Welcome to our Japan Diaries (Episode 3) - which marks days 4-6 of our time in Japan. In this Travel Vlog, we wanna bring you guys along with us to Tobu Nikko. Literally a journey through serene temples, majestic waterfalls, a mesmerising lake and Tobu World Square, which was a lot of fun.
This travel vlog is for our family and friends who want to keep up to date with our 5.5 week trip in Japan, and for any fellow travellers who love the idea of exploring Japan anytime soon! I hope this video gives you travel tips and ideas for things to do when visiting Tobu Nikko, which is around 2 hours by bullet train from Tokyo. Especially if you're visiting Japan for the first time :)
Welcome to Tobu Nikko, a hidden gem nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Japan. We want you guys to come with us on our little adventure as we explore the best that Tobu Nikko has to offer. From the tranquil shores of Lake Chuzenji to the awe-inspiring waterfalls and the mind-boggling Tobu World Square, we'll take you on a journey that will leave you in awe. So, whether you're a seasoned globetrotter or someone dreaming of their first Japan trip, this video is for you! Let's dive right in.
In this video, we share some serious jaw-dropping moments as we head to Tobu Nikko's majestic waterfalls: i.e. the famous Kegon Falls. Imagine a colossal waterfall plummeting from a staggering 97 meters. It's a true spectacle, my friends! We'll spill the beans on the best spots to capture that Instagram-worthy shot and guide you to the observation deck for mind-blowing views. Next up, the enchanting Ryuzu Falls. These beauties resemble a dragon's head and tail and are tucked away in a mystical forest. Trust me, the atmosphere here is pure tranquility. We'll take you on a journey along the trails, where you can soak in the soothing sounds of nature and marvel at the falls from every angle.
We had to make a stop at the captivating Lake Chuzenji after chasing Kegon and Ryuzu Falls. Picture this: a serene oasis nestled amidst the mountains. It's a sight to behold, trust me! As you arrive, prepare to be mesmerised by the crystal-clear waters reflecting the lush greenery surrounding the lake. It's pure magic! We'll show you all the amazing things you can do here, like hopping on a boat and cruising along the shimmering surface or taking a leisurely stroll along the promenade. And if you're up for a little adventure, we've got hiking trails galore that will lead you through the breathtaking forests. Oh, and in autumn, the colours are out of this world.
Last but definitely not least, we spent our last (half) day in Tobu Nikko at Tobu World Square. Imagine wandering through a park that transports you to famous landmarks from all corners of the world. Sounds incredible, right? From the Eiffel Tower to the Great Wall of China, you'll find meticulously crafted miniature replicas that will leave you in awe. We'll be your virtual tour guides, pointing out the must-see spots and sharing fascinating historical tidbits. And don't forget to explore the traditional villages and interactive exhibits, where you can immerse yourself in different cultures. Tobu World Square is a paradise for families, history buffs, and architecture enthusiasts alike.
There you have it, our whirlwind tour of Tobu Nikko's hidden treasures has come to an end. From the serenity of Lake Chuzenji to the breathtaking waterfalls and the mind-boggling world of Tobu World Square, this place is a traveler's dream come true. So, start planning your own incredible adventure to Tobu Nikko today! Get ready to be inspired, amazed, and fall in love with the beauty that awaits you in this captivating corner of Japan. Ahh that's amazing!! 🧡 It would be such a dream to see Japan and Nikko in autumn... Let me know if you post anything as I'd love to see the colours and scenery in another season. Japan wasn't even on my radar until my partner suggested it, and now I know why people go back! Hope you have THE BEST time 😍😍

@@the-creativenomad Thank you very much! I will certainly take a lot of pictures and videos of everything that I will see. Autumn colours should be amazing at the heights of Oku-Nikko around the time I will be visiting, here's hoping the weather will be good. I will also tour through much of the southern part of Honshu. Tokyo, Kamakura, Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka, Koyasan, Hiroshima, and finally the especially gorgeous Miyajima island. It will be a good time. And not only that, I will also visit Singapore and Australia before going to Japan!

Yes! And how were you able to uncover the bus schedule for the day? I tried to hunt online but wasn’t able to find any information 🙂

@@nutrats Right! That's interesting - one thing we found was that Japan is so incredibly advanced in some types of technology, but with others, not so much... We actually spoke with the tour guide at the train station who gave us a map with the bus route, etc. I think it's actually easier to find info online in other countries - but physical maps + brochures are actually more helpful in Japan 😙

@@nutrats I recall we picked up the map at either Nikko Train Station or a train station in Tokyo before we boarded our train to Nikko 🙃
