If you see a classic GMC Motorhome give it a honk, if its named Bullitt honk twice because its us, if you can get back to Ontario you have to go to the Muskokas, Ontario has hundreds of thousands of lakes( not kidding) so fishing and boating in cottage country is the best. Of boating is something you like than we also have a canal system from Kingston up to Superior. Take care and love your videos

Thanks John! I did my best to illustrate how panicked I was With both our wallets in the bpack and my phone... it would have been quite an ordeal to get everything sorted out. Part of the reason my mind went black (in hind sight) is because I never put the backpack on the first place. Its like the last 20 min of my life was missing from my memory. Crazy. Good lesson.

New subscriber. Great channel. This episode reminded me of are 10 year anniversary 8-9 years ago. My top 2 tips would be...1. The Maid of the Mist boat tour too the base of the falls, was par with seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time. 2. All you can eat buffet at the casinos. We joined as new members which was free, and were given free meals and lots of other benefits.

I got so inspired by a class C motorhome traveler with an Arizona license plate in Jumeirah beach, Dubai boondocking on front of my house with many of places he visited during his world trip (Oval City Stickers) around the world. I wanted to invite him next day but he was already left and i wish if can meet him. And you'll inspired me too with this trip that i had been watching on youtube, and i would love to have the same adventure you all having for this Summer (Fall). I just got my first travel trailer and i'm so glad i had it, i been few times to flagstaff and next weekend probably to Show Low. In Fall break i'll start with Yellowstone National Park. I like it when you say recently you don't have plans even for sleeping tonight, that's sounds like me ... lol, I would love to meet you guys when you're coming back to Arizona i'm so excited on this. have a nice trip and enjoy

One thing you forgot, your gallon is smaller than ours, we have imperial and are a little larger. We have a classic GMC Eleganza 2 that's been all across Canada and we were caught wondering why we were getting almost 20% better miles per gallon compared to our american friends - so much for thinking its down to my pro driving style. Love your videos, we have added a GoPro for our trip to Vancouver so we don't miss anything

My family went on a 30 day road/camping trip when I was about 15 (1995ish). It was the first trip that I remember that we generally didn't have any specific plans day to day other than in 3 days we need to be in Flagstaff, AZ, if 4 more days we need to be in Las Vegas, NV, etc... We meet so many good people, both locals and other travelers. Just like you, we found that we had the most fun doing things that weren't really planned ahead of time, but by doing things that were suggested by the people we met at each campground we stayed at. My wife and I are planning on buying our first travel trailer after the first of the year and plan to start traveling like I did when I was a kid. I've really enjoyed your videos. Travel safe.

Thanks James. I'll end up making a video about buying an RV. There are many things I wish I would have known and I don't know why it's so hard to find people willing to share the details. I'm sure it's my OCD and paying attention to the details. I would definitely do things differently. At the same time, we believe in going NOW with what we have instead of LATER with what we want. Good to hear about your trip. Flagstaff/Vegas... are you front PHX?
@jtemple42

I'm from Granger, IN. Its just east of South Bend, IN. When we went on our trip we went out through the south (St Louis, MO to Amarillo, TX then straight west until we hit Los Angeles. That was our turn around point. From Los Angeles we went to Las Vegas, then Salt Lake city, Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore and then back home. We got every state west of the Mississippi River except Washington, Oregon and Colorado. It was the best vacation I've ever been on and an awesome family bonding experience. We've been looking at trailers for a while now. I think we've settled on a Bullet Primier 34 BHPR. It's a lot of trailer, but I've been camping and pulling them since I was 16 so I think we'll be just fine. I will keep my eyes open for the rv buying guide video. I know what my family looks for, but it will be interesting to see your prospective.
@KeepYourDaydream
@KeepYourDaydream 8 жыл бұрын
Wow, you covered a lot of ground. Bullet Premier 34 BHPR Looks like a nice trailer. I don't see slide toppers, which I wish we had (seems to rain a lot!). I saw nice upgrades on the Jayco Travel Trailer Bunk Houses. We opted not for the outside Kitchen, but if you don't have to sacrifice a second door to the outside or bathroom, it was nice... but not as nice as second door. I bought ours with the exceptions of selling it. If I would do it again, I would have bought a 37' 5th wheel and never sell it. Once the upgrades are complete... they're so cheep to own. The fuel cost of half ton trucks isn't great. Diesels are getting 14-15 pulling big rigs.
@jtemple42
@jtemple42 8 жыл бұрын
Yes, slide toppers are a must. The outside kitchen and the large bunkhouse are more appealing to us right now than the second door. We have 12 year old twins and want to be able to take their friends with us to some of the local state parks and all the extra room will be nice. We figure we have just a few short years to get out and show the kids the country. Then we will upgrade to a different floor plan. 5th wheels are nice, but they need such a big truck to pull them, not to mention that we just purchased a F150 just a few months ago. I'm hoping my truck gets 7-8 mpg or better when we start pulling. My dads F250 diesel gets 10-12 mpg pulling his 40' 5er, however, there is no lack of power.

A real pity you you didn't take time to see Canada's capital, Ottawa. (It is 5 hours from Toronto and only 2 hours from Montreal.) Our friends from California and Texas loved it. If you ever get back, don't miss Ottawa and its' wonderful bike paths, the changing of the guard and savoring our famous snack, beavertails. They are real unlike that maple syrup scent on the $5s. PS, we love our winters in the US when there is no pandemic in progress.

Great video. But I gotta add being I'am from here you missed alot. In Niagara falls? The elevator down would have brought you behind the falls (not just at ground level to them) also there's a very spooky cave that you could have visited while outside at ground level. The CN tower in Toronto in 1995, the CN Tower was classified as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. The CN Tower shares this designation with the Itaipu Dam on the Brazil/Paraguay border, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the Panama Canal, the Chunnel under the English Channel, the North Sea Protection Works off the European coast, and the Empire State Building. Also you could have filmed your country USA over the lake. And the edge walk at the CN Tower would have been the most explosive footage to date you have. Umm did I mention we have a real castle in the city hehehe "Casa Loma"....And on that note! It's unfortunate I did not know about this channel sooner because you would have had free room and board, had I known you were comming (You seem like real nice folks)......Have a nice day I subbed :-)

I saw the backpack incident and was immediately transported back to the Vegas strip where I left my computer backpack, also containing my wallet and passport, in a Starbucks under the counter. I must have left it for more than 10 minutes and sprinted back through the crowds in abject horror. Luckily, despite the crowds, no one had bothered to sit at the counter where I had been, and my backpack was visible through the glass to the whole of the strip. Yet no one took it. I've been much more careful since then

Trz Charlie I'll check it out. Good luck out there! Always fun to see the options. I'm sure you know, trailers are marked-up that cars back in the day (before the internet). I think we ended up 5k under sticker and I still think if I would have walked... they would have called back! :)

HAH! I'm watching the most current episode!! * victory dance * Oh, and WHAT FUN! Once again, lovin' life as Ms. Flyonthewall as I take part in your excursions. :) Crossing the border--that's always interesting, isn't it?! I've been up to Canada via Vancouver twice, so with going into Canada via Toronto, you guys are doing something I'm been looking forward to. It really is so easy to travel to Canada or Mexico, and can be a real PITA going overseas...it just takes so long, you know? And I don't know...don't you feel like you're being scrutinized as if you are a criminal? That's what I don't like! The money in Canada is just so cool, but it seems like money used in a game with all the colors and transparent bits in the bills and the two-toned metal in the coins. I really wish US money was the same, personally. Your comments about paying attention to the big picture and not the destination really is so very important. I can't agree with you more. A few weeks ago, Steve and I went on a 1-day motorcycle ride into the Umpqua National Forest to visit the waterfalls along the way, and I kid you not, it was like getting into line at Disneyland whenever we stopped. I was shuffling along the trails amid the unbelievable herds of people and mooing quietly to myself. Standing in line to get a view of the waterfalls was completely, utterly (udderly?) RIDICULOUS! After the second one (there are at least 7 lovely waterfalls along this highway, very remarkable!), Steve and I gave up and just rode the motorcycle. What happened was that we immediately returned to feeling elated and full of joy because the motorcycle ride was so incredible and it was the reason we'd gone in the first place. Seeing the pictures of "what you expected" vs the reality of Niagara Falls doesn't surprise me one bit. The problem is that (and I am sure you know this) if people can DRIVE there, the destination will be laughably choked with people. If there is the LEAST amount of effort required, you will leave the throngs behind, for the most part anyway. Yosemite is a perfect example: the valley floor is like Niagra Falls. Laugh-Out-Loud ridiculous. But one year Steve and I climbed to the top of Half Dome. There WAS a line of people going up to the top, but it was REASONABLE. And when we got up there, everyone spread out and we all were at peace in this incredible spot, AND we were all initiates in a special sort of club because not that many people have been so lucky as to climb to the top of Half Dome. It's a shame though, that it was such a nightmare at Niagara Falls, but it looks like you made the most of it. LOVED the tips and tricks on Niagara Falls!! I also didn't know there were so many things to do other than look out at the Falls, I'll certainly keep in mind what you two have imparted whenever Steve and I make it up there. :) LOL Caleb, "Did you just say "You want to EAT Toronto?!" * high five's Caleb and rolls around giggling with him * Oh MOM you can't EAT TORONTO!!! Well, ok, maybe you can but it might be a bit crunchy. :D :D (lol, I know what you meant but it's much more fun misunderstanding you intentionally!) :D LOVED the footage of Toronto, it's so beautiful!!! Such a green city, and I love all of the architecture! * swoon * I do adore taking pictures of buildings--abstracts are awesome too!! O M G....the footage of you racing back to the RV and totally freaking because you forgot your backpack... OH MARC, TRISH...WHAT A HORRIBLE, AWFUL SITUATION!!!!! Terrified the whole way back, trying not to get into an accident while going as fast as you can go...AND THERE IT WAS. NOT STOLEN. WOW...the luck. Well, I think there was probably someone up high there looking over that backpack -- I like to think that spirit guides step in sometimes when these things happen -- whatever your beliefs, the fact that your backpack was STILL THERE just STUNS ME!!! I'm so happy for all of you. What a GOOD LESSON to learn for yourselves AND to pass on to all of US. I am shaking just thinking about the ramifications, had your backpack been stolen. I can't even think about it. THANK GOODNESS it all turned out ok. * big hugs all around * (BTW, Marc...I have to point out the FANTASTIC editing you did on that video footage. In fact, I watched it twice because I love to see excellently edited film work! :) Your editing was TOP NOTCH, and totally conveyed how you felt, and the B/W touch really put it into a gritty, frightening perspective that was needed. A+++ job!!! * high five *) Again, more incredible footage...what a gorgeous town!! You guys obviously had a wonderful time! ENVY, thy name is JANET! Actually, envy isn't a nice word...I do look forward to visiting though, and I appreciate the video, I didn't know what Toronto was like, and now I really want to see it more than ever!!! You guys are sushi hounds too?! NOM NOM NOM, my favorite food!! Loved what you had to say about mode of travel. Yep, you are completely right. I love walking but it's just too slow. Via car, you miss way too much. Motorcycles are much, MUCH better, but still, when it comes to a CITY...bicycle ALL THE WAY! We will definitely be doing this when we go on our trip, it's the way to go! :) (And a natural way to get exercise too, WNTL!!) (What's Not To Love) Do you know how cool it is to listen to you two talking about making plans in advance, and slowly eating away at the time you have to make those plans, and then to realize that when you don't have time to plan at all...it can be the very best of all. I just love it! Not knowing the abc's of BIG plans is still a bit freaky to me. However, you guys and I have learned from the folks you've interviewed and from allllll the sources online...that living a serendipitous life is very rich and fulfilling and reaps the best rewards if you're brave enough to throw chance to the wind. To see you two connecting the dots together, on video...it is a great moment to share with you. :) When Steve and I went on our 5-day trip in June, the three of us (our friend Andy was with us too) we set up our hotels, and we had a couple of items on our list that we hoped to do/see, but that was it, and our trip was fantastic! Too many plans makes for a dull outcome! What an episode. Thought-provoking, full of lessons, and there was even sushi. My life is complete. :D Terrific job, once again!!!

I started watching your videos with season 6 and then decided to go back and start watching from season 1. I love you guys and Caleb cracks me up. I'll start laughing and my husband thinks I'm going crazy or something. So glad when Marc rushed back to the truck and trailer, that his backpack was still there and it's contents. He was so lucky! I can't wait to see how the rest of the journey goes. Anyway, I see in this video you have a Canadian road atlas. May I ask which atlas it is?

Toronto is the most bike friendly city my wife and I have ever been to. We even biked Niagara Falls but just a warning, when riding north along the river, do not go past the last bus stop and down Suicide Hill. If you do, go to a wonderful ice cream shop at the bottom of the hill but get a good rest because Suicide Hill is a BITCH on a bike. Made it to the top in 1st gear only. BTW, I am 6’2” and 350lbs plus. At the top of the hill is a bus stop and Niagara Falls buses are bike friendly. Toronto is back on our list for another visit with bikes only. Thanks for the video!!

Did you all have any type of cooling system in the trailer for maddie when you were parked with the trailer in the road? We booked across country in 6 weeks and back, so we did a lot of "park n see". It was June and July and unless we were at a park we had no way to cool the dogs and cat. Mount Rushmore for instance, we had to walk fast snap some picks, grab a souvenir and get back on the road. We loaded the pets in the trailer while we were sight seeing and it didn't take long for it to heat up in there.

The time of year is everything. It was cool enough most everywhere we went. When we were in Rushmore, we were at a KOA and hooked-up with electric. The 4 season trailer really helps too. It's always been very cool when we come back. Unfortunately, Maddie is no longer with us, but we miss her dearly.

Keep Your Daydream So sorry to hear about Maddie. :(. Pets are family. Unfortunately the only time to travel last year was in hot months. I'm thinking I'll hook up an inverter so I can run a cooler for our next travels. Thanks for your input.

Yes, I've learned that anything that can be seen by car... is nothing but mass tourists. Havasu Fall in the Grand Canyon and Yosemite Falls have a significant barrier to entry. And as a result... fewer people.

Hey Guys, Glad to see you make it to Canada and are having a blast. I'm also happy to hear you were able to find your backpack exactly where you left it. I have a question for you. We just purchased our travel trailer and wanted to know how your new tire sensors are working. When I checked on Amazon for the same sensors the write up indicated not to use them on an RV. I like the price, and if they are working great for you I would rather go the same route you did with purchasing sensors. Thanks, Sandy Livesay
@KeepYourDaydream
@KeepYourDaydream 8 жыл бұрын
Hey there Sandy. Thanks for the comment. Yes, the TPMS has some issues - most of the time one or two tires are not indicating the PSI. Overtime they all indicate. I didn't see that they were not for trailers when I bought them and a couple of the comments said they worked fine for their trailers. But I guess I should update the video so I don't promote anymore. Bummer.
@sandyoklahomatransient8557
@sandyoklahomatransient8557 8 жыл бұрын
Thank you for responding so quickly. I didn't mean to burst your bubble on the sensor. If they're working for you stick with them. I worry because our trailer is 38 feet with 2 axles.......meaning more distance and weight. I think probably better off going with a monitoring system with a repeater. I'm going to have to eat the additional expense. My husband and I have been tracking your travel and watching every one of your video. We can't wait to get out on the road and take the trailer on the first local trip to shake it down. Happy trails to you and yours. Sandy
@KeepYourDaydream
@KeepYourDaydream 8 жыл бұрын
Sandy Oklahomatransient No problem! You're not the first to mention so I thought I would take another look. I re-read the product desc. on Amazon. It says they can be used for RV & Trailers, but not long bodies (it wasn't written very clear). I read a comment that someone said they worked great for his 28' foot trailer, but that might have been overall. I'm 28, but with super crew truck, 3' tongue and double axle trailer, I'm likely too long which is why there is inconsistency in the indicator. If I left the DC monitor in the whole time it would probably be fine, but we unplug it all the time to charge other things. I'm sure that doesn't help. I'm going to see if I can upgrade. It is helpful to know the Tire Pressure without having to check all the time.
