Breast reductions are not even cosmetic the nhs even covers it if needed because its physically straining and can cause chronic neck and back pain.

What is deemed as a Cosmetic Procedure can vary wildly between Health Boards, usually depending on the level of funding available or debt the Board has. I had a "Cosmetic Procedure" in 2005 to remove a Sebaceous Cyst on my Jaw. It was getting bigger and had become painful so my GP said they could refer me to a Specialist but that it would be Private, as the Health Board was in debt and could not accept the cost at that time. I was able to have it removed Privately (thank Goodness) as it was going to get worse and was deeper than was expected which they discovered during surgery! I was blessed not to have any scarring but the cost was considerable x
@debatingaftershock68166 жыл бұрын
Queen of Westeros Haha It’s a mix You can just get removal or deflated.... but it’s definitely cosmetic. Every human getting a reduction wants the cosmetic surgery if honest... because so many surgeries of reductions that are not cosmetically trained are so very very scary afterwards. (In appearance and function) That being said, you totally are correct..... it’s a cosmetic surgery that is also medical. Some people just suffer and are in such pain or even so sick because of large breasts and really need it. I actually had internal damage and bleeding because my breasts were naturally too large, as well as daily pain. Soooooo operation deflation had to commence Haha

I agree to an extent but it feels like a lie to me. Plus it's the uncanny valley thing. We could probably accept it if it looked normal but it doesn't, thus it's creepy. Like fake tits and them big massive lips look.. Unsettling. People just look strange when they're made out of plastic and are out of proportion, like really round tits that don't move. That's why the entire country hates Essex because a tan (especially fake) just looks weird in a nation with no sun and the highest population of red heads.
@Violka19876 жыл бұрын
Who are we to judge? We are the people who are entitled to our opinions about others. ESPECIALLY when you put yourself out there like that. You will have an opinion about me writing this, therefore making a judgement. WE. ALL. JUDGE. GIRL. You don't have to tell people all your opinions, but you 100% get to have them. If my boss is disgustingly fat and I see her shove cakes and biscuits when she thinks nobody's looking while she also tells us how she's on diet, I get to judge her for her lies and hypocrisy. I even get to judge her for her terrible fashion choices where you see her jiggly belly hanging out and her cankles spilling out of her shoes. Sure, I'll never tell her, but I get to judge her.

I would never understand why it's okay to fix your teeth but anything else is "too vain".
@norwestproductions16 жыл бұрын
Fixing your teeth is relatively cheap and if not done can, in some cases, cause serious medical issues or pain. None of these procedures are necessary; they are purely aesthetic. However, fixing your teeth has the potential to spare you pain in your adult life. I’ll link some academic papers on the subject later.
@marilia926 жыл бұрын
...yeah that makes sense but you can't deny that a lot of people do it just for aesthetic purposes.

Depends on what you mean by "fix your teeth" do you mean filling a cavity? That's done to slow degeneration. Not because of vanity. It's also a fact that a properly lined up teeth are more efficient at tearing and consuming food while minimizing the surface area exposed(again preventing degradation). Saline bags inserted under mammories don't help and can hinder breast milk production if preformed incorrectly(don't Google image search that)

you can wear makeup, style your hair, get tattoos and dress in expensive clothes and people (generally) won't pull the 'youre so vain' 'beauty is on the inside' bullcrap but if you get a bit of lip filler or a nose job your appearance is suddenly the only thing people care about
@hustle68506 жыл бұрын
thats because it's a shit tonne of money, it's irreversable. makeup is temporary, so if it looks crap it isn't forever. but some of these look bad, and thats forever so its a bigger deal

For the makeup thing I can tell you they do. I love makeup . My parents wouldn't let me wear it until I was like 16/17. I always developed earlier than my peers so I got boobs and acne when I was in like the 4th/5th grade and so I wanted makeup to cover up the break outs but as i got older and saw how much fun it was it stopped being so much about the insecurity and became the new and fun world I found with makeup especially now that I can afford things and I honestly believe now that I can wear makeup people make me feel more ugly than I ever felt during puberty. The sneers and condescending 'you look better without' and 'why do you hate yourself' and 'you're paying to ruin your skin' literally makes me want to shrivel up and die. I found this fun way to experiment with something that I hated for so long and now that I'm finding joy it's being attacked because it makes me 'vain' but also 'insecure'
@AriaAsacura6 жыл бұрын
Ok ye to be fair people do get super rude about makeup but there is also this big movement towards makeup as a form of self expression, but in some career fields women are punished for not wearing enough makeup. like im not saying people arent super rude bc they really are but there is more of a general acceptance towards 'you wear contour everyday to re-shape your face' and a lot ore hate towards 'you had fat removed from your cheeks to permanently change the shape of your face'

I get you guys say who are we to judge, but I feel like I’m living in a dystopia. Soon everyone will get surgery and it will become the norm. Instead of embracing our flaws, which we all have, we’re becoming just like everyone else. We keep trying to please society’s standards of men and women that we forget how human we truly are in our natural state. I don’t want to normalize cosmetic surgery
@ACDBunnie6 жыл бұрын
Some of us have our own beauty standards that don't match what society says it should be and we get cosmetic surgery to look like our own ideal. I think most people don't get that because most people don't have their own opinions about what beauty is and they just follow what society says. Besides, we don't embrace our flaws every time we wear make up or have a societal standard of beauty. It happens every time a "beautiful" person is chosen over an "ugly" person and I don't think that's going away anytime soon.
@marie-nm9jo6 жыл бұрын
Attie Davis wearing makeup is nothing compared to cosmetic surgery. Surgery is serious and permanent. Makeup is not and most people wear it to express their creativity not because they’re insecure. I still think it’s wrong to get cosmetic surgery
@Daisy-kg4ho6 жыл бұрын
marie molina Well I think it's wrong for you to judge. If the person is doing it for themselves, and they feel more comfortable in their skin after why does it matter?
@marie-nm9jo6 жыл бұрын
No I just don’t want this to be normalized in society where people fall victim to beauty standards. I know it doesn’t affect me but if people keep normalizing this, soon everyone will want to get surgery and we will lose the true meaning of what it’s like to be a human here on this planet. Everyone is so materialistic nowadays and I have a right to dislike that

Best decision I ever made for myself was getting a breast augmentation. The amount of times I’ve had to listen to people who I know spouting shit about how women who have boob jobs are so ‘self obsessed, vain, tacky and plastic looking’. As long as patients are making the decision for themselves just accept their choice and be happy for them!

"Someone who's vain can still be really kind." It's really true. Vanity might not be a character trait we strive for, but it doesn't necessarily mean someone is selfish, rude, cruel, or uncaring.

The problem is... people are constantly feeling the need to change themselves and blaming it on media... but by getting more and more plastic surgery they’re just brushing their insecurities under the rug instead of facing them/accepting them and truly loving themselves - so they’ll never be comfortable because they’re always wanting more 🙄 what makes a person isn’t just how perfect something is... I agree with plastic surgery if it’s to help someone with something that maybe causing problems but lip fillers and bum implants are just flat out insecurities that people are avoiding.... It always catches up with them again anyways and they’ll never be truly happy until they’ve faced the problem 🤷🏻♀️

Over the years I had a mommy makeover, I do Botox and fillers. I’m almost 45 and it’s maintenance. I get facials and I take really good care of myself. Im open to a facelift when the time comes. None of these comments bother me. As long as I’m happy, who cares what anyone, especially someone rude enough to comment like this, then it’s worth it. Say I’m vain, it’s probably true, but I’m also really kind and I’m very loyal. Don’t judge! I’ve never had anyone say this to me. Good lord.

I feel like one thing is commenting things people can't help, which is horrible. However, I've never heard of anyone needing a boob job to survive medically, so comparing this to the nasty comments i.e. Hairy Woman get, which is another episode, is stupid, misleading and downright disrespectful! Shame on you, silly BBCthree

To the girl asking why she shouldn't do plastic surgery: maybe you should reconsider the surgeries you've gone through our are thinking of undergoing since you clearly don't seem aware of the risks that surgery entails. Anaesthesiologists literally paralyse you, put you to sleep, remove all sense of poison and give you retrograde amnesia not without reason, and even Anaesthesia itself can be very dangerous. There's a reason why anaesthesiologists go through such thorough studies and are paid so much, even compared to other doctors.

My mom just had a boob job and a liposuction and I feel a bit akward about it. Like if I say she was always beautiful is kind of like questioning why she did this procedure in the first place. But if I compliment her is like reinforcing that she looks better with big boobs and skinnier and that she looks better than she did before. Personally I feel like she looked fine before and I dont understand it but I hope it makes her happy and that she feels beautiful now and doesnt feel like she needs more surgery. But honestly makes me feel akward and I just dont say anything to her about it. And sometimes she brings it up like that her boobs hurt cause she is still healing and I just kind of don't say anything. Honestly she looks proud of her surgery, all smiles. but I will rather she not have told me.

I have 52 piercings (none below my neck) and 8 tattoos and I gets so many people tell me "you look better without them". It's my body and my rules. I'll decorate it however I want. I had nose surgery a few years ago. It was medically classed as cosmetic surgery because they had to change the shape of my nose. I had a deviated septum and a fracture on the side of my nose from breaking it about 8 years prior to getting surgery.
