what I feel embarrassed about is the sweat that's left behind when I stand up after a seated exercise 😭

I DO believe that progressive overload is very important and DOES build muscle very effectively….however no one reaches “heavy” when they first start out….and if you stay with a specific program, everyone reaches a physical limit and must mix it up. Myself, I am still starting out and not ashamed at all where I am…instead very proud that I make it to the gym and do MY own personal best. I am not competing with anyone else but myself

Sorry Mark but you are wrong. Heavy weight for low reps OR light weight at high reps will both make you muscular. That's just how the body works. As far as getting big, you'll need to eat more for that to happen. Taylor a plan to your fitness goals, but let's not pretend if a lady comes in and curls to failure she's not going to get muscular.

I see many people “fail” at the gym, it is completely normal and anybody who is serious about training will have it happen to them constantly. It is a normal part of working out and it happens to everyone. Nobody will look at someone in the gym and go “Oohh that person failed what a weak ass pussy”😅 it is a part of training and improving strength and anybody who is serious about training knows this. The only time anybody is going to say anything is if you end up hurting yourself and in that case people are very eager to help you out and maybe they might urge you to be a bit more careful next time.

When you start going to the gym you very quickly notice that people are not judgmental at all. I have only had positive interactions with people at the gym, if there has been an interaction to begin with. People are so busy doing their own thing and they don’t wanna be bothered so they won’t bother you either. Most people who go to the gym do so for a reason, to self improve and for a lot of people the gym is a safe space where you can let go of all anxiety. I’m a woman and I have had a few men come up to me and be genuine in their complements, not flirtatious at all. Something I think many women are a bit scared of. Being stared at by men at the gym, but honestly that really hasn’t happened to me. It has happened once or twice, but it has been outside the gym and not in the actual gym. One guy came up to me when I was at the squat rack and said “Sorry to bother you, but can I take this plate? My squat rack didn’t have this one” I said “Yeah ofc” and then he said “You are very strong and have great form, keep up the good work!” And then he went back to his rack. It really made my day.

@@ryanleblanc6817 I actually prefer wearing sweatpants. However, where I live the climate doesn't always agree with me wearing sweatpants. If you think leggings make a woman look like a pornstar, you have a lot of work to do on yourself, a woman should be able to exist her body without being sexualised especially when her body is existing in a medium that is not inherently sexual- gym.

The majority of women of all sizes and all weight categories have cellulite. It’s literally how our bodies are made. Notice how men no matter what shape and size they are don’t have cellulite? It’s because they weren’t designed to have it. Just like they weren’t designed to birth children and breast feed etc. no matter how tone I get my legs and how strong my legs are they will always have cellulite ever since I hit puberty I’ve had cellulite. I saw a girl at the store once and you could tell she worked out her legs looked very strong and she still had cellulite a lot like mine. And I thought omg, her legs look beautiful. That helped me as well. As long as your legs are toned in my opinion cellulite doesn’t look bad.

You shouldn’t wear whatever you want if you are still uncomfortable of people staring at you- like don’t wear tight revealing stuff just cause you want to “dress for yourself”. Don’t take this as hate, but please note it.
