Disagree. The Yankees have Arias and Lombard Jr. on the way to take either 3B, SS or 2B in the next few years. Let’s see what we have in Peraza and Cabrera and have DJL fill in if he shows any signs of a pulse. The team got through half a season of NOTHING from 1B, 2B, 3B and LF last year and made it to the World Series. This year they should be better with the second year of Wells, with Bellinger, Dominguez, Goldschmidt and a full year of an excited Chisholm Jr. I think letting the kids man a couple of spots with their defense and the big improvements in the pitching will work out well.

@@waynepatrick1646 with which part? A Stanton renaissance or with developing the pieces they have? Stanton very well could go out and stink up the place. But I don’t see both Peraza and Cabrera being bad offensively and defensively, or even just offensively. With consistent at bats and being down in the order, either could easily hit .250 with a better with a decent OBP. Cabrera was at .247 in 109 games last year, imagine how much better he could be with one or two consistent fielding spots. Peraza hasn’t been given the play time to know what he can do. Then there’s Lombard Jr and his skills, Arias looking pretty handy and then more behind them. I get the “get the proven guy NOW so we win NOW!” impetus, but if the team made it on a prayer and with a few lucky breaks and are now BETTER, let’s see what the kids are.

I really hope DJ can get his health back with a decent year. I miss Loasiga too. I loved him when he was healthy .(probably butchered the name) I love peraza as well. Cabrera seems to be a good utility bench guy but not every day.

By MLBs 10/5 rules DJ cannot be traded without his permission, I wouldn't just pony up money for Bregman unless it is 4 years or less

Trade for Alec Bohm. He’s 28. He’s only due $7.7 million this upcoming season and has 2 more years of control . He was an All-Star this past season. 3 WAR. OPS+ is basically the same as Bregman at 117. He hits the ball extremely hard (something the Yankees love). His defense has been improving. Yes he’s got some character concerns but so did guys like Paul O’Neil back in the day and Jazz Chisholm this past season before they traded for him. Take a risk. If it doesn’t work then it doesn’t work. If it does work they’ve got a young cheap recent All Star to handle 3rd for the near future. You can also move him to 1st if the offense works but you want better defense going forward. Two of Will Warren, Everson Periera and Oswald Peraza. All 3 of these guys are blocked (at their natural positions right now) and they have other prospects (further away) to cover and that project with higher ceilings. All 3 are major league ready which is what the Phils want: Phillies are still rumored to looking to trade him so they can maybe move onto Bregman.

Internal options are terrible, none of them should be a viable option. DJ is done. Oswalds x 2 arent major league players, let alone starting for a "championship " team. But if just getting to the playoffs is the goal, there ya go, put the bums on the infield and waste another year of Judges prime years.

I don't think The Yankees need to go outside for another soon to be DH. Oswaldo Cabrera will do just fine, if the Yankees get Brakeman I will dump all my Yankee crap and switch to the Dodgers. I still hate anything Houston. & I've been a Yankee fan since '61.

I mean perraza and perriera are not slouches they might surprise us. If we don’t do something pre season we are going to grossly over pay at the trade deadline so not spending now makes absolutely no sense

Chris, you’ve only seen OZ in that position. You aren’t positive that, that’s all he can do. OZ was cooking before berti got here and the threw him in. If you can double his output, I’ll rock with that 🤷🏽 He’s earned a shot imho
