The hardest part of finding characters for 2XKO is not making the roster 90% toplaners. Most of those champs were designed specifically for brawling. Other roles need representation, but its gotta be hard to add champs like Jax, Sett, Irelia, Riven, Aatrox, etc, and still have roster space for nerds like Malzahar and Varus.

Most archetypes in league translate into fighting games as zoners, and with a roster full of zoners the game is not going to be particularly popular. I think the issue is how do you translate ranged characters without making them zoners. Also the roster is huge, if they plan to include even half of the roster I’m out, learning match-ups is going to be a nightmare.

Besides, there's a TON of characters not played toplane that can brawl. i think kayn is more ABA... like kayn starts off first round in his normal form,has to do stuff to gather meter for his transform (has to do kind of alot to gain said meter) then he has two seperate special moves that turn him into either red or blue kayn which locks him into that state for the whole game. makes sense for it to be like this cause its simmilar to leauge where u can lose the game as kayn before you even got your form lol.. is it good desgin, though? idk its unique for sure

@@levaniandgiorgi2358 this is mostly strive ABA, where you need to get resources first, but when you are in the install you don't have much risk(only of getting off install, witch doesn't happen with kayn), the thing about +r ABA, is that you can gamble and install whenever you want, but there's risk attached to it(losing life/suka animation and briar self taunt), also both characters lose life, witch can be regained, are an absolute burst damage menace, and are the crazy quirky girl archetype

Fiddle imo would be Faust n articune had a baby, his decoys act like the real one and do random attacks to scare you. Its interesting cuz it doesn’t do any dmg but In that moment you do not know if it’s the real one or not so ppl might waste key abilities on a decoy cuz of the “fear” aspect. Then his actual fear could either make the enemy start going crazy and seeing all kinds of shit then maybe his decoy can actually hit you now and he can get access to his ult and since his ultimate is basically adding a bunch of shit around him like a crow storm while still being able to freely move n use his abilities, they can tie it to being only used after being hit by fear since his ultimate in the game only really works if you can surprise the enemy which wouldn’t work in a fighting game since your always in your opponents face so fear would need to work differently

My most wanted character to see is Yuumi.. Not actually as a character, but as a mechanic. When you select her on the character select screen, what you're actually choosing is to solo-main the other character you pick. Yuumi stays attached to them and gives them a buffed healthbar and maybe heals their recoverable health with the swap button, and possibly she also has her own assist attacks as replacements for the crazy stuff you can do with swapping... But she can't actually switch in, and when you lose your primary character you lose the round.

Zed is the Akuma of league, undeniably edgy but not overdone (like Kayn or Kage), hopefully wont take long to see him. His ult in League is literally the "youre already dead" trope, and the mechanic of marking your opponent to do a delayed explosion based on the damage done during the mark hasnt been done in a fighting game I believe, it could open up avenues for very tense mix-up/defense moments

So for characters like Janna, I can imagine her being like mechanically hard to play as an assist character - requiring button holds and stuff while doing other inputs - because she'd mainly be designed as a support in a 2-player team (imagine you're teaching your friend how to play so you can pick Janna to do your fancy assist shit) and she'd cater more to that role if she made it in rather than be strong outright. I do feel there will be some characters designed with that 2-player team aspect in mind who give you some benefits for not playing solo and for helping people (based support role in a FG)

My boy Cho'Gath was undersold. He has potential to be a really interesting grappler. Feast could be a command grab that builds him up like Manon in SF6. Rupture could be a full screen neutral tool like Potemkin's slide head in GGST. You could maybe make primal scream into a move that helps him guarantee oki, by locking out abilities, like the ability to switch or use reversals or something. He could be very interesting.

I think most people dislike it when that's the "best" option but I feel like most people don't really care: Persona does a good job of balancing it actually since there's a meter bonus for autocombo but they're basically always lower damage by quite a bit. Just depends on the exact context imo

I see it as it rewarding button mashing. Many beginners tend to default to just mashing because they haven’t learned motion inputs or proper timing yet, and if that mashing results in a series of attacks that are even an ok combo, they’ll start spamming it when threatened because it’s a safe option that will generally always get them some damage instead of experimenting with other stuff their character does and learning/improving through experience

When poorly implemented, they make new players not learn the game and not improve. They may have a good time mashing and may win against other mashers, but they'll never get to experience the real reason why fighting games are good. It makes them less likely to learn actually good, stylish and satisfying combos, deincentives them from learning neutral and interactions, etc It just makes it so bad players stay bad. And don't get me started on when they are actually viable, because then the game takes no skill and becomes boring, dull and bad

Havent watched the video yet but from looking at the thumbnail, i think Sion would be a great big body character! His E could be a simple projectile with added properties, Q would be a slow but powerfull launcher and W could maybe give him a hit of armor on his next move or something like that. Even his R could be translated into a dash/charge super that travels across the screen, so his LoL kit would get pretty much full representation. Going more in depth, you could also involve his death passive, possibly letting him get a turn after dying where he gets off the ground with a draining healthbar like GGST Nago blood rage or Eliza's Skelton mode from Skullgirls! Even his W passive could be included as some kind of power up after killing a character and his bigass axe would make for some satisfiying attacks. Kinda hyped myself up while writing this but i'm pretty sure that would be a neat concept. Rito hit me up pls! xoxo

I think League has alot of potential for easy stance characters (as in easy to play, or pick up). Bevause alot of stance characters in league are seperated by ranged amd melee forms, I think that it could translate into something easy to understand for players who want to learn a stance champ but are intimidated by how many moves they generally have. I would be interested to see Kayn as aFG character. He could earn stacks for certain actions, similar to Jamie, or Manon, but specific actions edge you towards different transforms. I think playing im your face and getting aggressive giving you a transform giving you a move set similar to Vaseraga, while playing poke/semi zoning gives you a transform maybe closer to uhhhh Axel or Dahl I'm with long range normals would create interesting mid game dynamics.

One thing I really appreciate is the tiers werent marked with "Deserved" and "no one wants them." It comes up alot when people discuss rosters for anything but I always just boils down to "add the characters I like cause they're popular and dont add unpopular characters even if they'd be cool because I dont like them." Im pretty judgemental when it comes to FG rosters so I really appreciate the wording here.

Surprised to learn that Mordekaiser's Ult is the same as Feral Chaos' EX Burst in Dissidia Final Fantasy, except it's more meaningful here because it removes an enemy player from their team for an extended time while also putting them in the Own Zone. Would like to see that in another fighting game.

Kalista can actually be very fun. She has a spear whch has ofc melee moves but she can also shoot it and her passive where she bonds to an ally can make her interesting because this is a duo game. One of the ultimates could be throwing your ally in for big damage and they can start combos from there maybe

I'm not gonna pretend to be enthused about them in LoL but I'm surprised there's no enthusiasm for Janna and Lulu in a fighting game. Janna has pretty much the only oki in LoL as is, and turning her "I have walk speed until I throw this projectile at you" move into a fighting game move also creates interesting gameplay. Then she has burst for an ultimate. It sucks when she's just "press shield" in LoL but that's not gonna be what she does in a fighting game. Same with Lulu, she has Pix to set up mixups just like Zed does, and is one of the enchanters who will actually fight you (and this is from someone who bans her as ADC cos polymorph is so fucking annoying).

when the game was first announced zi remember hoping for like 2 specific champs to be in the game, but the more I think about it so so many champs have such good fighting game potential. I think I am gonna have at minimum 3 characters I love playing, which I am thankful for cause I usually don’t get into tag fighters since I have 1 character I like way more than the rest

I can't describe how excited I was to see an hour long 2KXO speculation video from you. But my best effort would be "very excited". I'm hoping for Trydamere, Rammus and Gragus personally. (Also I'm half way through editing my comment, I hope Nautilus makes it in, I just forgot about him). I think it'd be crazy if they didn't have every character that's in Arcane though

karthus and sion could really be interesting characters. Sion being so angry that he refuses to die and for the first maybe 10 seconds or so after dying he can fight alongside his partner. Karthus sees death as a good thing, so he sucks as a solo character, but he stays on the field permanently with an actual mana bar, and he can cast spells in the background whenever he wants to help his teammate. Idk, I like the idea of some characters being useful after death

Keep in mind udyr is a shamen beast mage who uses the traditional way of running hands; he is a mage but he uses his fist for spell casting and lets gods through his body to give him their powers to fight. And as a joke character they "could" add poppy or rumble for anyone to either lab with or just turn brain off and button mash.
