I feel like they make the cages so tall so when they bend in wrecks they dont bend straight into someones head, kind of like some leeway for the metal to bend before making contact with our domes. Idk if thats their reason, but it makes some sense to me. Love the videos!

Hi Kimberly! You know we've never really looked at it that way but a couple others on this feed have noted the same perspective. Thanks for the feedback and we hope to keep making good content for you.

The cage is high because when you roll it does not crush your arms. The wheels have little offset so the brakes and assembly can be protected in the wheel.

That may be true but guys are spending thousands $ on a lower cage and a few more thousands to make them safe. 😂.

The difference in safety/quality and assurance with a new heavier gauge cage is unbelievable.

Should’ve just bought a normal Turbo XP if you didn’t want the 72” wide one(BTW the Pro R is the one that’s 74” wide) Also I wish Turbo S’s were $28k here in Utah all the 21’s are around $40k

Wow, that is way too expensive!

Cage is tall to slow down roll over. Short cage rolls more before stopping

Not exactly sure what you're saying here lol.

the roll cages are designed to absorb energy of an impact or rollover not for the head height. Cr-Mo cages are tougher for sure. The S cages can be welded they are DOM steel where the XP (non-S) are mild steel and cannot be welded (from what I heard)

Had a 2019 Turbo S dynamix for 3 years. I now drive a 22 XRS with smart shox. The 2 machines are worlds apart. And the pro R has some even worse design flaws IMO.

Polaris has been able to rest on its laurels for a LONG time and not had to put much effort into build quality. Just crank 'em out and go to the bank. Hopefully, now that Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha are getting more into the game, we'll see them make some changes. Increases in power are nice and all, but adding some quality to the machine would mean more to me at this point.

the "grinding of clutch" is your transmission not the clutch, the belt tension if too tight will cause hard shifting if the secondary clutch is spinning fast it is hard to shift, adjust you belt deflection until the secondary is just barely moving if at all. then shifting is easy.

Lmao my trailing arms are sand blasted AF after 2000 miles 😂😂 ! Couldn’t agree more with your hate towards the stock cage but I wouldn’t invest the time in chopping it. A big part of why it’s so ugly is how narrow the roof is which makes the side pillar posts look like they’re sticking out a foot on each side. Chopping won’t fix that ugliness. I’d buy a cage before new tires and wheels for sure.

XP/XPT trailing arms take a beating as well. I put guards on mine prior to taking it out. I agree, some protection should come from the factory. Wheels increasing width... XPT is the solution if you must upgrade to a low offset wheel. The suspension design of your Turbo S allows more articulation and travel, resulting in a better ride. Cage is high because it's weak and will give. Basically, it is made to crush down on you and the height helps keep you from getting crushed. That's not a clutch issue if you're grinding gears. That's a gear selector issue. The clutch issues that 21 Turbos and Pro XP's is that they slip. The secondary spring will help with the latter.
