I was shocked when my then husband of 12 years asked for a divorce. He was in love with another woman from work. He left me with $10 in the bank account and 3 children, the youngest 3 years old. I spent time healing and learning to love myself before moving on. I have been happily married for 19 years now. With the right person.

Blindsided at 30 years old with a 3 year old and a lay-off notice in my hands. He just walked out. To say I was scared is an understatement. That was 30 years ago. I not only survived, but continued to grow and thrive and have a beautiful successful daughter and brand new granddaughter today. It was scary and hard and heartbreaking, but I got through it stronger and better than ever. I love my life today. Women are strong. You are strong. You will make a great life for yourself.

I would have been married 44 years in July. He doesn’t want to be married anymore. Called me the B word and told me when he healed from an accident that has him in a wheelchair he is leaving. I have been taking care of him. He told me this today. Evidently I am not taking care of him and everything else well enough! I just realized that we God is trying to remove people out of your life let them go!

I would never stay with a man for any reason if they cursed me or told me they were leaving after you help rehabilitate him. My best friend’s husband left her after she worked hard to help him get his VA benefits and a hip replacement. He left her two weeks after her mother died. He had hid money from her for over thirty years. This was a man that was in the ministry and taught Bible studies throughout their marriage. She was left penniless. Thankfully….her sweet sister was single and took her in. They spent the best 8 years of their life together. Sadly, she passed away back in March 2024, and the ex is living with the woman he left her for, and they are both alcoholics and miserable together. Men and women should never let their significant other take complete control of all the finances.

@TheMimiof7 I agree, I'm glad my ex didn't get a lawyer and try to get my money by saying it's was his. After he cheated on me and moved out while having surgery to save my face and eyesight. Now he is living with a friend who his ex wife and has major health issues on top of diabetes, blood pressure issues and depression. Thank God that's he out of my life. I never let him have access to bank account or any bill except my directv bill. Which I had to research my account online because of a deal that att and directv had. In order to get that deal with free HBO the bill was in my name. Instead they put my ex down as 2nd party if anything else wrong. It's took me months and lots of fighting with them. After changing my number, the company deleted his info, and I canceled. Good thing is he left me with house and all stuff. All he took was his antique that filled every space in my house. Took his 4 dogs that had issues. My stepbrother and his dog live with me and my dog. I gave my stepbrother a place to live when he needed it. Can't wait to see where life takes us in future.

I would have been married 44 years May 31. I turned 62 on May 24. My husband abandoned me in another state knowing I was sickwith a rare autoimmune disease. He cut .e off financially as well and this was at 38 years of marriage. It took me allthistime to claw my way back to my home state. Just before my birthday I got my very own first apartment. I knew God was removing him from my life. There's a quote that says, " Don't worry about who God removes from your life, he saw things you couldn't, heard conversations you didnt and made moves you wouldn't. Thank God he's got my back!

@@AnnsHappyHome Sorry to hear you are going thru a divorce. Divorce IS painful. Make sure you take care of your health during this stressful & sad time in your life. Ch Dr Berg has excellent vds on stress. Find a good diet to help you reduce high cortisol levels (which happens under stressful times). Dr Berg recommends Keto diet and others switch from there to carnivore diet (ch Kelly hogan, Dr Ken berry have how to start carnviore diet). With time you will see that your freedom is a blessing. This does not happen overnight. Be KIND to yourself during this journey of healing. Take care ❤ ps you can paint appliances from frigs, washer & dryers lots of vds for this.

I was blindsided by my high school sweetheart the night of our 16th wedding anniversary he wanted a divorce. We had just moved to another State away from my family and friends, bought a house on six acres and had 5 dogs and 2 parrots. I was devastated, did not want to live and didn’t think I could go on. However, if it wasn’t for that divorce, I wouldn’t have met the most wonderful man who I have been married to for over 30 years. He is the love of my life. Things seem to happen for a reason we find out down the road. You had me when you said you worry so much when your pet is hurting! ❤️🐾🐶 You will find the reason for this time in your life…..down the road. Pets can be great comfort and therapy. ❤

This year I got laid off from my job, my husband has been mentioning a divorce and then I found out my family member has cancer. When it rains it pours. Been with my husband for 24 years. I agree with you when you said people need more help than you can give them. I realized the other person has to want to help themselves. If they don't want to help themselves then there is nothing you can do. I'm stressed out but I'm happy I just got a new job and in the meantime I continue to donate my clothes that I longer wear and downsize my papers to prepare for the day that I have to move because my husband and I will get a divorce. It's hard but I'm taking it one day at a time, praying and staying positive.

Which I do not regret. 2 weeks after I moved out he moved his mistress in. I was very very angry and hurt. We have 2 adult kids. Our Son is married. I am so thankful my son treats his wife so good. He had to watch how his dad treated me. It took me 11 years to stop hurting so badly. So trust in the Lord and he will see you thru

I was never divorced as my husband passed away in 2020 with Alzheimers. Our marriage was far from perfect but I guess it could have been worse. I enjoy not being accountable to anyone but myself and God. I go to bed when I'm ready and get up the same way. I'm not on a set schedule for anything. Meals are when I want and if I don't want to cook, I don't. After catering to someone for 52 years of my life and no matter how hard you try to please them, not being able to, it's nice to no longer do that. I'm a bit older than you, but If and when you meet someone, take your time. Don't rush into anything including moving in with anyone. I know a lot of people think that is how you get to know someone and think I'm old fashion but I'm not going to take on caring for anyone that doesn't want to commit to the relationship. Remember if you do not get along with them before marriage, it will be three times worse after marriage. If they have a hot temper, always want things their way etc., don't think they will change. Men want someone to take care of them. You will find you are very capable of caring for yourself if need be. I wish you the best in your move and in the future. Love the dishes from Dollar Tree. They will make such a fun table setting. I have to go check them out. Thanks for showing them to us and sharing.

Hi, Ann. I live in Sonoma County and recently became single again (I think I’m going on 9-months). I was angry and hurt at first but now I am happy and thriving!! I am enjoying being a single woman again and my life is far better than it was when we were together. I have zero drama in my life; I love my peaceful quieter life; there is a lot less to clean; expenses are lower; I can watch whatever I want on TV (yay for girl TV!) or turn it off when I just want quiet; I have been enjoying decluttering and cleaning my condo (no more stuffed closets or tripping over things); no more snoring, the list goes on and on. My point is, I am sure it is very difficult for you now but it WILL get better. You will be better than OK!!

Hi Ann, I went through a divorce 5 years ago after 24 years of marriage and 2 children ( girls ages 28 & 26 respectively). My ex began seeing another woman 10 yrs ago from Facebook (knew each other since childhood) after helping him get back on his feet after having knee replacement surgery that February. I never knew he was cheating on me since he was so open about where they were going and even showing me photos. I thought it was a friendly relationship until he told our eldest daughter in 2015. She didn't believe him until he admitted to me that November of 2015. He eventually moved out of our house on 7/13/16, 3 weeks after our younger daughter graduated from high school. To make a long story short, he filed for divorce 1/17/17 & it was finalized on 5/23/19. I went through depression and wanted to end my life, but I had my daughters and was seeing someone else. That relationship with my boyfriend ended on 12/11/21 after 5 yrs and again being dumped for another woman. Your life will be filled with happiness after a while. It took me at least 2 yrs to get over my divorce & how I've been divorced for 5 yrs and living my best life. Take care of yourself & your fur babies.

Divorce was scary, but keep in mind that what is scarier is trying to stay with someone and convince them that you are worthy of the love you deserve. Know that this is just a part of your journey, it’s not the destination. Your story will continue, you will find happiness, and feel whole all on your own. Sometimes what we feel is God’s rejection is His protection. I believe that with my whole heart, and am happily divorced, and looking forward to a bright future. Prayers for you girly. Can I just say some men cannot handle stress. If their wife becomes ill or injured, they will run for the hills. Best to help them pack for the trip because they are useless. Married 55 years and been through a lot of illnesses and injuries. Three cancers between us, one triple bypass for him. Myself injured and ended up in hospital for 4 months with multiple fractures. Couple of years in a wheelchair before I could walk. My husband worked full time, shopped, cleaned and cooked for two years until I could get on my feet. It takes guts to care for each other, and some people just don't have it in them.

Hi there! I'm new to your channel. Although I've never been married, I've had a relationship end that was shocking. I thought he was going to propose but he actually dumped me. I knew something shifted with us but I thought it was something else not the ending of the relationship. The thing that rocked me was being displaced. My parents had passed away and I was really all alone in this world. My nearest relative was over 1600 miles away. Then I lost my job a week after mom passed away. I moved so many times in a matter of 18 months, I ended up in the hospital with a stroke. So being displaced is a cruel realization. I had no one to help me, I ended up putting my things on the street and people came by and got what they wanted. With no income there was no way to get a storage unit. What didn't sell, was simply lost forever. Many women find themselves in that boat. I'm thrilled to know you have a safe space to go to. So many people don't have that. You've got a massive part of this life journey solved. I'm happy for you for having that. Hold your head up high sweetheart and push forward. I'll be subscribing to follow your new journey. Yes, in time, you will be fine!!! Been here - done that! Even the failed fertility and all and I wee 40!!😳 Found a man that had never married and had no children. We got married in 6 months and 4 months later, I was pregnant naturally. Then 10 months and 1 day later, baby #2!! This was all aster 4 IVF attempts - carried a precious set of twins for 221/2 months and birthed and buried them. Then had 3 more positive IVF pregnancies, all ending in miscarriage. As of last month, we’ve been together 24 years!!! I know you don’t know me, but we have very similar stories!!♥️

Just subscribed I can relate. 27 years married. Husband went through mid life crisis went back to chumming with first love..7 children 4 grandchildren I forgive him because we have children. The daughter closest to him took years to get over being mad at Dad even the siblings asked me why is she still mad because each of us takes a different amount of time to heal. We still have family get together s and all at peace he even brings his first love kids hate it I tolerate it not going to be mean just makes things worst. 1 time is enough because I have children and the grandchildren...I don't want to get married again. I'm enjoying the family I have now. And there are great men out there but they are hard to find. You will do great you have the right attitude and I will pray someday when you are healed God will find you that good man to spend the rest of your lives together. He is out there😊 God bless you and keep that positive going. Take care😊

I just found your channel when I was scrolling through my KZbin feed. The title made me click on your video . I was with my ex-husband for 22 years and then I found out that he was a serial cheater so we ended up getting a divorce. We had a beautiful beautiful home. We got the house and gutted it and made it my dream home. The house went up for sale and it was just so sad because every inch of that house was made and decorated the way I wanted. Including the light fixtures all the way down to the wall colors. It's been almost 6 years since my divorce and I just can't believe that I wasted two decades of my life with this man. So divorce is hard and having to start over is hard and scary at the same time. But you will get through it. Even now all these years later I still have my moments of sadness. I wish you the best. I too have a dog and she is my everything. During my divorce and a couple years after my divorce my son and his then fiancee still lived with me. When we moved from me and my ex-husband's home in Massachusetts to relocate in Rhode Island it was me, my son, my now daughter-in-law and my sweet dog. When my son and daughter-in-law moved out of the house it was just such a scary time for me because I never lived on my own before. I was with my ex-husband for 22 years and before him I was with my son's father. So once my son and daughter-in-law left it was just me and my sweet dog. She helped me so much. She was diagnosed with mast cell cancer October 2022. She's on a comforting Med and she was doing really good for a long time but then she has been slowly declining within the last 6 months so I'm freaking out about losing her and then being truly alone. Of course I see my son and my daughter-in-law and my two year old grandson but they don't live with me. I do watch my grandson a few days during the week which is so much fun. But when I have to put my sweet girl down it's going to be absolutely devastating for me. Like I said I will be alone alone. I just can't believe that this is my life at 51 years old. I dated two guys after my divorce and once I left both of those relationships I haven't been in another because I am notorious about choosing the wrong type of man. So I would rather be on my own then have to deal with any more heartache. I never dreamed that I would be alone at my age. But I have to look at it as I'd rather be alone then I have to deal with all of the drama that I had to endure with my marriage and then those two relationships after my divorce. Most of the time I am happy being single and not dating and just living my life the way I want to but then there's other times that I do get sad about the loss of my marriage and most likely being single the rest of my life. I definitely will follow your journey because I just subscribed to your channel and I just hope that you're able to keep your head up and know that it's okay to cry and let out your feelings. Don't keep them in. Just know that you have subscribers on your channel that care and will cheer you on as you conquer through this new life Journey. I thought my husband also was going to protect me and we would grow old together. I thought he was the only man in the world that would never hurt me and when I found out about his double life I too was just totally blindsided. I've never felt so betrayed in my entire life. And I still go through stages that I question if he ever truly loved me. He ended up remarrying after our divorce his new wife was so incredibly obsessed with me. Having her little clique always harassing me on Facebook or making posts about me. It was just absolutely horrible. My divorce took a year and a half and it cost $14,000. My ex-husband ended up passing away last year August 18, 2023. The last 8 years of my marriage my then husband gotten into drugs. I never use drugs and I did anything and everything to try and help him. In Massachusetts you could go to court and ask the judge to have someone sectioned by the court to go into rehab and I did that many many times. So I would go to court the judge will sign off on it and then the police would show up at the house and handcuffed him and take him to unlock the unit rehab. At the time he would be so pissed off at me but once he got cleaned he always thanked me for saving his life. Before the drugs he was the most amazing man but once he turned to drugs he turned into somebody I didn't even know. He was using drugs, he was having Affairs and just making the wrong choices. Even when he would get clean he still had the addictive mindset and never turn the back into the man that I fell in love with he always told me if I left him that he would die and that's why I stayed for so long when he was using because I just didn't want that in my conscience that if he died then it would be my fault because I left him. When I finally did end up leaving him it was because I had found out about his double life of a relationship that he was having with another woman who ended up also being an addict. I walked away from my marriage broken to my core. I had lost all of my happiness and peace because for those 8 years day in and day out all I could think about is trying to keep him alive . I just could it mentally or physically stay in that marriage a moment longer because it took everything out of me. Like I said he ended up passing away last August from Cardiac Arrest brought on from drug use. When I found out that he passed away I totally broke because he always told me that if I left him he would die and obviously I left him and he died I've been working through that pain with my counselor. I no longer blame myself for his passing away after I left him. But most days now I'm okay but other times I do just start to cry . I am looking forward to watching your journey but just know that you need to give yourself Grace because divorce is hard and there's a lot of emotions that you will have so it's okay to break down. You don't need to be strong every second of every day. If you don't feel strong one day then take that day to grieve. Because it is a loss . As time moves on you will find your own path and he will find that you have more better days than hard days. But even all these years later, I still have my moments and then it really came back and hit me hard when he passed away so just know your journey will have its ups and downs and like I said give yourself Grace because there's a lot of emotions that you will go through as you navigate through this transition in your life.❤

At least you have family to fall back on and a home to move into. Most people don’t have that. My divorce was extremely difficult and have moved 10 times since. Thankfully our daughter is a young adult and helps out now. Those years were tough and the struggle is real. Still no home of my own yet and 48. Seems like you will be back on your feet sooner than most, and you have an amazing outlook on the situation, that and housing will set you on your way. I’ve been divorced almost 15 yrs now, and never remarried. I’m fearful of marrying another narcissist and would rather stay single and alone than be in a horrible relationship again. I have not chosen well in the past due to trauma and being raised in a cult (controlling environment) and when my daughter and I watch dating shows, I still pick the wrong guys, almost always, so I’m unqualified to pick someone good for me and therefore choose to remain in the struggle alone. All the best to you, blessings!

I had this happen to me as well. I moved out and left with minimal things, it was hard. I thought I had a good life. My life changed from one day to the next. That was 2years ago. I had to find a job, a car, a place to live, everything. Yes, it’s hard and it’s lonely and it’s painful. I’ve come along way and I’m proud of myself. I’ve bought a car, moved twice and found a job. I’m just now feeling settled and having my own routines. It’s tough but I found out, so am I and so are you. The only advice I can give is to take it one hour at a time and give yourself some grace. You’ll soon find out who your true friends are and just who you are. Trust your gut and go with what feels right. You’ll get back to feeling like yourself and learn to laugh and eventually love again. (I’m still working on the love part!) 🥰

I wouldn’t worry so much about your fertility journey. You are still young. I had my identical twins at age 35. There is a lady that I was watching her Vlog today and she is pregnant with her second child, a little boy and she is 51. Her little girl is 2 1/2. Even though I’ve been married, this coming December will be 33 years, I’m 66, it’s like ships passing in the night. He has claimed his bedroom down at the other end of the hallway and I have the master bedroom and bath. It’s been like that for at least five years. It’s not that I don’t care for him, because I do. However, he needs to seek counseling for issues that I can’t help him with, but he doesn’t think he has. I’ve tried my best, and our children are grown. Our grandchildren are the loves of our lives, and for that, I’m saddened. I don’t wish him any harm because deep inside he’s a good person. I just believe there’s just been too many words and too much distance. He refuses to even go to marriage counseling. Mind you, I get counseling for just myself twice weekly and I asked him just to go get evaluated and he refused. So I totally understand where you are and I think you’ll find so much more peace than what you’re living in right now. Stuff is just stuff. Think about it this way… Like my older son told me last night… In 60 years we are all going to be gone. So enjoy your life while you can. Do something great for God and get involved with like-minded people who lift you up.🙏🏼 You got this! Debra

No more children. My son kept praying for a brother (did not know he was doing this). Next thing I know is I'm pregnant and the doctor was shocked. Had a great 9mths and had c-section with a beautiful son. Guess what...they are 19 yrs apart but super close. The youngest helps to look after his brother. God is good. ♥️🙏

I have always been single so I have always observed marriages and divorces. My advice is you are stronger than you know. Women are far more superior than men because we are expected to do so much more than they do. We (as females) can stand on our own two feet without having to depend on a man. I don't know what is going on in your life, but one door closes another door will open whether it is enjoying your life as a free woman or finding another partner who actually treats you so much better than the last one. Right now you are hurting and have to deal with the divorce, picking up the pieces and creating a new life for yourself. Do what you need to do, but see this as a learning experience and move on with your life.

Girl, you will be fine! God has a plan for you. Time heals everything. My ex cheated on me when I was pregnant with our second son. Didn’t find out about the affair until almost 1 yr later. We separated as soon as I found out. It was Valentine’s Day 2007. My boys had just recently turned 2 & 1. Moved across the country back in with my parents. The first year I was a wreck. So depressed I couldn’t work. After that year though I went back to school and finished my degree and got back to work. Now my oldest just graduated HS and the other will graduate next year.

So sorry to hear about your divorced. I’m divorced as well (a long time ago, now) and like you, it wasn’t a total surprise when it came down to it. Which didn’t make it easier, of course. It’s giving up the dreams and plans you had for one life to build another one. This won’t feel that helpful now but honestly, I look back on it as one of the best decisions i could have made, for both of us. We’re both where we were supposed to be in life. I strongly believe that almost all people - friends, partners, maybe even family - come into your life for a season. Sometimes the season is long and sometimes its not. If you can get to a place where you’re comfortable with that knowledge, it makes the moving forward easier. For now, though, here’s my advice: *take the time to heal; divorce sucks under the best of circumstances *stay single for awhile. Seriously, most ppl don’t and that time is crucial. *hang out with supportive friends and family often *don’t underestimate the power of pets to brighten your spirits 😊 *Don’t let yourself get to a place of resentment or if you do, set a time limit with yourself. That will make your happiness so much harder to access. *its ok to have a shit day. Some days will suck for no reason. It’s normal and you don’t owe anyone to put on a smile when breathing hurts.

They say everything happens for a reason. I'm sure on your journey you will figure out the why and then you can continue on to a happy life.

Hi Ann Thank you so much for being willing to share this difficult time with us. I’m going through a different kind of loss my 20 year old son estranged from the entire family with no warning overnight and I now have 0 co tact with him. The hardest thing I’ve ever been through. It helps so much to see that there are other people out there trying to find a way to keep going through hard times and I really appreciate when KZbinrs share the hard times because it would be easy to only show the good moments and pretend everything is good. I wish you all of the luck with the changes coming in your life. You can do this 💓💓💓

I realized it’s not our job to change them. If they can’t get the help they need or admit their problems it’s time to leave and do what’s better for the kids. Almost through my divorce after 20 years. I’m completely starting over with 2 teens. Getting ready to move and excited for the next chapter. You will be get through this , one day at a time ❤ So happy you’ll be near family again 😊🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

You have to have faith that doors will open. Take one day at a time. Do not overthink nor beat yourself up over this. Mend first. Best wishes, you are not alone.
