I really wish there were more audio cues for in game resource management. I'm legally blind, its hard sometimes to view meter or burst given that I'm playing with one eye and the eye ain't that good to begin with. Having audio cues for burst being up, for building bars of meter, for when assist is up and when last stand is up would go a long way for me personally. It would also be cool to have those things on a separate audio slider to turn it up or down on my own accord.

Level 2s taking a really long time with how often you see them is a little annoying. I kinda wish they did it like a few supers have in skullgirls, where if you hold the button it just kinda goes to the big hit with the same damage would be fun.

I think the burst has too much going on. I think the idea of your assist character coming in to do the burst is cool, but having their assist character jump in front of who you are attacking, let out a pretty strong sfx burst. Then blocking it adding another layer of sfx, with one character getting blown back while the other falls down. It’s so jarring seeing all that play out in 1 second. Guilty gear bursts are really simple animation wise and the sfx of the burst is pretty transparent which helps a lot in reducing the visual clutter.

The first time I blocked a burst I was utterly baffled by what had just happened because of the weird sound effect and unclear visuals. No way I was getting that punish combo. Even later, I was still super confused when it turned out I was getting the punish combo on the assist character, not the guy I was just trying to kill, because blocked burst auto-tags the opponent to their assist character for some reason. And with it happening so rarely I never did get the timing down on picking up the combo off that wallbounce right.

Maybe something like SF6's Drive Impact Punish Counter could help slow things down to keep things more readable. It doesn't have to be quite as dramatic: just has to be enough for someone to consistently understand what's going on and be able to go for an ideal punish.

I personally feel like guilty gear is super "loud," like everything happening on the screen has huge effects, there's a big ass combo counter in the back, the announcer has always got something to say, and the game can be hard to follow until someone is put in a wall break combo. It's interesting that you prefer how guilty gear handles things in comparison. Maybe that means it comes with time and familiarity. Four characters on the screen can definitely make things harder to follow, even though the moment to moment seems clearer to me personally.

I know it's probably just because of how long I've played each game, but I think so many things just "feel" better to me in GG. Like you mentioned with blocking bursts. Air movement in this game felt so awkwardly rigid for some reason but when I played Millia in GG everything felt incredibly smooth. Hitstop felt awkward, and a few others. I don't even play Strive much anymore so i'm not trying to glaze it, but everything about that game just felt smoother. That being said the idea of 2XKO and what the characters are allowed to do was great and duo's is the most fun I've had in a FG in years.

Since you brought up pushblock having input issues, I wanna bring up something else that people had issues with which also costs meter, and that's the supers. I think they need to replace the down + down input for supers with a S1 + S2 input, and there's good reasons why. 1) Down-down is way too common of an input (especially in a hectice game like this) to attach something laggy AND meter-costing to it. It's very ez to mess up something like plink dash stance on Yasuo and getting a lvl 1 to come out instead. 2) Doing your lvl 2 already requires pressing both special buttons. They could totally do something like making S1 + S2 one of your supers, forward/back S1 + S2 for your other lvl 1, and down S1 + S2 as your lvl 2. Making it so it's a "both specials" input would fix a lot of the accidental super problem as it's lot harder to accidentally fat finger two buttons like that when you're trying to stay mobile and use a special. On top of that, it stays more in line with their vision of "no motions needed" so there's benefits all around to reworking the super commands this way.

A tiny nitpick, but there were options in Training to keep Unbreakable on Braum and to have Bleed always on if you were Darius. I think it was under a tab in the pause menu called Character Specific Options? I can't remember completely, though. But honestly great video! I think you brought up a lot of good points, and I'm glad to hear some of the complaints I had echoed, as well.

i loved the game but one thing that really bothered me was that the wakeup timing feels weird to me, doing a meaty jab felt incredibly hard which is something I never struggled with on any other game. And what would usually happen is that I would whiff the jab and it would take forever for me to hit a medium or another jab, which ended up with me getting punished with a medium and there goes a character, the only thing that made me feel horrible but aside from that i could see myself playing this game for years.

Similar thing I loved during SFxT launch: queueing up with my buddy online w voice chat and playing duos, coming up with tag combos that worked for our characters, and of course the most important part: matching our colors and costumes! All to make our teams feel like “ours”. Good stuff! Glad someone took note that game was worth learning from imo!

It’s honestly kinda refreshing to see this level of, kinda want to say excited criticism with a mix of "what I like and look forward to" and a good bit of "dear god you can’t let X stay like this." All that wrapped up in what comes off like incredibly sincere, high but tempered expectations. Didn’t get the chance to play it myself, but I heard Broski and someone else(may have been JM but don’t quote me on that) share same of the same concerns. I know for sure he mentioned wanting save states, the weird inaccessibility of burst baiting, and also brought up some people’s frustrations with the menus and them feeling rather uncooked.

most of the VAs are fine other than darius who i really hate especially compared to league. i like ekko's VA in this game because of the lines like you said but also because the characterization is more in-line with in-game ekko so it's nice that they're trying to follow that instead of erasing him in favor of arcane ekko like in every other adaptation. in general though, the original league VAs are really, really good for all the characters and it's kind of disappointing that a lot of the 2xko voices sound like someone trying to copy the originals.

Yeah, the situation after hitting the assist or baiting a burst (specially on whiff, but also on block) were definitely the most confusing parts of the game. I also feel like Fuse autocombos from Mediums and Heavies could stand to be a bit better when meterless. Sometimes you have to start with 5M/5H for range, and I've seen new players intentionally spamming 5L instead because the others feel underwhelming.

I get the feeling characters falling out during happy birthday is intentional because the damage is high so potentially a duo, especially one with new players just mashing assist, could lose from one combo. The way it is rn the assist continues to be combo'd but they can regain life after being saved. Do I think they should still be blown up? Maybe, but it's worth noting they're probably trying to make it so that both players at least get to play. I think if I were new, just called one bad assist and I got smoked without being on screen it'd turn me away.

Loved the gameplay but one thing I wasn’t a fan of how the corner didn’t seem all that scary. People will give up the whole screen backing up and hitting someone in the corner didn’t do much more than hitting mid screen. It leads to a lot of time outs. It could be lack of knowledge on corner combos but idk.

My 2 cents: -Accidentally selecting Pulse while plowing through the customization options was a reoccurring issue, and I'd like for that to be addressed in some way. -On the topic of the Pulse fuse, give players an optional toggle to disable the effects of Pulse. That way, experienced players can play with new players without sabotaging their own controls. -Ahri should be streamlined a little to do shorter combos that do roughly the same damage. 10 hits for 30%, instead of 43 for the same amount, for example. It'll help curb Ahri player frustrations, but most importantly, it'll cut down on time spent in Ahri's pressure, which was definitely the worst part of playing the game. -Simple inputs certainly cause just as many problems as they solve, so it would be nice to have an option between traditional and simplified, or even a hybrid of the two, which could be cool. -I wish there was a less social-anxiety inducing way to queue for a duo match in SoloQ. I want to play duos, but my friend isn't always on. -Parry felt like it had basically no active frames, and sometimes didn't even give you plus frames when landing it, making it feel rather underwhelming. -This is a very personal thing, but I want neutral duck to avoid grabs. Neutral ducking to avoid certain moves and follow up with a punish is the most hype form of defense in fighting games. -Picking character themes. Or, at least, a way to disable Ahri's

So thinking about this and one thing i really want to talk about is the tag in that makes you feel bad cause you hit a player and they tag into a character on the other side of the screen now you get punished. I am not a versus player, I honestly have never been a fan of MvC. So I cannot compare how it feels and why it feels bad. (But I can follow the logic train and understand why it would) To me, it felt like an intentional design choice, and probably one centered around having teams. If I were to find a happy medium, I might consider either making this a feature locked behind playing 2's (it would further give incentive to play this way) or make it a fuse. (We could even discuss certain fuses being locked behind solo/team, but that may be too much.)

I thought a lot about pushblock and meterless defense, and I think I pinpointed my main problem. The reason I prefer the weaker but free pushblocks of other games is the flexibility and consistency. I think the backstep is meant to fill that role, but it's fundamentally less flexible and doesn't really cover the corner. I'm not a game designer, but there's gotta be something that can be done there. I can live with the mental stack of how overstuffed with mechanics this game is, but something about defense needs a little tuning.

i kinda hope that they decide to do something like increasing meter gain while the point has no/less than 1 bar instead of just giving one from roundstart, parry and pushblock feel quite strong so i think not having access to it and other metered options (like Ekko install, Darius dp > super and generally higher damage routing) immediately isn't a bad thing but it makes it easier to access stuff like parry/pushblock a little more frequently

I had a lot of issues with the games inputs, beyond no motions which I'm not a fan of I didn't like neutral assist being the launcher, felt like I'd try to do an assist while moving around get it all the time. Also didn't like some of the input overlaps like with Yasuo's 3[H] command normal and the launcher (why does the game need two launchers btw?) Overall my impressions weren't super positive, barely felt the desire to play it despite the limited time access.

Oh my God, I'm glad I'm not the only one who HATES the burst wall bounce. They really should fashion them to be more like Guilty Gear bursts where they just have landing recovery. This would also open up more creativity with punishing them. You can invul through the explosion with Ekko roll or armor through it with Braum shield. It'll provide more opportunities for out plays.

All those lobby features you mention I really hope they add. Basically a bunch of streamer-centric lobby features. Like if you see Max or Justin or Sajam playing on a cabinet, you're gonna wanna go queue on the cabinet to fight them, not the random schmuck they're already playing against. I remember watching Max play in the SF6 battle hub and if he lost a match, he just had to go to a new cabinet and everyone had to re-queue against him.

Timing her assist just right so the tentacles come out while Darius is hitting a hard knock down to then extend the combo more with the tentacles grab! Shit was pure, unadulterated, kino. I played Illaoi the most, both solo and in duos. The assists are good, I just wish the back assists would start from further behind the point as I got hit a lot trying to contests ahri / ekko assists - it's probably that their assists are too good. In neutral, I struggled a lot and ended up just swinging 6S1, I don't mind this, I think she is supposed to be slow and struggle against faster characters, it was just a bit boring in duos where we did not have the synergy to call assists properly. In solo, where I can patch her neutral with assists as I see fit, she feels a lot better. I explored a bit what she can do with tentacles down, it was so much fun and rewarding.

The input buffer feels way too short for me. Pressing A-B-C in a sequence for a simple combo often results in A-C which drops the combo. I have to awkwardly pause in order for my combos to work. My other issue is the super input. I really dislike it because it can be accidentally inputed when crouch blocking. Or when I want to wake up super, I kept getting wakeup attack because of the overlapping input

I don't have time to watch the video but I will give my feedback here Ahri S1 is a very easy to use but hard to deal with tool Pulse fuse L L L goes into a launcher which can mess up people whose friends are picking up pulse fuse, which is something the dev team have implied they want to avoid. Rapidly pressing L is a very common way to abare and hit confirm for even intermediate players, and the auto combo window is pretty large. This can also mess up intermediate players who want to use the auto combo fuse to learn new characters in matches rather than training mode. I really love the pulse system, I think it's hands down the best auto combo system but it could be better.

After a full week of being “Surprise 🦊”’d, I no longer was ever surprised. Playing against a single Darius Ahri who literally just sat back with DP + Surprise and did corner bleed pressure ruined the game for me. That team needs to have their kneecaps shot and arms amputated before I play against them again in their current state. Can’t pushblock, can’t retreating guard, ahri covers parry timing and everything TODs, even a DP. It was the least interaction I’ve ever had in a fighting game.

I really wish there were motion inputs in exchange for not having to use 2 whole buttons for special moves. My fightstick only has 8 buttons and there are a bunch of macros that I want to use, but can't because all the button slots are takent.

I know this is where i should put it, and it only happened to me once but i need to know if this happened to somebody else, i hit a timewinder as ekko and they appeared blue when they get put in that stun lock, and insta woke up, idk if its cause they hit the wall or if it was bugged but it happened

It's because 2XKO is a pretty dumb name for the game, so people try to call it anything else. I've also seen Texaco, 2 Chicos, Tio Chico, and Tchutchuco.

Me having a blue tooth keyboard should not interfere with my main controller. Steam should not interfere with my controller. Having two controllers plugged in should also not interfere with my controller 😂 there was so many things bugging out the controls

So before I even watch I'll just mention some things I think they need to fix. As I have no idea where and how to give feedback. I could not figure out how to actually play any online games. When you hit play or whatever it puts you in this tekken 8-esk lobby. I hit find game, it highlights different parts of the lobby but when I approaching anything I hit every flipping button and nothing would happen. Then the timer would just time out. I tried for a little over half an hour to play an online match and nothing would work. So I only had access to the tutorial and practice. And I only played for one evening because that got pretty boring fast. So my feedback is going to be make getting into a match much much much easier. Very important.

Genuinely no idea how you had issues, probably an issue with your controller or inputs. You pressed a bunny on to queue, run to the highlighted cabinet, then press A to join the cabinet. If that wasn't working, it seems more specific to you than the game as a whole

On the topic of fury, i EXTREMELY hated playing against fury as an illaoi player having to play around my own character's tools just because my opponent has fury active is extremely frustrating, I just feel like there's no way people should be able to do getup attack dash cancel on my tentacles. i literally had to choose to be a different character by just not summoning tentacles on my combos vs fury because there's no way to stop them doing it, i can't move the tentacle or do anything to remove it's hurtbox so the getup attack is entirely guaranteed and they can crouch cancel block immediately after dash cancelling. Most awful feeling i had all alpha.

I feel like the hitstop on the moves is dramatically slowing the game down, which is a reason why people might be saying combos are too long, I think the length is fine but why is Darius hitting me and I feel like I’m going in slow motion?

The one thing I'd like to see changed (besides the music, cos it's not exciting at all) is, I'd prefer the damage to be lowered and the games set to a single round like older versus games (I never played DBFZ or BBTag, so I don't know if they do the same thing). Matches feel really long, and combined with the old precedent, I found that it confused a my friends. Literally every time I played this game in Duos and my partner called last game, they would prematurely say "Alright cool, GGs" and I'd have to remind them we only won/lost one round. One of my poor friends prematurely called GGs twice, lol. I don't even think the damage needs to be lowered significantly; this is currently a 2-3 touch game on a single character, and making it a 3-4 touch game would probably do the trick.

I felt like normals were kinda shitty for controlling space. You either have slow long range poke normals or tiny fast jabs and not really anything in between to stop someone from dashing in your face on reaction. Led me to just jumping around whiffing air normals, hoping they walk into a counter hit

Also for real, maybe adding fury just as mechanic and not a fuse, but just bring the percent down from 40 to like idk 15 and keep the dash cancel imo, I could be wrong. that way they can make a new fuse?

If you dash with pressing forward, you won't accidentally get pushblock if you buffer it in blockstun.

My biggest complaint is that I wanna play this with friends who don't really play fighting games and would need the pulse fuse on, which is totally fine but i just wish i could just keep my controls and let them have the pulse controls.
