I'm being targeted by a supervisor (not my direct supervisor, but the one on the other side of the plant). I just today became somewhat familiar with the term "retaliation" and what examples are. Turns out, all those examples pertain to this situation. Even as I write this, I have no clue what caused this, mainly because he ignores me, or if I ask a question in the morning meeting (like on Tuesday) that is relevant to the topic being discussed by him, he will look at me as if I were a disgrace to humanity and gives me no answer by saying "I'll check on it" and never getting back to me. In the past we have had issues due to his blatant racism. But that has paled in comparison to whatever this is. I've never seen a supervisor go out of their way to make an employee feel so uncomfortable and frankly scared of what spiteful sack of surprises will await me from day to day. I am or was a lead person, not sure if it's still the case, because he's now telling my supervisor where to put me and moving trainees away from me and placing them in unnecessary spots which was not the case at any point of the last 4yrs. He tells other employees to stop their machines if I'm out of their site and to leave that machine and locate me and then go tell him what it was that caused me to be away from the saw. It's to the point now that I'm seriously paranoid when I see him around my work area for fear of him putting something in my yeti cup for malicious intent. Ive recorded hours of audio this week and have the Tuesday meeting debacle between him and I on file...but also the conversation at break when my actual daily or direct supervisor came to talk to me at my break time. I'll continue to record my time at this job, but I'm sad and disappointed that what once seemed like a promising future has turned into a tense and dread filled, high anxiety ride to my job every day. Can I do anything about this in Alabama? I clean my desk out of belongings and grab the tools I paid for before I leave... cuz the atmosphere is so unstable, I dont know if I'll be fired or continue to be the focal point of an out of control tyrant. The levels of stress even talking about it brings is almost enough to quit... yet I dont . But do I have to keep enduring this? What are my choices?

Atwill is good not bad. it means if the job is bad conditions they can't ask you give 2 week notice. they still can't fire you for any reason. so in most cases benefits employees more than the employer. they can't fire you discrimination reason then claim it is atwill. you can win a discrimination case 51 percent preponderance of evidence even if they claimed it was atwill reasons. them stating its atwill doesn't remove them from liability of other discrimination laws.

I live in an at will state. If an employee was called the n word and had racial jokes made at his expense over a period of time. Both incidences were reported the last incidence was reported to HR and months went by before anything was done. When the employee was finally called into the office to discuss the matter within minutes he was informed that they closed the case, never even brought up the racial discrimination he endured and reported. What they wanted to focus on was that he came in early help one day and approached his supervisor to tell her that he didn't know when he got there, he couldn't find his badge. This has happened numerous times and she stated that he always handles it professionally. Instead of investigating the racial discrimination they investigated that one occurrence and tried to force him to sign a written write up that would force him to agree that if he violates another conduct or policy or his work is not up to par they can terminate him. He did not sign. I don't know what to do. He loves his job but now he knows it's probably over and nothing can be done to salvage it.

I was out on Short term disability for Anxiety/Panic disorder. I was told by coworkers management were moking my disability to others calling all sorts of names. I reported to my HR and then sent me a letter of termination. Could I seek legal action against them for discrimination/retaliation? I got that termination letter soon as my disability was closed but it was under appeal

I work with a home health company. Tht goes through the Va. All the way back on March my employer has been reducing my rate to my travel time as pay meaning I was hired at $10 an hour and you're paying me 8:25 when it was agreed on at 8:50 for travel is a work there my pay kept getting smaller and smaller to where I'm barely making $175 a week I noticed $10 in one week 9.9 dollars in another week an 8.25 on another week. I never agreed for them to change my pay rate and when I call my company and ask them why there was three different pay rates in 3 weeks they said it was a blending effect or blending something everybody that I've called has never heard of that please help I love my job and what I do but my employers are taking money from you that I have learned I have been given threatening emails I've been spoken to verbally on the phone that if I didn't show up for work after even prior knowledge that they knew that my kid was sick and he could not go to daycare with a fever they told me that I would be fired if I did not show up. Me being a single mom i once again called that night because i didnt know what to do to try and explain that my son was sick with bronchitis and ear infection. They once again told me the decision was up to me. And I went into work human kid medicine because I was threatened to be fired a scare tactic which work. They keep blaming me for losing clients when they do not run the company with commtion to there clients either they told me when I got there at the client's house and you may tell him that I was coming and I had to leave which I do not get paid for it then that was just Wednesday. They do not talk to employees to see if they need anything you do not have name badges for us when we pre-order them and sent them in pictures when we first started please have a single mother to get the pay that she deserves from a company that's not running it correctly in changing rates without permission

I recorded a phone call between my boss and I were I was on workers comp leave for 7 months due to a neck surgery and I was getting released back to full duty. In the call I informed my boss/owner of the company that I was ready to come back. He then stated " I dont like getting sued by my employees and since you went through workers comp to do it ,I'm not willing to work with you at all". Like I said I recorded that call because I was advised to record all communications during the work comp process. I went two months looking for a new job untill I finally took one for 35k less a year. I worked for this company for 7yrs and had a verbal contract that should have carried me all the way to retirement/ 25 yrs. Any advise?...I feel I have the smoking gun..
