We moved to CLT a few years ago and we loveeeeee it! Bc of the increase in rent we ended up moving to the outskirts but literally anytime I wanna get out and see my ppl/our culture, I’m in CLT. I miss staying there and I agree, they are building stuff everywhere these days. It even looks different from when I first got there a few years ago.

My husband and I are planning to move to Charlotte this year or beginning of next from Orlando Florida. FL has gotten so expensive and is not an outdoor friendly state unless you are by the beach, like there’s nothing to do. We visit Charlotte often and know it’s where we are meant to be. Sorry for being a transplant, we hate them here too. But this video was so helpful!

If I were you, I would look at the south side! It's a good place to live when you're just getting adjusted to the city. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for the feedback :)

Thanks for this. I was just told o will be moving to Charlotte for work very soon. What apartments would you recommend
@clothevirgoАй бұрын
@@tta1390 I think you will like it, there’s a lot to do! I would suggest looking in the camp north end or south end area for an apartment because it’s really social so it’s easy to make friends and it’s right in the center so you can get around easy. I would say stay away from the university area. There are a lot of college students and a lot of petty theft.
@clothevirgoАй бұрын
I had a friend suggest the Henry Apartments near that area, but I haven’t seen it myself

Could you tell me what the utility prices are like in NC
@clothevirgo3 күн бұрын
@@MsDrobertson522 I can speak mostly for apartments: For my 3 bedroom Light utility bills are usually around $150. Water is included with apartments and added on to rent but if I had to guess that’s around 50ish. Wifi is cheap, at around $60. If you’re staying in a house you may have a gas bill, I think those are probably the most expensive bill you’ll cover. Then insurance for houses and apartments are cheap too but it varies on your plan coverage.

Did the storm affect you at all ?
@clothevirgo3 ай бұрын
@@SaintedWhisper There was not any flooding in Charlotte NC in particular but there were a few power outages due to fallen trees and things. The heavy winds from the storm is the only thing that really impacted Charlotte.
@d_no_allyn_863 күн бұрын
Weather prone prone to have natural disasters would mean we are highly likely to you might mean natural disaster proof lol. I always think we're pretty much too far inland from the ocean to really get the brunt of hurricanes because the storm has had to cross so many miles so it's weakened. And then we have the mountains to the West in the north to block us from possible tornadoes. And there's pretty much no earthquakes here. I think Charlotte can be fun and there is some cool spots I don't personally think it's like some super cool fun place where to live but I would say it's one of the safest as far as storms go lol. So you pretty much can assume to never get killed by Mother Earth here lol. I do think there's starting to be some influx of pretty cool new restaurants and little spots coming up in the city though so I think it has a lot of promise maybe in 3 to 5 years it's going to be an awesome place to live. Then again I'm not someone who drinks or goes to clubs LOL so you probably can't go off of my opinion.

@@hannahkamara9306 My advice for Durham is to tour the neighborhood during the day and once at night before you decide on your place because there are some rough neighborhoods there but there are also good neighborhoods because of the students who live there and even professors. Checking it out at night is how you’re going to tell the difference. Durham is definitely on the up and up because a lot of tech companies plan on bringing business to the RDU.
@clothevirgoАй бұрын
There’s a decent amount of things to do in Durham, they have good food, some good bars and parties to enjoy. Don’t sleep on their downtown area and their parks like the Eno river or Sarah P Duke Gardens.
