I LOVE how Marc stated that about the spares. It seriously relaxes me to have a backup plan. Marc I totally do the same thing. I always pick up the accent of the person I am talking with in that moment. One time I went to the south to visit a friend for a week and came home with an accent that didn't leave for another week. Oh man! That market!!!! Canadian produce! Yum! I am dying at Marc's discoveries on this trip! hahaha Love how Tori adores your cooking Trish!

I wish I could have spoken to you before you visited Quebec, then again, I only found your videos about two months ago. There's little must knows: like the whole province of Quebec uses military time (15:55 is also 03:55pm, as you and others sometime find out the hard way), you also can't make a right turn on a red light on the island of Montreal... yup, Montreal is on an island. You MUST rrrrrooooollllllllll your Rs when speaking French (ex.: Mont rrrrrrré al). And "Ta Gueule" means you are wrong in French. No, it actually means shut-up, but say it with a smile and it'll pass for you are wrong (lol). From Moncton New Brunswick, Canada, thank you for living my daydream, happy travels.
@paulfisher46606 жыл бұрын
One thing I've learned from reading RV groups is that you never drive off the lot with the original "Display" tires. they are only on the rig so that they don't have to buy axle stands. everyone on full-time-families said they only got a few hundred miles out of them before they had to buy new ones. i think you got much more mileage out of them.

As a french Canadian (from Ontario) I never realized Shepard's Pie wasn't an "everywhere" thing. lol Best and easiest is: -cook ground beef (layer in Pyrex pan -layer cream corn over that -boil potatoes (mash and layer on top) preheat oven to 425. Bake until potatoes are browned. Enjoy! Looking forward to your new videos as always!

I have a tip for you and flat tires...I would highly recommend buying some impact sockets and a cordless impact. My wife got me a porter cable...came with a drill and impact....and a charger and two batteries all in a nice carry case. You have to buy an adapter so impact sockets fit on cordless impact. Once you loosen off your wheel nuts a bit, just use your impact....so much faster and less sweat. I would also recommend buying a torque wrench so you can torque wheel nuts to correct torque...you have to look it up....will be in ft.lbs or newton metres. BTW..my wife is a french Canadian girl and loves poutine ...i hate the stuff.

How interesting, I recently discovered your channel. When I found that you went to Montreal, I had to find the video about it. Well, you guessed it, I am from Montréal. And yes, in french, we don't pronounce the T in Montréal. But when you try to make that french accent, sorry, you sound like when I try to make an indian accent or when I fake a french accent... I don't think we sound France's French Accent in Montréal!! lol. About the shepherd pie, in Québec known as Paté Chinois, which roughly translated would be Chinese Pate. Why is call like this, I have no idea.... probably for the same reason on my grandmother's recipes the soy sauce is called Chinese sauce... And yes, in Quebec we use the 24h time... and meters, and speed in Kilometers. But funny enough, if you tell me your weight and height in kilo and centimetre, I have no idea. But I know in pounds and feet... I guess that is what happens when you were kids when the country switched to metric. I was really cool to see in my previous city (I know, I am now in Ottawa and preparing to retire someday in Nova Scotia, by the sea). If you ever come back east, Gros Morne Park in Newfoundland and Labrador is really nice. Gros Morne from old french that means big mount. The hike that goes on top of gros morne is 800meter in altitude. Bring a lot of water.... Other suggestion, take the night ferry and rent a cabin. Keep it on guys, I am learning a lot from you and some other channels. We can't wait to start RV and have the window openning...

Great video on "Montreal". Y'all had me laughing on the pronunciation of Montreal, it's pronounced ( Mun-tree-all). After watching your video, my husband and I have decided it's necessary to have 2 spare on the back bumper instead of one. On your Michigan video you talked about purchasing several items. We went ahead and purchased the same lights you purchased. They'll be very handy for the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. We are first time RV owners therefore, we will be watching plenty of videos to make sure were prepared before taking our trailer out. Glad to see Montreal government worked with you regarding your parking ticket. Hugs to your family. Sandy and Jay Livesay
@KeepYourDaydream8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sandy. Great comments. I agree with you about the correct way to say Mun-tree-all, but all the French said Mon-re-all. No T. They also speak French! :) If it wasn't for my editing to shorten the videos length... I would have said it 50 more time! You're going to love those lights! Couldn't live without them now. Still looking for better ways to mount the magnet to the wood. It has come off several times.

At 12:06 you would say "Vous avez tort" finally got rid of those lame tires and running E loads. Yes, G load ratings are great but like you said they are 16". I use LT tires on my trailer and I can usually get 70k miles out of them before the rear tires are worn out on the outside tread from all of the tight turning. Stock tires that came with my trailer were good for about 10k miles. Did you go to New Orleans at the 14:00 mark? Lol

OK funny story on the same lines as picking up the accent when talking. My father was a firefighter and he happened to have a studder. One night, he was working the front desk, and a tourist came in to ask directions, and so my father greeted him (with a studder) to which, the man asked for directions, with a studder. My dad responded "are you making fun of me", and the guy responded "no, I studder too!" They both laughed :)

As always enjoyed your adventure in the Island on the Saint Lawrence and La Belle province. It's a very distinct culture which I appreciate even as a WASP. The interesting thing is that many people see English Canada as being the same as the USA the differences are deeper and less obvious. On to tires, I had a conversation about ST vs LT and a person disagreed. He mentioned that trailer tires experience hmmmm more torsion than normal truck tires. Like turning in place with less forward or more yawl than thrust speak. The tires are built with this in mind and less prone to dry rot. He could not answer my question about how ST's habit of catastrophic failure. This type of failure could also be because they carry so much weight for such a little tire. Smaller tires intrude less into cabin space and are cheaper I guess. The latter is probably the overriding factor for the manufactures I would assume.
@KeepYourDaydream8 жыл бұрын
Interesting points. The conclusion I've reached is ST is the way the go... but must have have the right rating and load capacity for the trailer. In my case, E rated 10 ply has been fine. Not a single failure on the new tires. LT tires don't have the extra side wall for the load. Ginger is 9,200 and my truck is only 6,000. I agree with you about the tire size. Our next trailer (likely a 5er) will have at least 16" wheels if not bigger.

Dang, you make me want to go check what tires I'm running. Though I did get them at Camping World, rather than a supplier who typically deals mostly in autos, so maybe I'm safe. Funny story about that, though. The guy thought he knew better than me what size tires I needed on DoJ. When I began to pull out I could hear this grinding and stopped to see what it was (naturally). He had reduced the size and, with "J" hooks so low to the ground, they were actually just scraping and sparking along the pavement. Had to go right back in and have him put on the size I originally requested.

I have heard that before, which is why I didn't mount the bikes to the bumper, but I've heard the issue was shaking or bouncing on the bumper. The extra tire is mounted firm, but your comment is a good reminder to check the welds. Thanks.

True, the leverage of a bouncing bike rack would be much worse.

On our list, but not this trip. Not sure how driving up the west coast will go or how far we'll go. Thx for the comment.

Truly awesome guys, beautiful city! How much was the parking citation ? Since I'm in Law Enforcement I'm just curious. Thanks again for sharing !
@KeepYourDaydream8 жыл бұрын
I think it was around $50, but I didn't want to take any chances of it turning into much more by missing the mail, etc. So it made sense to handle it in person quickly. I should know soon if it was dismissed. We'll see. Trish is much better at handling the stuff that involves directions!

So sorry about the ticket such a bummer. The bells were awesome. When traveling how do you keep fridge cold? With the gas or batteries
@KeepYourDaydream8 жыл бұрын
Thanks. The fridge is set to auto, which means when it's not hooked-up to power, it runs of propane. Works great. Always cold.

Shepherd's Pie - we found a recipe in "Paleo Cooking from Elana's Pantry" that we love - instead of potatoes, it uses cauliflower "mashed potatoes" - basically boil cauliflower, then blend til smooth - being healthy eaters, you may like it as well, & cauliflower might be easier to prepare in an RV than potatoes. Tires (& falling light fixtures) - I hope your trailer manufacturer is watching & noting the crummy construction & products used, because your viewers are...

Trish has done that. I think she even did the cauliflower potatoes in Montreal. We're correcting some pretty major oversights by the manufacturer here in Mexico right now. I have a feeling PCW will end up seeing the videos. A missing center pin is no small oversight. We're also correcting the end cap being secured to the rig. Such crappy work. Oh well, glad we're getting it fixed.

How far down East are you guys coming ,just curious as I am in New Brunswick #northern New Brunswick , aka atlantic canada , in Campbellton nb .Love to meet you's all .Thanks for the video .Be safe . Reg
@KeepYourDaydream8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Reg. The Canada route was kinda last minute and we didn't know how much we would love it. We ended up taking a Vermont route to Maine and note Quebec (which we should have done). The vlog releases weekly and our travel is much faster, so we're already in D.C! We love meeting people. That would have been fun.

A quick review of the KOA in Montreal? Old Quebec is a city that feels like you're in Europe....
@KeepYourDaydream8 жыл бұрын
We didn't get much footage of this KOA. It was more of a typical RV park without much going on. WIFI wasn't very good, so I had to upload a video from the office or laundry room. In regards to Quebec, I'm kinda sorry we didn't take that route to Maine. We went through Vermont, but Quebec would have been far better!

I can not stop laughing out loud all by myself in my living room and the kids and wife are wondering what I'm laughing at. Also get a battery drill to make those tire changes go faster.

Hmmmm, you could not find a Canadian Tire between Toronto and Montréal??? How VERY strange, I can thing of at least five and I'm from that area.🤨 Anyways, carry on RVing!!!

The next time you get tires go to a 16in LT FOR LIGHT TRUCKS
@KeepYourDaydream8 жыл бұрын
I would like to. But 4 new rims is pricey. The new E Range Load tires haven't had any problems. Each flat is the original tires. So we *should* be okay now. But if we ever buy a 5th wheel... I would do many things differently!
