University alumni here. To shed light for people, one of the best ways I made friends was Through student clubs or attending events, and putting yourself out there. That'll depend on time you have in your schedule with classes and all that, but friendships will come. Or start one too. I loved University for that because student clubs allow you to explore interest areas and seek and discover what you enjoy and care about. It makes the experience that much more enriching than just attending classes for however many years. It's worth making the most of it if you have time.

I’m so scared. My last 3 years in high school I had not one close friend, I went to maybe 2 parties that whole time and didn’t even celebrate my 16 and 17 birthday because I had no one to invite. Now I’m about to start medical school. Sadly no physical introduction week because of corona and when classes start it’s mostly gonna be online. I lucked out and got fantastic roommates and I got to know the people in my major really well. I would genuinely consider them among the best friends I ever had. Admittedly I got lucky, but as long as you keep making opportunities to get face time with people (talk with classmates, join clubs, get an on campus job) you'll do alright.

honestly, I still don’t feel like I have one “best friend” but I think that’s how college friendships are for a lot of people and it lets you discover more about yourself by meeting all kinds of people :) it’s totally normal so just keep putting yourself out there!

I'm moving to a whole new country for college in few months and im so scared cause English is not my first language and I have never been alone in my entire life. there have definitely been roommate horror stories but I love my roommate. :) I think as long as you get to know them before and try to request someone with compatible living habits, you'll be alright!

i'm ga- with that mindset of finding it impossible it won’t happen. Be open to it. Change your mindset even if it sounds unbelievable you will be more likely to put yourself out there and accomplish it
