@angelbear_og3 жыл бұрын
Right? I've never understood the "evil mastermind plotting world domination" stereotype. To the point where I've many times questioned my INTJ-ness. I'm not evil (to my knowledge) and I certainly don't want to dominate the world -- I don't even want to be a boss of one person. I've never even been a manager. Was sort of a "team lead" once, but only because I had a higher skillset than anyone else in my department -- and I was always getting in trouble for being too "abrasive". It also basically meant that I had to do more work than everyone else. But I'm a worker bee at heart, so while on the one had it annoyed me that I did more and harder work than the others, I also liked the challenges I in a weird way. (Probably because of the learning aspect.)
@MariaMedina-lj4kt3 жыл бұрын
@@angelbear_og I'm in between INTJ and INFJ, because the thinking and the feeling functions are very balanced (like 49%-51%). I sometimes relate more to the INFJ, some other times with the INTJ, but I feel the same as you, I have my flaws, but I'm certainly not evil, and I don't want world domination. I'm very low profile, I usually hope that people won't even notice me. But at work, as I'm very proactive, I end up doing most of the work when it's team work, because I just want to get things done, (and also because I don't really trust other people's work, I have a lot of trust issues) and sadly many people aren't like this, and the sad thing is you will get taken advantage of for this.

I’ve noticed they don’t seem to have the super villain style power hunger, too. They do seem to just want A LOT (all) of control over their own stuff. I really understand and respect that, though. What I suspect it is, is their innate, universal power, which people get confused about. I’ve spoken with my INTJ friend who’s close to my age (40s) and we explained our inner worlds to each other. Mine is more like a moving art piece, while hers is something like the matrix, I think. She has the INTJ eye toggle quite noticeably and she said she tells people she’s checking her inner blackboard, when that’s happening. It’s always when she’s thinking while she’s speaking. My INTJ son also has the eye toggle. They’re checking their matrix world grid and we can actually see it in their eyes! So cool! We both see the objective world/reality filtered through our inner worlds. INTJ is a strategy person and so sometimes people act as though they just got dealt an easier hand in life. This could not be further from the truth. People can be extremely cruel to them due to their outward social behaviours and their often high level of achievements. This actually really upsets me because I raised one. I know the truth and the truth is, like with INFJ, this world doesn’t not seem to like or want them. That hurts! Even little INTJs can hurt, too! I saw him not being accepted. I saw him figuring things out which children aren’t supposed to figure out, yet. I saw him being treated like a lesser and people thinking he was immature. He wasn’t. He was just in his own little fantasy world when he was young. One teacher even tested him for immaturity verrry early on. He was found not to be suffering from immaturity (which I already knew😒). She was just soooo confused by his super quirky little nature. Now he’s a grown man and he does just fine for himself, in this world. He’s quite balanced and he only gets all fired up while he’s driving. And he’s pissed about gas prices and has also mentioned that one or two times.

I see myself in your son, for 2 main reasons 1. This world, I’m trying to understand it for personal development but I don’t get most of it. 2. A teacher several times to my parents I am immature, once she said “she matured a lot”. I was like “ yeah, everyone does but I don’t I changed THAT much”

I am INFJ and I admire a lot INTJs. Thank for sharing. Since my childhood and again now, most of people think I am shy, that I am stupid, that I know nothing, that I do nothing, that I am lazy. Whereas I was not shy, i speak only to say something usefull, good or interesting or helpful. People always confuse between shy and introvert. I suffered too during childhood to be apart (to be forced to do things I didn't want to do to fit in the world), to always wanted to do differently than other, to always ask myself why, to don't see the meaning/the goal in so many things."You can't do like all other do ?" I understood since I was 2 years old, that "we are all differents" thing that most of people don't and will nerver understand in their life. People who know MBTI deeply are rare. Being missunderstood is a terrible feeling that it can cause me frustation, anxiety, depression. We have strenght and weakenesses like all. I am happy to have this personality. Very well balanced 2nd and 3rd function (Fe & Ti), use both right and left side brain. Have many qualities and values. Despite to not fit in this extroverted sensing world. I know so much things, have so much ideas/imagination that I need at least 3 lifes. Today at work, I didn't know how to open the 2nd locked door, in less than 1second, I knew how to open this 2nd door (thanks Ni-Ti) Even if have Se on inferior function don't help with the life, our Ni dominant function is a genius, and save us. INTJs you are a genius, total black look is the best, the most practical, efficient way to be well geared everytime, everywhere. Not waste of time and energy to choose what to wear everyday. I see a lot of commenters confused on whether they're an INTJ or an INFJ basically because they "feel more". Don't fall into your own stereotypes, INTJs aren't emotionless robots. Our feeling function can feel out of control at times because it's in the 'child' position of the stacking, and it's the self focused form of feeling (Fi), as opposed to the INFJ focusing on others feelings (Fe) as a 'parent' function. If anything, INTJs probably seem more emotional than INFJs. But that's just my guess since I haven't known many INFJs. Basically, just look into Fe vs Fi if you aren't sure which type you are.
@asvegas777 Жыл бұрын
Good comment. I don’t know how people confuse these types. Must be testing artifact. For one, INFJ are smooth with Fe - especially when it’s used in service of their Ni. Sure am INTJ can learn social skills but Fe warmth will not come naturally to them in fact they distrust and devalue it quite a bit even if they are socially adept - but it takes enough effort to balance one’s own functions and I am not either of these types so not being judgmental just observing and relating to the cognitive functiona

In case of failure there's frustration about overseen aspects, what I could have do in the past to prevent it - but when it goes smoothly, the satisfaction isn't that big, it's just fine. Thinking about future already. Maybe I'm not good to myself. But staying in the presence is really hard.

So if you are talking about the Five Factor theory of personality designed in part by Jordan Peterson, DO IT! It gives a different perspective....Openness, Conscientiousness, Extroversion vs Introversion,..a scale,all these are scales so we all fall somewhere on them. Fourth is Agreeableness....men tend to be slightly more disagreeable ( which predicts career success) than women or phrased differently,able to stand up for themselves and their ideas...too much agreeableness vs disagreeableness... too much of the latter repulses people and too little is someone who caves in on everything, not good either, never asserting what YOU want or believe or think. N is for neuroticism...women have slighy more of this than men.Shhhh dont say this to a Third Wave Feminist, she will cut your heart out....but it is true and women make up the bulk of psychotherpay patients/clientsfor exactly this reason...pesky neuroticism, that pesters them and makes them unhappy and dissatisfied. The Myers Briggs does not have reliability ie you can get different results with different administrations of the insturment which is why it isnt usually used by clinical psychologists except for industrial psych consulting. The reliability of the 5 Factor Test has been replicated over and over so it is solidly reliable and before any instrument can be said to be valid ie that it measures what it purports to, it must FIRST meet the reliability standard. This is why Educational Testing Services publishers of the SAT pulled publication of the test....it's statisticians could not prove reliability, a real biggie for a pysch or asessment test of any kind. I like both but the 5 Factor is the gold standard of perpsnality tests. Sybil Francis PhD clinical psychology professor ret.

One of the reasons why I've never published anything more involved than a review or a short article for websites is that I worry about what will happen to it if I relinquish any control over it to others. Publishing books, producing movies and TV shows etc. are usually collaborative group efforts. I do not like to collaborate because it always results in me having to let others change things sooner or later. I have great ideas for shows and books - some of which I' even have outlines, completed chapters, scripts etc for, but they'll probably never see the light of day because doing that will change them into something other than what I've already made them in my imagination.

This is completely true. As a Intj I dislike being i first place in line but when doing test ill be the one to finish first. I want to be first but i dont want to be first. Also about the organization thing i am not a organized person (though that could just be cue to my mental health) my room is very messy and whenever im studying my work place is even messier. Also its like i go with the flow and not just any flow but my flow and by doing that i succeed in the life that i want to live.

I like that you recognize that INTJs aren't neat freaks. I've heard a lot recently saying structure and a preference for control=neat freak, and it's not remotely true (at least for me or Sherlock Holmes).

INTP here, who can relate to all these thoughts extremely well. The major addition for me seems to be this permanent creativity that tempts INTPs all the time to explore new knowledge, new things without often finishing what they've been interested in before.

I jumped around between INTJ and INFJ, and it usually depends on the emotional sometimes political climate around me. I've been bingewatching everything on MBTI topic trying to understand it. I've taken the test so many times over the years. And I was always around 45% to 49% turbulent INTJ/INFJ but have never breached the assertive thresholds. Maybe one day as I get older and got a better grip on things as it says in the ending of this video "Grow through life".
@lovewho3 жыл бұрын
Despite the stereotypes, I don't think INFJs are necessarily going to be far more emotional than INTJs. They're usually a lot better at dealing with other people's emotions, but it doesn't necessarily follow that they're more emotional themselves because of that ~ Nathan

jeez.. you have an excellent grasp of every type. 1, Strategy, -winning first before going to war. -- I honestly hate this about them. masterminding situations with their double deciding twisting til you suddenly realize you're royally fucked with no way out and you just lose every time.. and the truth no longer matters. 2, Min-Maxing Actions👌 3, Control 💯 more than Power Hunger 4, Systems and Structures .. for everything. 5, Self-Growth, this part always surprises me about them, bc they don't often show their inner thinking/self development path. --, but "Future _insert their name_" is a common idiosyncratic archetype that all the INTJs I've known will reference from time to time. 6, and YAAAS, Negative Motivation machines all day 😮💨 annoying, but without that, I doubt I'd have seen my patterns to start growing. so ultimately gotta hand it to INTJs. 👏
@OfficialSpyderr3 жыл бұрын
I must be the strangest INTJ ever. I don't do shit for myself, never have and never will. Even the things that seem like it is all for me, I usually find some justification that let's me put what I do on to others. My happiness is tied into my previous experiences and how they have changed me, after 8 months in afghanistan, flying back to the uk, into an arguably more civilised society, you struggle to live without the adrenaline, the rush of fear you feel when getting shot at. Won't be able to join police becausee I don't have qualifications, security is too much staying in one place doing fuck all. I have money saved up so I'm happy living off my savings account playing games and can support myself for the next few years, so it gives me more than enough time to try different things and see what I want to do that will make my happy and allow me to evolve and grow, so with that being said, there is at least one thing that is all for me

It may be Si, but it's not serving him. Having been in the military, an INTJ is BOUND to face Si because that is the second most important function other than Te for them. If it was his natural dominant, it would serve him and energize him. He doesn't do things for himself because he's trained differently. INTJ is not synonym for "self-serving". His Fi tells him that serving others is more important than serving himself, therefore, his motivation will be rooted there. And everyone has memories and refers to them. Bad stereotyping happening here. But, if you paid attention to his statement regarding the vanity of the universe, THAT'S totally Ni. He's already projected that whatever he does won't put a dent in the fabric of space-time, he's ahead of most in understanding, including other shortsighted INTJs. But here is the key OP military man: Jesus. Believe in Him, and He'll put dents all over the fabric of space-time using you... and if you do believe, then you can bet He already has been.

That's always been my leadership experience. I don't seek the prestige and power because I see it as a responsibility. I can work well under leadership but I'm not afraid to voice out my opinions and suggestions. There indeed have been times when I'd assumed the responsibility myself since nobody's taking it or thecurrent leader isn't up to the task. I can respect authority but not until the authority is inefficient.
@Jack_L3 жыл бұрын
I listened to a group of INTJ’s being interviewed together and chatting and I believe they were asked if they liked being in leadership positions and they all essentially agreed that they can lead if there isn’t someone else that’s competent but their preferred position is to be second in command to someone who listens. Specifically second in command. I found myself agreeing, at least when working in small groups. Sounds like you may share a similar opinion. I’ve always found that trend (at least it seems to be a trend) among INTJ’s really fascinating.

As a mage from the witcher's series once said , to master chaos you need balance and control , and what she means is to balance the good in your heart with the evil within it , as for the control part she meant controlling your self and reaction to aggression pointed twards you as chaos fights you back . Besides as hard as it to see , we don't have enemies on this planet , only friends with benefits .

The thing is.. when it comes to personal life, I'm not organised at all. Very blasé. But the moment i am at work, its doing things at the most efficient and timesaving way. And planning it months ahead. Plus planing for any contingency. That makes me look very flexible and creative when in reality its not the case. I just happen to have run the simulation multiple times before and keep the bag of tricks well stocked.

I think what people don't understand about INTJs is that we don't perceive something as a victory. Rather, it's the expected outcome after thorough analysis of the situation, strategizing about the most efficient way to reach the desired outcome, and then the implementation. Of course the desired outcome was reached - how could it be any other way for an INTJ? On to the next objective...

Strategy. Systems. Oooo... yes. Those are the magic words. ;) Control. Eh. I wouldn't use that word, but I agree with how you described it. Contingency planning is the magic word here. And yes, once in control, I'm not inclined to give it up. Because when I didn't have control, apparently the people who did were doing a crappy job. I just fixed the thing, whatever it was. I want it to stay fixed. Self Growth. Eh. I wouldn't say so. But then I'm in my head so much, maybe I just don't notice.
