Kórnik is a small town, but great people lived there. People who created the history of Wielkopolska lived there. The famous Górka family, who held important offices in Wielkopolska for 200 years. Later, the no less famous Działyński family. And finally, Władysław Zamoyski. They were Polish magnates, some of the richest people in Wielkopolska. The town is just an addition to their great estates. They were people of great merit for Wielkopolska, but also for all of Poland. Władysław Zamoyski bought Zakopane along with the entire area of the current Tatra National Park. It is thanks to him that these areas belong to Poland today.
