So player agency affects the world a lot more than in Snowrruner. This is cool. Let's hope that the world is not static (like in snowrunner) and that the "world" also has agency of some kind, to keep the gameplay interesting. Like for example, severe weather that could cause flash floods which can wash away roads, mess up the AI trucks etc. and similar stuff, which can wreak havoc and allow the sandbox to feel more alive, and give the player an incentive to keep coming back to the game.

I'm so looking forward to this game. I've spent the last 30 odd year in civil construction mainly new roads and highways, I had back surgery a few years ago and can no longer operate plant. I could and did operate everything from scrapers, Moxies, dozers through to excavators, dozers and graders. I miss is so much, hopefully this game scratches the itch.

@votpavel most things are just fun to operate, I enjoyed the scrapers the most they get around pretty fast for their size and your always on the go with em. Most of the people in that environment are always fun talking the piss out of each other there is always a laugh to be had. There is alot of responsibility that goes with operating anything but I got a lot of satisfaction out of doing it

I can't wait to give this a go. A lot of what the player base/ Me have been asking for, for a while. More construction themed vehicles you can actually use and actual tasks for these vehicles, along with the hauling part of SR we so love.

Wish the DEVs would debug Snowrunner a bit and improve old and/or practically abandoned trucks rather than releasing new games. Even moving Snowrunner to a new engine and debugging existing physics would be really helpful.

I don't know how I feel about it yet. The most off-putting detail for me so far is all that "tracing a route for AI trucks" affair and then having to babysit them. I know that they probably came up with this so that certain rebuilding operations can be expedited, especially in single-player, but I personally wouldn't have minded doing the various trips myself to bring materials (after putting almost 2,000 hours in SnowRunner, of course I don't mind driving, heh heh). After watching the gameplay demo, have you got the impression that RoadCraft is a more 'on rails' experience than SnowRunner, or is there still a good deal of freedom of movement? Because _that_ is what I love most about SnowRunner. Anyway, I really really hope they will make a SnowRunner 2 with this newer game engine. It looks really badass so far, I'll definitely be getting it. I can't wait for mods because of the addition of tracked vehicles, you'll be able to have like halftracks and tanks and stuff like that on top of fully tracked trucks, opens up a whole new badass variety of vehicles.

From what is said here, I don't think I'll enjoy the game. I wanted to be the one delivering the materials and making the roads/bridges etc. This sounds more like a boss simulator with a bit more exploration. If they add the ability to do everything manually I will probably pick it up

I drive a tipper truck for a living. Loved mudrunner and snowrunner. They captured how it feels to drive at truck off road perfectly in mudrunner. The physics to me always seemed superior in mudrunner, the trucks were weighted better and didnt bounce around...in snow runner the trucks feel floaty some how. All they have to do for me is make a Snowrunner with the original physics engine and id be happy!

I loved Snowrunner and Mudrunner, but always wanted to rebuild the roads to have a sense of progress so with RoadCraft I'm basically getting what I wanted. Cannot wait for it and all the cool mods that will come as a result. I also wonder about if they will also allow us to base build in regions on top of building the roads that would be very cool.

Based on this demo, Roadcraft seems to be quite a different gaming experience - more strategy-focused rather than a pure driving game. It appears to be more of a parallel game rather than a direct replacement for Snowrunner. Interestingly, when the reporter asked about Snowrunner 2, Yan didn't reject the idea outright but laughed and said "I can't tell you anything at this stage" - that sounds more promising than a direct "no." I think Roadcraft and Snowrunner can coexist well - one focuses on more strategic infrastructure building, the other on the familiar off-road driving and cargo transportation. Different games for different needs! What do others think - do you believe Snowrunner will get a sequel?

I'm hoping if they do make a snowrunner 2 that it would be a combination of snowrunner and roadcraft, provided roadcraft is actually like good. The ultimate time consuming, virtual off-road logistics and rebuilding simulator where one map takes an ungodly amount of time to complete. Also hopefully they keep the modding ability snowrunner has. Regardless of how some might feel about mods I think having easy access to them on consoles is a feature that games should incorporate more. Love the channel, looking forward to gameplay footage of roadcraft 🚛

The more I hear about this game, the more promising it sounds. I'm cautiously optimistic this will get us the Snowrunner/Mudrunner experience a lot of us have wanted. I'm a little concerned though about 2 things. One of them is a pet peeve and the other is pretty serious: 1. The smoke from the pickup truck in the trailer bothers me. It should be the same color as it's been in every game since Spintires, these are all diesel-powered vehicles, and they're well known for their distinctive color. I'm hoping this is an oversight, or at least changeable via xmls. 2. The terrain deformation I've seen so far worries me a little. It looks like it'll work great for the construction vehicles, but the ground barely reacts (again, per the trailer) to the trucks, be they pickups or semi trucks. Easily deformable (and punishingly deep) mud has been around since Spintires, and has long-been a draw for many to this franchise.
