Whilst working as a bike salesman, I asked prospective first time buyers several questions; what do you intend to use it for? (commute/tour/leisure) and if single or with a passenger. Great advice Spunky 😉

My local dealership won't sell new riders anything over 600cc.

Made a huge mistake telling friends and family I’m getting a bike, and the shit they say is giving me anxiety and killing my vibes. It won’t stop me, but man a lot of humans are freaking absolutely terrified of motorcycles like Jesus Christ chill folks. I feel like they’re just ignorant and don’t understand physics. One person said how do you turn without falling lmfao.

also got alot of shit buying my first bike last year... "you have 2 kids, why on earth would u ride a bike?" It's like they assume u'll die...

Daniel thanks a lot man I appreciate it. Yeah I was doing the car thing for a while but I just feel like when your modifying cars, theu just take aaallll your money, and plus you have nothing but tuning issues. It's a big waste. Bikes are simple, and good as is. Also wtf sounds better than a bike I mean cmon bro.... i can buy a bad ass bike brand new off the lot for 11,000$. I'll never be a slave to a car ever again.

I ride. In my experience, everything my friends and family said about me getting a motorcycle was 100% correct. About 90% of people who buy motorcycles. Most motorcyclists are wreckless trick driven adrenaline junkies who carelessly speed. And those people absolutely end up in a ditch eventually. Not if, but when. If you take your safety courses, prioritize your low speed maneuvers and defensive driving, dont speed, dont drink and drive, and maintain your license and inspections... youre LIKELY to go decades without a single incident. And those incidents are almost always something you can get back on two wheels in the time it takes you to get a new bike. If youre planning on doing wheelies or speeding because "why wouldnt you have fun on a motorcycle", then your family is right and you should write a will, clean your room, and erase your browser history.

Marcush you ride a yamaha cruiser don't you? 😄 people who rip aren't all going to end up in a ditch. It's your type of energy that's giving me anxiety lmao. I'm doing a wheelie bro! And imma rev bang Dat hoe off da 16,000 rpm son.

Just got into "Sport Bikes" had a KLX Supermoto as my trainer. thought I was good to rock on a GSXR 600. Checked it out and it was trash. Ended up finding a basically brand new Ninja 400 for cheaper. It honestly has plenty of power I know most people think they are speed demons (trust me I'm right there with you) but it will humble you so quick. Glad im still training on this bike! so much to learn.

Ninja 400 is an awesome starter sportbike, just be careful if you get on the highway, the wind can blow it around a lot.

My first bike was a Husqy FC250. Had that for like 2 mo this before scooping up a Rockstar 450. Just got my first sport bike. A ZX10. Can't wait to get back out.

I bought a GSXR-600 from 2008. It was mainly your videos that inspired me to have interest in sportbikes and eventually get that bike. Its not even my first bike but my first road vehicle. Yes that was a crazy choice lol.

I started on a ninja 650. After about 300 miles when you’re feeling one with it, you start wanting to see how big you can go.
@lukegader52115 күн бұрын
After 300 miles is crazy. I put on 4k miles this summer on my ninja 650 and still want to wait another summer or two to upgrade to a 600. Trying to be as safe and sensible as possible.

You should a video on having a gsxr 750 in the garage for like a few years and what you check before using it to have as safe as possible ride (which I know it's still high risk no matter what)

Started on a Grom, went to a 600 then to a 1000. Had a few Groms/600s after that and IMO a 600 is a great all around bike but not for a beginner, one of my good friends had a bad accident 2 weeks into taking up riding.

Here is some extra advice: do not let the seller charge you for mods. Most every mod like exhausts, tunes, or any other customization does not raise the value of the bike. I've met sellers upcharge to try and get back some of the money they've put in.

Hey, I am the guy that bought a gixxer that needed a lot of maintenance. Where I am from being a human being and not taking advantage of someone who is not very mechanically inclined does not exist and no one wants to help. Would it be too much to ask if it’s possible to send you a question anywhere in dm, email or whatever? I have a k7 750 and I really want to drive it but I have a concern that I could really use advice on. Thank you in advance.🙏

Basically, DONT BUY A CLAPPED OUT BIKE UNLESS YOU PLAN ON IMMEDIATELY SELLING IT AFTER YOU LEARN!!! Don’t buy a bike that’s been modified, crashed (no dents, period.), or has signs of neglected service. As a noob you’ll have no idea what to look for and end up buying something with hidden problems (me)

Hey bro. Bout to buy my first bike from a young kid. 24 zx6r with 780 miles. The only cosmetic damage I can find is minor scraping on a frame slider and on the metal guard over the clutch cover. He swear he didn’t drop it but it just “scraped something.” Is that possible?? I watch a video of yours from a couple years ago and from your description, it’s been dropped

I went to a dealership and they told me my ninja 500r would only need an oil change, it was my 2nd bike within a week, 3k later I finally got it perfect. The dealership lied and sold me a bike with leaking forks,no brakes, no fluids, carbs was dirty, rotors needed to be done and the tires was shot. Mind you the dealer knew it was basically my 1st bike and told me I only needed an oil change
@happyrobot63965 күн бұрын
That’s your fault man. No fluids??? Take them to court lol

What is your opinion on ABS for a new rider?
@SpunkyBoyy5 күн бұрын
I think it’s a great feature for a new riders. It can help u from making the dreadful mistake of locking up the brakes.

@ I want to start on a GSXR 600 (I have driven cars for 10 years) but no ABS is a deal breaker. Lots of older 600s don't have it unfortunately

Spunky I'm going crazy over the new R9 (red & white one) please HALP! here's the ugly part : I've never actually owned a motorbike before (shhh!! 🤫) any thoughts? do you think it's a bad idea to invest and learn on something like that? 😕(after having my license and completing the MSF course that is)
@Steven-oc4ds6 күн бұрын
Personally, i think if you have never owned a bike before or ridden, you should start on something much much smaller!!!! Less power... however more so best thing to get some training, before going on the street. And when you are on the street. Be careful. Assume every car on the road is out to run you over, take your line. Or straight-up trying to hit you. Not trying to scare you. Just get you to respect the roaad.
@kevin61086 күн бұрын
R9 is too much for a beginner, don't do it brother, you're gonna get hurt 🙏
@anon91466 күн бұрын
It's your decision, my friend. If you can afford it, then go ahead and buy it. Your safety depends on your self-control and awareness of your limits even a powerful bike can be ridden safely if you're responsible, but recklessness can lead to accidents regardless of engine size. Ultimately, it's your choice. If you can afford the bike and ride responsibly, then do it; don't let others discourage you. You only live once, and you might regret not buying that R9 someday.
@sebba2top5 күн бұрын
Safety is important and the main argument used here. But it’s not the only one and not the one that speaks to me. Buying an R9 for a beginner is like buying top of the line running shoes for a toddler that is about to learn to walk. It’s a complete waste of money. By the time you would have “grown into it” it would be worn down and not worth the same. There might even be a newer cooler model out by then. Everything also take longer to learn on a bike like this, despite what you would think. So it is a waste of time as well. Unless owning this bike is a self fulfilling goal for you, it is just a bad decision.

The dealer gets paid to do recalls from the mfr... they dont do it for free.

Maybe if we didnt need 900 credit score and downpayment of at least 3000 for a fcking 600cc. Then we wouldnt buy it used on marketplace
@deedle60736 күн бұрын
You only need a 750-760 credit score to get the best rates.
