Loved it, a lot to unpack for me. Seems overwhelming--I'm a 73 year old with a new grand son on the way. Been over 30 years since we've had a newborn. Funny thing, I grew up when it was only cloth diapers and feeding. Circle and to disposables and bottle feeding. And full circle back. Except with a million variables and options.

My mum cloth nappied me, when it was just a piece of material a pin and a waterproof cover 🙌 there’s still some like that, but definitely so many options now! It’s a good thing, but definitely can be overwhelming, I’m happy to answer any questions and see if I can help x

We've been using cloth for 10+ years, I've lived through all the laundry myths lol such as a teeny amount of detergent, only special cloth nappy detergent, cold washes ect ect. Biological detergent is fine and is actually reccomended by a lot of manufacturers. Its cleans much better and we've had no bamboo break down using bio. left over urine due to a poor wash routine can break down bamboo plus its a weaker fabric so will show wear much faster than cotton or hemp. We lost some bamboo fitteds long ago due to a poor wash routine but we were using non bio (fairy) at the time. If non bio works for people, great but there is absolutely no harm in using bio. Non bio isn't really a thing in most parts of the world anyway.

We’ve been using pocket nappies for about a month now and recently bought a Velcro one to try and have been loving it. I had totally forgotten that babies go through that stage where they take their clothes off haha!! Glad you brought that up before I bought more of them!

white vinegar is a natural laundry softener maybe you could use that?

Interesting, I found that I liked a different type of nappy as my son has grown and he’s 8m tomorrow now so I bet I’ll probably change my mind on faves again in the future. Good tips for first timers on reusables!

Hi there! Do you dry the pocket nappies with the inserts still in there?
@JoyTorress3 жыл бұрын
When you wash them they come out naturally, you dry them separately.
@The_Freckle_Fam3 жыл бұрын
I don’t dry them inside, as when I wash them they come out during the cycle 🙌

How many nappies will you go through in one day? I want to get totsbots and I plan to get bamboo charcoal inserts. I'm confused on whether you take the nappy off every change or just replace the insert and if the outside nappy gets dirty then change?
@The_Freckle_Fam3 жыл бұрын
Hi! it completely depends on what type of nappy you go for and on your baby (their age, whether they are a heavy wetter/teething can affect nappies too etc) so its not something I can really say is straight forward sorry! however to cloth full time you need about 20 wish- which covers us about 4 days x

@@The_Freckle_Fam thanks for replying, I just bought 17 totsbots all in ones with loads of bamboo inserts and fleece liners second hand but great condition so i guess I'll see how I get on with that 😖😂

I’ve just bought 2 all in one bambino mio I think they’re called, I don’t know whether I’ll fully convert yet! Think I’m stressing about when I’m out for the day or whatever I’ve got to carry the wee full nappies around with me? Any advice
@chloemahner96923 жыл бұрын
Get a double zipped wet bag! One section holds dry and one holds wet, completely waterproof and separate so you can carry around the dirty ones without worrying
@The_Freckle_Fam3 жыл бұрын
Completely agree with this! Also, don’t feel a massive pressure to not buy disposables, I still have the odd one in my glove box and bag, for just in case! And also I know plenty of mums who cloth nappy but don’t when going out and about💕 I suppose, the best was is what the lady recommended, a double wet bag is what you need but again- don’t feel like a failure if you can’t!
