👋 The main thing I look for in a friend is someone who is selfless. Beacause that will determine that they will care, love, and be empathetic to you! I also think someone who is loyal and encouraging!

How i made friends was basically on the first day of school, id choose a spot where someone was likely to sit and sat there, then people would sit next to me, infront of me or behind me, then id usually do an activity like drawing or writing something and wait for them to look at what im doing, acting like im completely zoned out, and if they asked me something, id reply and try to keep the convo up. Imo this worked a bit but the biggest problem for me is maintaining friends because i havent talked to any of them since summer started

@@monicology Thanks and enjoyed your video till the end. And smashed that like button too. One of my favorite quote that I remind myself everyday is “Life is not short; We just waste most of It." by Seneca. Or “People are frugal in guarding their personal property; but as soon as it comes to squandering time they are most wasteful of the one thing in which it is right to be stingy. It is not that we have so little time but that we lose so much. ... The life we receive is not short but we make it so; we are not ill provided but use what we have wastefully.” Do you've any favorite at the moment?
@monicology4 жыл бұрын
@@QuestionEverythingButWHY Thanks for your support! These are really meaningful quotes. I'll add these to my quote book! I think one of my favourite quotes is this one: “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.” ― Norman Vincent Peale This quote is quite meaningful to me and I live by it, to a certain extent. For much of my life, I've always held back on what I wanted to do because I always wanted to avoid possible failures. But that changed in the recent years. Like this quote suggests, I think there's much to learn even from "failed" experiences. Simply not going for something, say a competitive job opening, because of the possible negative consequences guarantees a missed opportunity. Conversely, applying to a competitive position means there's a chance for success and guaranteed an opportunity to learn something throughout the process. That's been my mindset. :)

@@monicology I didn't knew that quote back then but I used to say something similar, "Shoot for the star. At least you will reach the moon." That's how my life has been. I used to use that quote to my friends all the time. But recently I stopped using this quote. Maybe because it's obvious to everyone now. Reading your comment reminded me of few quotes I love. Here it is. “Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” ― Albert Einstein “Until you're ready to look foolish, you'll never have the possibility of being great.” ― Cher “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.” --Mark Twain “Unfortunately, the clock is ticking, the hours are going by. The past increases, the future recedes. Possibilities decreasing, regrets mounting.” ― Haruki Murakami Hope you find it comforting!

I like everything in here.. Loving your edits in aesthetic way and that writing in the tablet. And yes "Friendship is a Process" you can't call somebody as FRIEND if you feel you can't connect with their soul. Friendship is always a gift - - it is being with co humans and help making life more colorful and wonderful. Friendship is priceless. It's not available unfortunately in Amazon and whatsoever online and personal stores. Rather it is stored in the heart! I just met you. So how are you doing?? You're amazing. Study groups, frosh events, and even just going to interactive places on the campus. We had a place we called the rec house at UofT - it had a pool table, some chalk boards, a huge tv- we would go there for movie nights and at the time the Walking Dead was the it show and so we would watch there every week with like 30 people who loved the show! If there isn’t anything like this on your campus, may it happen! Watch parties are super fun and you can do it with any show or movie :) Great video! Your tips will definitely help people!

Funny thing is that most of my first year friends were all by accident. I was in marching band my first year of college so that helped to meet a whole bunch of new people at once. I already knew a handful of people and after the end of rehearsal I was talking to someone taht I thought was my friend because I was looking down and this guy had the same shoes on. I didn't look up so I was saying ,"Hey we should go grab lunch at Dodson." The response shocked me, "I'd be glad to, but who are you?" I looked up and was 10 shades of embarrassed, but this guy and I did go grab lunch and he became one of my best friends. We still joke about me mistaking him for someone else based on his shoes 25 years later. Another person -- I trying to find all of my classrooms prior to class starting and walked into one of the two gymnasiums. I literally walked into someone. I turned 10 shades of red and he apologized for not paying attention. So yeah. Be yourself. That one person happened to be a new member of a church group I was interested in so by literally walking into someone I met so many more people some of whom are still my friends 25 years later.
