Thanks for your pragmatic & level-headed advice. I think that in earlier times (which some of us still remember), when there were more small/private/family-run businesses (incl. family farms) more people knew what it took to run ones' own business: hard work, ultimate responsibility, and much more. The rewards for labor & financial independence are for many, a pinnacle, & sacrifices, worthwhile. You do a great service by educating people about the earth-bound, sleeves-rolled-up reality of running even a microbusiness. Thanks, again.

Yours is not a microbusiness, of course, but for many resellers, that's the right size & fit - same principles apply

You always give such a unique behind the scenes view of this business … and it’s so true. I can vouch for that .. having spent many years At house calls and digging through estates. I’m not above still doing it if I get a call for a good haul … but I’m not as young as I used to be. So I say dig while you can and are willing. It’s hard work but can be rewarding in many ways, Thanks for all of your advice and efforts … esp. for those people just starting out. It’s priceless.

PROF, you crack me up! T.Y. so, so much for telling the truth about this gig! It IS for me, but I’m currently a care taker for an ill husband. Could I do this full-time? Well yes, but I’ll NEVER make big money because I’m NOT cut out to be a bazillionaire even if I wasn’t taking care of him. I’m just NOT! I tried being an entrepreneur “back in the day” when I was young, and that was in my undiagnosed ADHD days. NO executive functioning or organizational skills. But HAPPY, I CAN do. The antiques, the new stuff, the marketing, the business aspect, the customer service, resourcing dollar priced items and turning it 15X or the rare 150% thrills me to no end. THIS IS my gig. I learn new stuff daily, and it never gets old. It can be a pain in the a$&, but what job isn’t?! You are my FAVE “mentor” (my term) and I’m getting more, but I LOVE how you think, and I love being your student! Cheers my friend Sir!

Certainly a job, weather full time or part. Time is money and just research alone take's time. If we are not interested in that alone, it can cost us dearly. Thanks for all the advice you give, it is extremely useful and realistic.

When lowering and raising price you could change the cents, that way you know if it’s up or down. IE $14.99 vs $13.89, etc. just a thought.

It’s called “ getting older & wiser” and you found the perfect niche with your expertise. So why not share and help others. I don’t think everyone understands the time that goes into reselling and why it is priced as so. I’ve watched you for the past couple of years, and I appreciate the honesty and can see the change in your new videos. The new videos, I feel like I’m hanging out with you giving friendly advice. ♥️ All in all I think you have been very informative, honest, enlightening and funny at times. You actually have a nice smile! Thank you for keeping me on track and all the learning curves you have shared with us all. You are one of the best on U Tube and thank you so much for all the effort and time put into sharing your knowledge. ♥️

Dedication will get you where you want to go, but you have to stick with it in the good & bad of things. Better if you can do selling with a team like Don does as it's very hard as an individual doing everything. At least when Don is out buying, things are still being uploaded by others to sell, while others do the packing & everything else. Me being disabled, it is very hard to do everything, and that's why I can't load like people like Don any time. I do what I can when I can, eBay sales would be better if it wasn't for eBay changing & changing & changing things all the time, it's got to the point of being ridiculous now. We should call Don, Mr Motavator, as that's what he does for everyone who watches him all the time. Thank you, Don. Charles in the UK

I hear ya, I’ve gone to filthy abandoned workshops, homes, etc and you do get dirty. I spend a half a day in an old shed digging through boxes that were covered with spider webs, wasp nest and layers of dust. Now sourcing is not my issue it’s listing everything.

Much of what Don is sharing in this video certainly would have helped me in the beginning. No doubt about it. Inventory control and accounting being the top two. Mentioned a few times was the concept of a race to the bottom on pricing. We refuse to do that and at times capitalize on that race. Always helpful information, thanks.

I've had a booth for 3 years and the profit hasn't been good. Some vendors at my flea market have great sales. It comes down to the buyer. I sell a variety of items, and I've had big sale discounts that lead to a big disappointment. I've thought about eBay, but two of the vendors at my flea market had bad experiences that discouraged me from trying. Also, as funny as it may sound, shipping intimidators me. I have a full-time job and I'm afraid of not being quick to respond to a sell. The other reason I went with a booth was to avoid inventory, but I didn't escape it. I've donated a lot of items due to buying what I thought would sell, and wasted a lot of money. Thank you for the video.

I loveeeeee this video. My sister and I get dirtyyyy.. we climb in attics and basements and all. I hate bugs that's the only thing that will stop me. However I have gotten cut, sprains and fish hooks stuck in my hand. Worst thing is plantar fascitis I got from over stretching my foot digging in bins. Have had it since April definitely has slowed me down

RE: Promoted listings. The proposed value in promoted listings is not in search results, but rather being displayed in the "Similar Sponsored Items" when viewing an individual listing.

You say you don't eat sugar. Great. No soft drinks from gas stations. Plus stop eating all carbs. Only eat protein and vegetables, and also Fast (don't eat). You will loose weight. Drink coffee with cream - the cream is fat and will satiate your hunger. The less you weigh, the longer you will live.
