I love this. I'm another born minimalist-- I've always preferred getting rid of things to shopping, and I like living a life that's as spacious and peaceful as possible. It's so beautiful to hear others express a similar philosophy.

I don't need any motivational books or videos. I just watch all your videos and that's enough to teach me about this spectrum of life. On many levels I can relate to all your videos and topics that you talk about. Your tone of voice has this certain positive aura that draws my attention to every single word you say. So enlightening. Waiting for more.

Hi Sena, you pointed out something I agree for several years now: “stopping watching tv news” and reading newspapers too much. They all focus on negativity (crime, war, death, fire, climate change and so on). Some may say we are just covering our eyes or ears but in fact it’s a salvation of ourselves. Why ? Because we are trying to find positiveness throughout our daily life by other means.

This is the second video of yours I watched. It explains much more clear to execute minimalism to individual personal perspectives. What I learned from this video is that it's not what to do or what not to do. It is about to streamline your personal options in life and focus on what matters to yourself most. Though it's easier said than done that not caring other people's opinions, won't it sound a little bit autistic or even conceited? What I can do currently is let go the negativity from others swiftly, but not possible to ignore or block them at all. Afterall, we are only mortals.

oh wow, me too. My Mom use to feel a bit upset with me (Japanese mom) because I was always decluttering. I like the space between things as much as the few very special objects that rest within that space. When I moved out of my 1 bedroom apartment years ago, my friend laughed and said we can move you out in in less than 2 hours. Yes not "obsessed" or even overly fascinated or desirous of material things either. I use to feel disapproval at those who were interested in fashion trends. BUT as an artist, everything I do comes from that same place that my art comes from - skating, painting, singing, poetry....my clothing choices, car, what furniture I do have (with lots of space) comes from that same artistic creative soul place. If one is open to considering the idea that we are first beings of an immaterial nature, and that we can only be "seen" and "experienced" by other in this world by the way we "re-present" ourselves in this material realm, then the only way that others can kind of see me, since they can not see my non physical self or soul directly is thru my words, actions, quiet presence and material "re-presentations" of myself. In other words, I can NOT select an item of clothing because it is current or because it looks great on someone else or because it may get me attention, I choose an item of clothing because it FEELS like "me" and reflects or re-presents who I am....in the same way my paintings do, my singing, etc. And these things are not created for the primary purpose of being "seen", but because they organically have to be expressed from that source and center of being, that natural desire to express and create in the world. You can see some of my art at NathanielJamesArt.com :) which by the way are 100% free hand, not using any computers or rulers or objects to create the details, hand painted. Last... one of my favorite ?s to ask when someone is complaining about large "issues" in the world, is "and what are you doing to improve this situation?" That usually gets a blank look :). Very glad to find your videos, this is my first one, and I resonate with your experience. best........SHAKESPEARE: "Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so". liked, subscribed and belled :)

I've read in a book that people are comfortable with the familiar. Refraining yourself only worsens the problem of acceptance because you're conforming to their ideals and expectations. Acceptance, however optional, naturally occurs through repetitive acts until barely noticed or acknowledged or addressed.

My Mother was a wizard at finding things for me and she would buy it, then I would pay her back. My Cousins bought a $600.00 Apple Watch and I think "Why do you need to have such an expensive Watch when a $10.00 Watch gives the time the same way?" One of them is in high debt but she needed to showoff and showboat.

You are doing great! Your English is just fine. The whole point of language is to communicate with others, to share ideas, and to have fun, by posting KZbin videos in English you are doing that. There are people who delight in the technicalities of grammar and only want to communicate corrections, that is not a fun way to share a language. It is better to demonstrate the best use of the language for others to copy. I grew up in an American military neighborhood where many American soldiers brought back wives from Japan, South America, Germay, and France. The mother's did not speak English and me and all their kids learned how to beg food and play in all those languages. Later I sent to University to learn how to read and write, since I only knew how to speak. There was no kanji so I lost Japanese, I apparently learned to speak low German, not the high German spoken in the big cities, and French spelling did not resemble the spoken word at all, and my Spanish teacher taught Castilian a very formal form of Spanish. The University experience ruined my ability to have fun talking with people who spoke Japanese, French, German, and Spanish. I liked your talk on minimalism, through minimalism you are becoming a man for others, you only take a small slice of the pizza pie and leave lots of slices for others to share. Keep posting.

As an Italian, I just want to give you my point of view, about why it s not good to eat, while you Re walking.... You see, we are sensitive creatures, and we make sensorial experiences, whenever we do something... To us Italians, eating is one of those experiences, and I Love to be sat on a chair, and not doing anything but eating my meal (even if it s a Sandwich or some fruits or a chocolate bar)... Then I can really enjoy the taste of it, and literally the sensors in my mouth send signals to my brain, which send them back to my body and heart, giving me different sensations, in general calming me down and improving my good mood... If I taste something extremely delicious and unknown, like a foreign country meal that s fabulous to me, I might even shade a couple tears of surprise 😂... If I walk, I have the sensation of stress in doing 2 complete opposite things at one time... For what? Save time.... Too bad, I want my time for a couple things during the day and I feel like I m inserting food in my body to get energically full.. But not really enjoying the food... So I d rather save my food for home, maybe walk a bit faster.. And then put it into the oven/microwave to have it warm again... Do maybe less during the day, but do one thing at the time and be in that moment... That preserves from stress too😉💚

毎回動画を見れば見るほど、セナさんの価値観と自分の価値観がほぼ100%といっていい程同じでびびります。 色んな項目について、視点や考え方、それらが周囲の一般的なものからは少しずれている事も含めて同じです。 I also used to have doubts on Japanese social rules and customs when I was a junior high student. So I studied abroad for a few years. This experience made me realize that each country has both good and bad things in society. Now I work in Japan. And thx to my experience above, I can accept the Japanese rules and customs I really used to hate.

Great video. I've also wondered why it's considered rude in Japan to eat while walking outside. Sometimes mores like this exist for surprising reasons. I have noticed that food tastes more intense when you are sitting eating it than while standing or walking. It's as if the brain can be more focused on the taste and eating experience while just sitting calmly than while walking. I wonder if this is why it's frowned upon in Japan. Making it into a social more is just a mechanism (like a religious prohibition).

I recently read a quote that I'd like to share. It said, "What others think of me is none of my business." Unfortunately, I don't know the original author of this quote in order to give proper credit. However, while I believe this to be a true statement, it's still hard as human beings not to be concerned about how others view us and our values and choices.

I really want to be a minimalist but I am lazy when it comes to cleaning uncleaned things. However, this video gives me the urge to do it anyway. Aside from the fact that you are cute, it is really the content that hooks me up on your videos. 😅💜

If you have less stuff, less things to clean so less effort. As a lazy person, this works. :D
