bad..so no kill"..I agree with that..I just love the unique never heard before reason that I agree with more.. Basically, imagine you were in a horrible situation..You think so hard to find another solution other than killing but you end up having to do the killing..the thing is..your situation was bad with no other choice, so you're not at that much of a fault. Next time, in a less dire situation, you are likely to choose the killing option..Before the first kill, killing was an unthinkable option, but because you did it once, you are more likely to use it in a less horrible situation even though there might have been an another way in this situation, you won't think as much and will just choose the kill option. And then next thing you know, you will continue it until you might even hurt or kill your own loved ones. I really like that take.

5:55 im not exactly sure why the sorcerers wear buttons that make them identifiable but if id guess its probably similar to a police badge or id card in a hospital its for others to be able to identify the person with it is on the same side
@akumayoxiruma7 ай бұрын
I agree because it is quite easy to fake it: Unlike hospital and police IDs, this is just a button which can be worn and obtained by anyone. Mahito even had one so what is the point in having them if Mahito could show up to Kyoto or Tokyo Sorcery School and pretend to be from the other school or independant?
@farsous107 ай бұрын
Also only ppl that would identify them are curse users, no regular humans would ever know since they don’t know the existence of sorcerers and everything that comes with jujutsu. Plus curse users in this era wouldn’t randomly attack a sorcerer they know is from jujutsu high in fear of retaliation from gojo

My mind was too consumed with the Nanami-Yuuji + Mahito-Junpei parallel feeling from last episode and just Idk what I was thinking, but I think I was unsure but _hoping_ it wasn't _specifically_ Mahito bc it'd break this mentor thing I temporarily wanted for him and just break everything for Jun because that would be _it_ ; I was oblivious bc I just took M at face value like "Unsettling and off-putting but he thought you were interesting enough to not kill and aw look at the arm over the shoulder, comforting him, _please_ don't know the culprit sir that's what I think, since this was before S2 came out (and I stopped at 1x21 so don't mention anything else lol) ; TL,DR; I probably thought it _could_ be Mahito, but I wanted it to not be the answer and for Mahito to genuinely be comforting Junpei with that arm around his shoulders ( wait does this cunning count as "lies", like Jogo criticized humans for)

19:17 This was an iffy theory because Sukuna would not have a finger. He would eat the finger. Every finger eaten gives him back more of his original power. Using it as a prop only to lose it after would not be acceptable.

In universe, it only ever gets teh surface explanation that "revealing your technique increases its power". It's become mostly a meme as a in universe reason to exposition dump the powers. I've personally headcannoned it that, as you understand what someone's doing to you, your curse energy is being unconsciously directed to feed their technique, especially poison/infection types. Like the "you are now manually breathing" or "youre aware your tongue is on the roof of your mouth" sort of thing.
@carterblomster7417 ай бұрын
Just so you know, it’s not just a meme in universe. It’s only a meme because it provides a legit reason to monologue about your technique, whereas other shows just do it for no reason. In universe by telling the truth about your technique to your opponent you gain an increase in output level, or sometimes range, of that technique. You make a pact “or a binding vow” as it’s more often referred to as, with yourself to tell the truth about your ability, to gain more power with said ability. If you lie about your technique to confuse your opponent, your own soul recognizes that you didn’t tell the truth, and you get no increase in CE output.

5:30 lol EN Junpei sounds so smug and...malevolent? Like... a pin! _Gotcha_ He's more incensed 5:45 School. 19:15 - but then -> Sukuna is w/ Yuuji, and they have no fingers in their possession (and they'd have to know where the school has them, or go looking) ; and Sukuna would have 1 minute to find a finger, get inside, and plant it. And even if S or Y is kinda fronting (I should find a better term), the other is still present for what happens ; and why go through the trouble to target this random lady instead of eating it (unless to mess with Yuuji by messing with Junpei...?). Those are the first things that popped into my head 19:50 that's weird" ... I thought he asks "what thing" and it kinda subtly reveals her as a potential window 20:08 mm guess it's been a while (also Jun saying he doesn't have any black clothing like -- was his uniform destroyed?) 23:21 oh, I thought you'd look back to see where he got pricked

So I want to expound on the "if the technique is revealed it becomes stronger" idea. This episode focuses heavily on Junpei and all of that, but since Montana asked, this is my theory: when you reveal your technique, the enemy becomes more focused on evaluating, analyzing, predicting, and planning against the technique you just revealed. If you reveal your technique in its most basic form, with the basic rules laid out (excluding the specifics, like Nanami not detailing how his Overtime ability works while revealing the entirety of his 3/7 ratio ability), your opponent becomes enraptured with analysis of the ability; thus hindering them within their combat ability and trying to anticipate something that may or may not come from it. It's psychological warfare in a sense that grants an advantage through over-inundating the opponent with a lack of information. It's really only implied, but the idea is strongly implied.
